I would add and honestly recommend my personal top 2, to which I always gladly come back:
- "XENIOS ZEUS" (best Taramasalata ever!), located in Plaka, right under the Acropolis and overlooking the vibrant Mnisikleous street and its famous “stairs”;
- "Panorama" (masters of the seafood!) in Voula, with its beautiful view of the Aegean sea (sunsets here are breathtaking).
Thank you for these suggestions, Panorama is another great option which we love but as for Xenios Zeus we will have to check it out when we are there next!

best restaurant? I don't need great view, eggs, sweets, baked stuff, that is not what I'd call best restaurants. Variety of seafood, salad dishes are.

Its very difficult to make any top 15 in Athens. Have you tried all thousands of eateries, restaurants, fine dinings, and so on to know the top 15? I have guessed so. That's exactly why top 10s etc are not reflective of anything. I do agree however these places are delicious.
