The Kirks were never $2 even though Tommy Lee Wallace states something like that, but it wasn't the case at all. The Don Post Catalog states it was around $35 if I remember correctly. I have the image of the Kirk and spocks from the catalog... Just a fun fact.
It looks like he’s got a smirk. If you want an H4 the best way to do it is get a TOTS H2 and convert it. All you have to do is paint the nose and mouth white, cut the eye holes a smidge, and add the side burns and you have an H4.
In the late 90s I found a "rubies the mask" in the mall. First one I ever owned. Paid 23 bucks for it. It had painted on hair and resembled Halloween 4. Couple years later i went out one night and my gf at the time got so mad she ripped it to shreds. I found pieces of it in the yard the next day. Yeah I was pretty unhappy about it. Even though I have several now some that I re-hauled myself but I still wish I could find a replacement for my collection but I don't think rubies makes them anymore.

The H4 and H5 masks are almost impossible to find. If you can get your hands on Rubies H4 and H5 and rehaul them, go ahead! That's as close as you'll get to any H4 and H5 masks. I don't even know any artists making those anymore.
The H4 mask (from the movie) has been growing on me lately. It is actually sculpted from the same mold as the 1975 captain Kirk if I'm not mistaken. I think if they ripped the side burns off the mask and added some weathering, the H4 mask could have rivaled the H1/H2 mask. The rubies H4 doesn't look much like the movie IMO. However, I think if you re-do the hair on the Elrod mask to match the H4 hair with side burns, you would have a very close match to the original H4 mask.
Personally I don't like a lot of Rubie's products. Their Jason masks are awful, the Freddy gloves are cheap and break in seconds. The Michael Myers masks are also pretty bad. They look nothing like the ones from the movies and they are pretty notorious for their hair falling out of the masks. I'll honestly stick to TOTS.
Hey Scott. Seeing this closer in a vid, I'm not a fan of the Rubies H4. The sculpt and eye cuts aren't that good. Years ago, a company called Jack in the Box made really nice looking H4 masks for really a good price, but they are no longer around. I understand about collecting all the masks in the franchise though. Have you looked into any of the remake masks?. Also, whats your opinion on the clown masks that young Michael wore?
I'm a big fan of the clown masks. You can actually buy both of them. I know the remake clown mask isn't to expensive, search it up on eBay. Oh yeah, what do you think of the update Carpenter posted in regards to the next Halloween movie, due out in 2018.
Oh really, thats pretty interesting in regards to Robert Englund. I don't see it working either, as he's to iconic as Freddy. I think for the movie to work, they need to either cast people who have acted in the franchise already or just cast fresh faces.

Thank you for your input regarding putting together a life size and expanding on it in your video. I love the Halloween franchise but I have to say that the H4 mask is my least favorite. The Rubies version is not terrible but I think Trick or Trick studios would have done a much better job. The independent mask makers of course do a great job of replicating these masks and the MCS H4 is the best I've seen. I enjoy your videos and I share your enthusiasm for collecting Myers masks. I don't know why this mask gets so much hate. I think it's probably because it doesn't resemble the original Captain Kirk mask. But,why would it? Especially since it got melted in "Halloween II". Myers needed a new mask to replace his old one with,and this happened to be the closet he could find. Most fans say the "Halloween 4" mask is the worst in the series. I completely disagree. Because it looks ridiculously cartoonish, unthreatening, and permanently surprised. You either have to have the original mask or something completely different than the white human like face because we're all expecting the mask from the original and anything close will be compared. On the other hand, I don't understand how anyone could want the mask from a shit movie anyway. The sequels would have sucked even with perfect original Kirk masks.
I thought the part 5,7,8 where the absolute worst mask .the best h4 mask iv seen is nag h88 and iv seen them all I think nag still may make them but not positive

To make the mask bigger, you have to make the slit in the back longer
