*I lost 120 pounds in 2018 on a Carnivore Diet, I maintained that in 2019. In 2020 I struggled with some weight gain and then lost it again in 2021. For the last few years I have been maintaining a healthy weight. In December 2022 I had skin removal surgery (tummy tuck). This channel just documents all of that journey and how our family lives normal lives and eats a meat based diet.

Ive been eating carnivore for three years now.
My wife died ten years ago from rare complications of the complications of diabetes. I wish I could go back and get her on this diet.
I didn't have any of the health issues that gets a lot of people onto this diet, but I didn't want to end up like my wife did.
I've never felt better in my life!
I do occasionally eat carbs, vegetables, fruit, even candy, but only on special occasions with my family where I don't want to make a scene. I only eat a little bit and it's only a couple of times a year.
But I can sure feel it after I do.
My wife raised dogs and learned that small poops were a sign of good nutrition.

Started carnivore June 1, 2024. Today, July 10th, I’ve lost 3” on my waist and 13 lbs. The key for me was eating enough fat. I like butter so that’s my “go to” fat. I eat it cold out of the fridge. We also bought a half a side of beef, so we have plenty of choices of cuts of beef. I’m getting my labs done soon, so I’m hoping no more metabolic syndrome!

I could eat 10 bananas, a bag of oranges and a bag of apples ( about 5 or 6of each per bag) within an hour. Dr was useless-‘Oh but fruit is healthy, that’s good’ I was told 🤦🏼‍♀️I’m now pretty much ketovore. I couldn’t even eat dairy at 1st without being triggered. As my weight has dropped off I’m now more insulin sensitivity I can have some Greek yogurt. It’s frustrating how little the medical profession know or support people to help themselves.

By freezing ‘or’ refrigerator cooling ‘cooked’ (pre-cooked) starchy carbohydrate foods (rice, potatoes, pasta, bread, and all beans) for ‘at least’ 12 hours before reheating and eating them. Hope this helps you with your health journey!

Who knew that from eating all these "healthy" foods, I was just keeping myself sick?! I feel so much better now. I am not much into fruit, but the other day I bought some Rainier Cherries (my fave and can only get them in summertime), had a few and they were delicious. I have no problem moderating fruit or sweets, but rice and potatoes... forget about it. Will I never eat potatoes again? I think the diarrhea is not from water. The large bowel quite easily absorbs water, even to he poin to extreme consumption and hyponatremia. Those peoole do not have diarrhea. Its the excess fat and the rapid change in bowel flora. Those new to carnivore technically have steatorrhea, which is oily stools. If you care toblook closely, there is a top layer of grease in the toilet. In short order the body will produce enough bile and absorb all the fat

I'm a healthcare provider who studied nutrition at Cornell and food is my favorite medicine for patients. I have to write this for my lawyer's peace of mind: this information is my personal opinion and observation and should not be used as nutritional advice if you haven't seen me in clinic. Carnivore diet is great for carb addicts and there are plenty of us, myself included. I recommend a 3-month strict carnivore diet to patients with autoimmune disorders and neurological disorders, including mental health struggles. I'm more cautious with it with my patients who have cardiovascular problems. The studies show carnivore short-term is very beneficial to get rid of inflammation, however long-tern carnivore does not show favorable results as many people tend to pass away earlier on carnivore. The only diet that had consistently great results when it comes to longevity in multiple studies was cutting your normal portions in half for each meal forever. I have seen patients reverse chronic diseases with low carb Mediterranean diet (similar to carnivore, but with healthy oils like whole avocados and cold-pressed olive oil, as well as organic veggies, and some organic berries (mainly blueberries), no sugars, grains, or starches. I usually recommend trying out a diet for 3 weeks and see if it feels good, especially after the carb cravings subside (those can be very strong). Physical activity also plays a huge role no matter the diet. Walking, swimming, tennis, aerobics, gym, dancing, pilates, yoga, stretching, etc. If you eat healthy and enjoy a physical activity of your choice, you'll be unstoppable! I wish everyone a beautiful, healthy, long and fulfilling life!

Makes sense. I feel like I caught something on my own real early and stopped just in time. Lots of drinking for multiple decades. Kept getting fat with less energy. Not even enough energy to take out the trash for the week at some points. Way too much doordash. Bought a blood pressure machine, but never used it until things started getting "weird". Got bad edema on the feet, blurred vision, and a strange rash growing on the backs of the hand. Had some heart/gut burn as if my stomach was begging me not to force the 8th pint of beer into my body for the day. So I plugged in the BP machine one evening. It was high af. Scared me straight. Lost my appetite for a couple days actually so it was easy to get a jump on the new diet. Had to fix things in stages. No beer obviously, but had to repair the gut and get the bile production up again to break down food better and start helping get fat out of the liver. Kept things simple. Sirloin steak packs, burger, chicken breast, but I opted for low/no oxalate fruits and vegetables as oxalates (kale, spinach, seed foods) kill kidneys over time. Had to get the digestive system cleaned out to start over. Potassium. Potassium stimulates the nerves in the bowels to make sure things move along whether they want to or not. Coconut water and fresh pineapple chunks to snack on each day covers that. Once I started experiencing perfect torpedos again I knew I was on the right track. BP has dropped down to normal and flirts with elevated, but I will take that. No doordash has saved me a ton on food as well. I was either on my way to diabetes, kidney disease, cystic fibrosis, or all of the above as alcohol does not discriminate which system it destroys. I feel like I got that on the mend now. I have way more energy. Fixed my lawn, dug out concrete embedded posts, replumbed my house and deleted almost all the iron pipe. Yep, been busy!

I stumbled on these carnivore videos in mid June of this year. I had stayed away from a regular gym schedule since having a stroke (brain bleed with some mild weakness in my left arm in 2021) and my weight went and my conditioning went down. My son told me about Carnivore, I checked it out and I liked what I saw and heard, so I decided to try it. (I never had any luck with any sort of diets) Laura was one of the channels I viewed. Anyhow, I went “cold turkey” on everything except Meat, Dairy, and Eggs. In one week I lost 4 lbs and after four more weeks I am down 13 lbs! I sleep better, have much better energy levels and I am back in the gym and usually walk 2-3 miles a day!!! Oh yeah, I’m 75! I do NOT miss the vegetables (I do cheat once in a while by eating locally grown Corn on the Cob (2) and some buttered noodles sometimes, once in a while, but I DO NOT miss all of the other foods I used to eat, like doughnuts, chips, candy, etc. I used to drink coffee everyday, with sugar (lots) and milk. Now I drink ONE mug a week with Heavy Whipping Cream and a pad of butter! It took me a couple mugs to get used to the taste, but it is actually enjoyable now. One thing I like about the Carnivore diet…and I’ve lost count of how many videos I have watched…is you can tailor it to your needs and likes, pretty much. Some are Just Meat, Salt and Water and some are like mine with a number of variations. I’m glad I listened to my son on this bit of advice. He was on it for a while, lost weight and cleared up some medical problems, but I was reluctant for a bit, and then I did….plus…I save a LOT of money NOT having to buy all the stuff I was eating. 😂 Ladies…look at Laura’s before and after pictures, the weight loss, the nice skin and check out (guys) her husband’s change!

This is a very valuable video in that she is speaking to the point of understanding what happens in the brain when sugar is consumed in any form I.E.carbs. For someone like me who was in the military you understand how to discipline your body in ways that non-military people have grown up and live their life with so much freedom of choice. When you realize that every decision you make, affects your life and your body you start to understand how much conscious effort is required to care about yourself and your future self therefore I would commend everyone to pay attention to that statement and really hold yourself accountable. Are you controlling yourself or are you being controlled?

Humans have no need for carbs. We make glucose. By not buying plants or the plant babies (nuts and fruits) we support animals eating those foods instead. The farmers will let the land be used for cattle instead of trying to sell it to the grocery store. That will allow less or no pesticides to be used and it supports diabetics and allergic people by not giving money to companies that are sabotaging them. Good for you. This video is extraordinary because you introduce nuances and details. Those two are endangered species in the modern world. What I found out when I put an end to my food addiction to snacking is that by doing intermittent fasting or restricted time eating (removing just the morning breakfast) did put an end to 47 years of impossibility to stop eating. The main point is that when you remove glucose spikes, then you remove also glucose dips, that can trigger fatigue and a need to eat some type of carbohydrate like MILK or CHIPS or anything that is a combination of fat+flour+salt. Hunger seem more regulated now by protein and salt, so when I eat protein and salt enough, then I am satiated, and I have stable mood, stable energy, stable focus, for a long time. I am still omnivore with a strong bias to animal proteins and complete animal fats that are included. In my case bread, milk, seed oils where the things that made me always tired and lumpy. I am very happy that you say that "pure carnivore" is probably not necessary. This is also what I think.

I really like the idea of carnivore and what people are experiencing, but i have an honest question. If carnivore is the best diet for humans, why is it necessary to supplement it with electrolytes? Shouldn't an optimal diet make supplements desirable, but more or less unnecessary,? If someone tried this diet some hundred years ago, how would they maintain naturally a healthy amount of electrolytes?
This is basically what is preventing me from starting.

Humans got electrolytes out of drinking animal blood. But agree some berries, some nuts are always fine.

I am doing carnivore/keto diet. The only veggies I eat are cabbage and broccoli. I am no longer prediabetic and my arthritis has pretty much gone away. Thank you for your content and wisdom shared.

There are all sorts of 'carnivore.' Adjustable to each person...some are meat and butter...some meat and eggs...meat/eggs/bacon...some add veges or fruit sparingly...
This is a gentle and humane bunch...some variety which works differently in our differing bodies adds to our varied successes.
Be kind. We are our own Greatest Experience and Greatest Experiment.

@Lesleig👍 people can be so legalistic, not taking into consideration that we ate all different. One size does not fit all😊

I think you meant removing the extra fiber from our carnivore diets and adding more fat.

fruit does not raise your fasting glucose even though it may spike it temporarily that isn't an issue, my fasting is 88, triglycerides 51 and I eat a ton of fruit.
being fat ss fuck off donuts and cheeseburgers, prcoessed crap, losing weight on keto and then blaming carbs all together is INSANE, and I don't get why people do this.
