I just purchased the Canon Pro 1000. Haven't set it up yet! I am going to be printing Iris Photography. Macros of a person's iris. Pretty amazing art. I expect to print 8x10, 11x14 (on 13x19 paper) and 17x22. I also purchased those 3 Canon papers. Will this software make my life easier? Does it run on a Mac? Do I ever need to use the Canon software? I notice you say it's all that's needed. I want this process to be easy and simple, or foolproof. Thanks also for your wonderful video presentations!
Hi, I have this question. I want to print on paper size 11cmx16cm (4.33 x 6.30 in), but I want the print area to be 4 x 6 in. How do I center the image, or how do I get the top margin to be equal to the bottom margin?
Thank you for all your informative videos. May I ask you one thing. Ypu are familier with the ET-8550 printer. I have a sample-kit from Canson. The Platine Fibre Rag 310g demands a media type: "Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster". I cannot find that in my driver. Do you have any suggestion about what to try? Thanks for your help. Regards Christer
That's because that CANSON paper it's not officially supposed to be used on something like an ET8550. Choose the closest paper type the driver offers. If Canson does not offer a profile for that paper and ET 8550 yoou will have to have one made.
Thank you Jose for your answer. However Canson have reasently provided a number of ICC profiles for the ET-8550, but none for that special paper and the Velin Museum Rag. Anyway thanks for all your help.
Hi Jose thank you for this, I have downloaded the trial Qimage, to give it a go, but still getting dark prints like I do if I use photoshop. I have profiled my Benq 270c Monitor with Xrite I1display pro using the Palette master sofwate , white point D65, Luminace 80. My pinter paper I have been trying is black diamond A3 and it looks like a glossy photo. I made a profile for this photo paper using Calibrite cc studio and my colormunki photo when chosing my printer setting (canon i8750) I selected Canon glossy paper, high quality and manual colour adjustment, select None and saved the profile as Blk diamond canon glossy. So in Photoshop I selected the canon glossy photo paper, high quality print picked the profile I had made for that paper and manual color adjustment, selected none, did a print but is alot darker them my screen, then did the same with Qimage trial softare and again used the profile I had made for the Black diamond paper and this time in manual colour adjustment I selected ICM and printed my image, but it still looks dark , could it be I need to profile my my monitor with a lower Luminace say 60 then re-dit the Image, or I am doing somthing totally wrong thanks for all advice.
I once watched a video on this very topic. It could be your BenQ is too bright when you're working. The presenter suggested dimming the monitor more than usual and adjusting the brightness of the photo. It seems like a simple fix and I understand the idea. I just got a Canon Pro 1000 and I'm going to try this from the get go. I haven't opened the box yet!
Thank you for your reply, Yes I now set white point to 5800 Kelvin and luminance to 60cd/m candela and these settings have helped my print monitor match look very good.
A note for macOS users, you have to use Qimage One, as Qimage Ultimate is Windows only. Qumage One is a simpler UI with the same backend. However, note that you have to copy a few images to a stand alone folder and browse to it. If you browse into some folder with 20 or more images, you will be watching the busy spinning disk icon all afternoon. When I asked about this they said it was not intended for big folders full of files. I claim that Lr handles large folders without issue, so I see no reason Qimage One cannot do the same.
Did the fix it where it remembers your roll paper setting rather than resetting it everytime you restart it? I use this software everyday but boy is it clunky. It does the job, but isnt enjoyable to use.
It is not your normal adobe like UI you have to remember it is just over 20 years old and when originally released it was purposely made to be unique and not copying other UI's
Best program for printing can't beat it
Always thank you

Can Qimage Ultimate utilize an icc profile created with CCStudio by xbrite Calibrite?

Qimage Ultimate has AI, but missing plain old intelligence. Impossible to use this tool.
Really? Why? Don't just complain. Instead explain what issues are you having.
@@cheo1949patience is helpful and missing in this person's comment. Wish the OP would explain more. I want to know too! 😊
