Cameron diaz was awesome here. She was a great mom in the film
Sofia Vassilieva is so fucking underrated. I mean, while watching the movie, I tried to remind myself that I shoudn't cry my eyes out because of her, because she didn't actually have leukemia and she was just playing a character in a movie which, by the way, would bring her good money... but I couldn-t get myself to do it. It was so real.. her facial expressions, her voice- everything. Besides her role was harder than Abigail's (though she was also good)
that's the most deppresing movie i've seen in my whole life. Good story, good talents, awesome ending. Really brings back memories... like you're dying and remembering all your life in one second. it's very deppresive
it's 8 years later but I watched it last night and had the exact same thought, "this is the most depressing movie I've seen in my whole life".

I reckon Sofia's greatness in Medium... she looks so young and yet so beliveable
Sophia portrays an outstanding performance in this film! She came from Eloise to Kate and it amazes me how much potential and outlook she has. Way to go, Sophia! Way to go all of you!

I admire all these beautiful actors and actresses. Cameron, Sofia and Abigail all gave such killer performances. They made the movie so real even though it’s fictional and such, it felt so real. Their voices, the way they expressed their lines really, etc. It’s amazing! Incredible! Beautiful! They deserve a standing ovation always. I wish to meet them soon!
I can't take my tears when I watch this movie. I just keep crying when Kate give her mom a gift then she dies.

It's not cancelled. CBS is picking it up. So it just won't be on NBC anymore. That makes me happy! I was so sad to hear they cancelled it. Thank goodness it'll be back!

Did you notice that the interviewer slipped up and asked Cameron about the scene near the end where she breaks down at the hospital? That's kind of a partial giveaway for the ending, because that sounds like what happens at the end of the book, too. Maybe I'm just being too optimistic that they won't change too much...

Movies based on books do that basically because in a book such as THE LORD OF THE RINGS or more recent TWILIGHT books can(and will)go over board with all of the details. THE LORD OF THE RINGS,HARRY POTTER TWILIGHT etc. would all be about 6hrs each movie(can you imagine having to sit down in a movie theater for 6 FREAKIN HR!!??).ALL movies based books,comicbooks,novels(whatever!!)will be so different from the original story!!Don't you just HATE,I know I do!!

i like cameron diaz...but idk if she was right for this role. while i was watching the movie i had trouble seeing her as a mother figure.
Yes she did a amazing job and so did cameron and abigail and pretty much everyone did actually. I think it was a great thing they did not cast Dakota fanning and her sister. I honestly don't think Dakota or her sister would have pulled this movie off as great as those to young girls did.
