In my opinion this is one of the best RC cars on the market it's a little bit bigger than a 10 scale and has a lot better handling and it's great jumping and it's a great basher has tons of potential for upgrades and gets some good speed right out of the box

I used to have to old Hobby People XTM X2e which was awesome! But since they went out of business, you can't get parts anymore, so I was glad to see this Typhon which is just like my old XTM!

I already have myself a V2 BRCC and senton with all the weaknesses the V2 had sorted and I really love them. You got a new sub bro keep it up
Thank you man I appreciate the comment and sub, V2's are pretty cool the only issue I had was leaky shocks, so far no leaks on the typhon 😊

I was sorta on the fence about this buggy. I’ve been out of rc for around 6 years or so and now that my kids are older and into it I wanna jump back in and I’ve been eyeing this and seeing it fly and not slap to hard over jumps I think I’m sold.

I see you have the 6s now too. Let me ask you this, which one do you prefer? I prefer the 3s only because it's more fun, and easier to contain that crazy speed. My 6s can be boring to use because it's so fast I rarely have room to run it like I want too.

Great video. I love that typhon. I probably would have got the 6s, but for the price of the 3s, you can easily just upgrade the electronics to handle 6s. Can you do a video on the Losi Lasernut? I’m thinking about getting it. I already watched Amain hobbies, but there was not much action. I always rely on you for lots of action, and entertainment. I always trust your reviews. Thanks!

Never owned the rustler but I would think it is

Sweet little buggy. So i have to ask, since I am new to the electric RC car field, how do you know when to stop without destroying the battery? When I fly I have a timer, based on recommended flight times, but it does not seem that way here. With my Arrma Granite Voltage, the truck just stops, seems like a failsafe built in to the ESC. is that the same with these trucks?
The ESC has low voltage detection and slows the car down to very slow speed when it happens so you protect the lipo battery.
Man I really been wanting a typhon 3s!!! I just picked up the v3 3s senton from my local hobby shop. I've only been in the hobby 7 or 8 months now and its a blast!!! I have the rustler xl-5 I put a 3650 3900kv brushless and 120 amp esc I have the jlb cheetah 21101 not sure if u heard of those or not? But alot of rc for $300 with the batt and charger. Never ran the senton yet because waiting to order battery for it on line cheaper that way. My lady thinks ive lost my mind and dont understand once you get an rc you want almost all of them. Lol its not the cheapest hobby for sure. Man sorry for how long this comment is but I jave to ask is that track close to you? The closest track to me is a clay indoor track in Tacoma lil over hour drive for me. I now you live on the on other side of the pass from me I think you told me Spokane or yakima getting back to me on a comment on diffrent video. But man I would love to come over to that track some time just need to know location if you dont mind? Sorry again for the book I wrote you!
It's true once you get one of them you want to have all 😂 sounds like you got a collection already going. You can find the track on google maps, it's called The Hank Perry Rc Park, I live a few minutes away from it. They do close it once there's water standing on it after rain and then close it for winter. Other then that it's always open to the public.
What’s so different about the 2020 version of the typhon?
Not very much, just different radio system and I believe the electronics are just spektrum

I was looking for a good basher and ended up on a Granite or MT10. I know this isn’t a monster truck like those but would it be comparable durability wise?
Is yours loud like gears grinding when taking off? Mine was straight out the box

Do yourself a favor and grab a set of Holeshot 2.0 S3 tires/wheels. It's night and day difference on dirt tracks. It really woke up my 3S Typhon.

I have some questions though. It says that you need a 3s lipo but not only that, it says hardcase. Does it need to be a hardcase? I found a good battery from a (seemingly) not-well-known brand, but it's a softcase. I found a Spektrum battery that's pretty much the same, except it's a hardcase, but since it's Spektrum brand, it's $45 more. Is it even worth it to get a hardcase if you just are careful with it?
Also, what battery are you using?
I ran this buggy with softcase and its fine, hardcase are just safer thats basically it. I was running the Hoovo 3S batteries

Awesome video! I’m kind of new to RC and I was wondering what batteries you’re using with your typhon and what suggestions of other brands I should keep my eye on please?
I use the Hoovo brand right now from amazon and they been pretty good. Zeee and Gens ace are good too but a little more spendy

that seems good enough to win at the track if driver had equal skills..has enough punch and topspeed... seems well balanced and handles great from what i see here... does it come with anti roll bars front and rear??? thanks for sharing
Totally agree, with some different tires and a bit tuning it has some potential, the 3s does not have sway bars but the 6s does.
@@FivoNine is 6s version same chassis? so i guess you can order sway bars for 3s? thanks
Not sure if the sway bars will work on the 3s, its different chassis, the 6s is aluminum and 3s is composite plastic.
@roadstar499 you can fit the sway bars that comes in the vortex on the typhon 3s I'm pretty sure

Did you notice that you don't have a front window decal? Mine came with bubbles in the front window decal and the dboot decals were not put on right either!

I run mine with a 50% speed restriction and I enjoy far more knowing how much I lower my risk from accidents and damage full throttle drivers risk every time they go for a drive 🚗 Great basher at 50% - no need to be stupid and use 100%. Just silly.
I agree 50% is plenty to run around the track. Even at 100% limit I probably only use 35%-60% throttle

I think stock its 43wt....Depends what your doing....track you might go lower, for bashing you might go higher

I meant to say it does not have a gyro or stability control. Some called it tsm or avc, it helps out with going in a straight line. If the typhon 3s had it, it would of been much easier to control on the track

How do you clean these cars off? Are they water proof?
Yes they are waterproof. Just depends how dirty you get, usually I dust off the loose dirt with air duster or air compressor, then water it down, blow off water with air compressor, then spray it with wd40 and blow off that off too. check bearings 😁
Mine arrived Tuesday, doesn't seem as fast as I thought, any tips for more speed out of it, gearing recommendations?
what battery are you running? if you start messing with the gearing you have to be careful not to burn out the esc.

What type of lipo battery runs longer for the typhon3s?
More mAh means more run time, 7000mAh will run longer than 5200mAh
Have you had any delay problems with controller and receiver? I've heard people have been having problems with that!! I plan on getting the typhon soon!
I havent noticed any delays with the typhon between the controller. But overall Arrmas esc does have a little delay when you punch throttle from standing still, which i never liked. Overall i love the typhon 😁

parts are a bit more expensive than the slash but more durable in my opinion and really easy to work on

Hi Scott the car can handle any really powerful batteries like the one you mentioned it’s lower C rated/mAh batteries you should avoid using the car will only pull the maximum power it requires which that batt will cope with easily but if you put in a 40c 4000mAh batt it would struggle and maybe fail to give the power the esc is trying to pull which would make the esc heat up and also the battery would get very hot and could puff or catch fire if the spec of the battery isn’t good enough for the car it’s being used in. So you could have a 500c 7000mAh batt and the car can use it perfectly the battery wouldn’t stress under load where a low spec one would. Hope that’s helpful to you bro

The rc8b3.2 is designed for track where the typhon is a basher, I never owned a track car so would be interesting to see the comparison
@@FivoNine thanks for the reply and I agree. I have an rc10b2 and rc10tc3 and looking at getting a new toy as I'm afraid to run my current ones due to age and parts availability. I have always been partial to associated cars but the rc landscape has changed drastically and for the better!

Some nice driving there bro. I had the 3s with the stx2 radio, had an horrific crash as the radio used to cut out after 30ft or so. Not sure if you had the older version but I was wondering if the new radio and servo are a lot better?
I did not have the old radio but this new one seems fine, no signal lost so far and seems to hold up good after some good bashing.
Mine cuts out about 65ft in new one not great
That thing is fast, and it can fly well.

I'd run a 3s Gens Ace Advance 5000 100c - Have found these new batts better that the Gens Ace Basher batts. Expensive but pay for themselves bigtime, Runtimes and power delivery on ARRMA cars are unbelievable mate. Newer Arrma cars respond well to good solid cell advanced battery tech. Tried and Tested.
Cheap ass batts will not give you the same outcome with Arrma / Spectrum gear but of course will still work.

Hows that new radio ? Better than stx2 as far as lag goes
Honestly i havent used the stx2 very much, i switched it out for a new radio right away. But this new radio seems to be good so far 😁
