I think that history will shine a bright light on Ulf. He would be a bigger name now but he appears very introverted and pushes others to the fore rather than take the limelight himself. A true musician.
That dissonance from 1:04 is intended, part of the music style of that theme. If you listen through out you will hear than he changes his "tuning" directly after that (as the bass is an unfretted instrument).
I did hear that also. Unfretted instruments are harder to maintain tuning I guess. I does make you go...hmmm... though. One would think that the more skilled a player is, the less this should be an issue.
Saw Ulf a few years ago live. didn't actually know who he was until the concert. A very under rated guitarist...
