God imagine the thoughts that were going in Rex's head in those 10 seconds... "Kill your traitor" "No... my friend.. I.. won't.." "She's betrayed you all" "Fives was right..." "FIND HIM.. FIVES.. FIND HIM. FIVESS"
"Find him. Fives. Find him! FIND HIM" always gives me chills. no time to say what's happening, so all he can do is direct her before the chip takes over.
The thing though that's most disturbing is that they're still fully conscious and screaming out in the back of their minds trying to stop but they are helpless other than to watch
I have to honestly say. MAN am I glad they made Rex follow Order 66. Like, it's also epic that they gave Ahsoka a reasonable way to remove it and bring Rex back. But I would have been SO annoyed if they just went with the stereotypical direction of "Oh Rex's willpower is too strong, so he can resist the inhibitor chip trough the power of friendship". And I am SO glad they didn't go with THAT direction. Having Rex fall victim to the inhibitor chip's control helps solidifying how powerful of a programming it was. NO clone would be able to go against it, hence why it was so incredibly effective.
Rex did resist the inhibitor chip due to having a stronger mind than most clones and non force sensitive people. However his resistance was short lived and futile. His resistance was about 10 seconds where he didn't fire on Ahsoka realised what was happening and told her to find Fives aka the information relating to him and the inhibitor chips. Like the rest he soon turned.
I'm a fan of subtleties, and I can't help not love details like the close up on Rex's hand shaking before dropping his helmet. He was instantly fighting against order 66. You have to wonder how much of that was because of the very conversation him and Ahsoka just had that moment prior. You also can't help but love Maul for just being a pure evil em-effer.
The scene before where he and Ahsoka salute and he gets the call, note how he turns and wanders into the dark, suggesting he's about to turn. Great stuff.
To be fair, the council can't exactly tell Ahsoka, already skeptical of them, that 'Hey, we're planning a possible coup if the Chancellor doesn't give up power!'
My favourite line from the Clone Wars. "Ahsoka it's all of us. The entire Grand Army of the Republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights."
@@captaindc3889 After. It works better after since you will understand more from Bad Batch. Or at least some things. Secondly, we don't know how longer will Bad Batch go on, and we don't wanna risk spoilers for Rebels.
Technically, I'd say Tails from the Jedi would be the best to go into next, especially since it's so short and deals with things that directly involved the Clone Wars series.
On Mel's Patreon, her lower tier has started Rebels, so I think RUclips will be getting that next. The higher tier has already finished it, and Tales Of The Jedi and is just about finished season 1 of Bad Batch as she wants to be clear for Mando starting soon.
After being thrown out of the order and almost out to death over circumstantial evidence, do you think Ahsoka would tell the council what Maul said about Anakin? Especially after Windu’s condescending remark.
Yup, big ego for that bald jedi master, he could share the information and be humble, but no.... What old jedi master Dooku said is true, the jedi council is already corrupt with big ego and shrouded their mind from the truth. They had failed to see the error in their ways, which why jedi fail and fall from within.
@@kingofrivia1248 Very true but there were other people who burned bridges with Anakin before he became Vader. Tarkin, Barriss Offee, and Commander Fox for example
This is the second most painful episode in the series to watch. Other clones didn't hesitate to complete their mission. Rex resists for several seconds before doing so because of what Ashoka means to him and to all of them. it is also interesting that the Jedi masters killed the clones without hesitation while the failed padawan did everything she could to not kill a clone by focusing on knocking them out and destroying their weapons. only one more to go than you really need to watch, Tales of the Jedi. Episodes 1,5 and 6 are all about Ashoka while 2,3 and 4 are all about Dooku. Very good and creates a lot of context for both characters.
I had just started dating this girl and I made her (a no Star Wars person) watch it live and bawled my eyes out and she was like “👀👀👀👀👀 wtf are you crying over a cartoon at midnight”
Windu is a jerk. Seeing Yoda still wanting Ahsoka back and referring to her as Jedi terms was kind of sad. 🥲 If only Ahsoka warned the Jedi about Anakin. Maybe they could've helped him. This episode and the next one left me in a state of emotion I never thought I'd feel from a show. 😭😭 The music (especially Anakin's Dark Deeds), Rex fighting the order, him telling Ahsoka about Fives, the tear he had fighting the chip and when Ahsoka took off his helmet. If Rex wasn't able to fight it, Ahsoka wouldn't have known how to save him, and other events would've been so different.

The very best of the Clone Wars.
These episodes are ridiculously cinematic.
If you google it, there is a fan made siege of mandalore movie cut with an opening crawl and everything.

Fives didn’t die in vain…
The most heartbreaking episode of Clone Wars

One of my favorite jokes is:
Vader kills people in hallways
Kylo Ren kills hallways
Maul *uses the hallway* to kill people

Such a good episode, oh my goodness. I cried so hard when Rex turned on her and harder when his chip was removed. So good.

What would have if the Jedi succeed in taking over the republic would it's army still follow them
My favourite line from the Clone Wars.
"Ahsoka it's all of us. The entire Grand Army of the Republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights."
The worse part of Ahsoka not saying anything, Anakin would still be just outside the communication room Mace was at.
Nobody would tell each other the truth, except Maul.
Another reminder: After this Rebels is next.
Otherwise, my heart was racing when I first watched this episode too.

How would she find out Anakin is Vader through the news? Nobody knows who Vader is aside from Obi-Wan and Yoda.

Best clone wars episode
Mace Windu goofed. Major time. Again. He has the empathy of a toaster.
This Season was unfortunately aired after chronologicaly later pieces of Star Wars animated content so we got spoiled on a lot of things with Rebels.

The Siege of Mandalore is the best Star Wars movie. yep. I said it.
