Tim, North Cascade Hwy is rated as number 1 ride in Washington St. It’s obviously a spectacular ride. If you’re ever back here you should try the number 2 rated Washington ride- Windy Ridge. It’s the access road to Windy Ridge Mt St Helens observatory. It’s runs off of NF 25 Eric
I love how you started this segment with minimal research/planning but then had such a wonderful experience. I often plan too much, this video was a good lesson for me to allow life to happen on life’s terms(-:
Hey Tim! WA SR-20, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ride in this area!!! Great roads and beautiful scenery. We ride the "Cascade Loop" every year about three times. probably my favorite ride in America. Hope you enjoyed the awesome scenery my friend. (Mike J)
That’s the PNW for ya. Most folks think PNW stands for Pacific North West but in actuality it stands for Pretty Nice Water😜 Another great vid Tim, thanks for bringing us along.
It's been snowing for 3 weeks in Chicago and after searching for "motorcycle adventure on sunny days in mountain" on RUclips to cheer myself up, I came across your video! It literally warmed my heart to see the sun and the mountains... Thank you!!!
Washington State has a lot of variety to offer - from the ocean to mountains, rain forests on the west side to drier land on the east side, two mountain ranges and volcanoes as well, with multiple large national and state parks. But not much fun to ride once the rain and dark arrive in mid September.
Terrific place to visit! I lived on the west side of those mountains on Mt Baker. Motorcycle heaven for sure! It was there I had a close encounter of the suicidal deer kind. They are much more beautiful critters when they stay on their side of the road rather than bounding in front of a motorcycle. Definitely a good idea to stay alert. Mountains, lush forest, water everywhere, and twisties for days. Yup, that’s Washington in a nutshell. Great vid!
Welcome to our neighborhood riding area. The Cascade Scenic Loop is an awesome tour for the beginning of the summer. Next time through, park by the Nehalem generating station and hike up to the waterfall behind the powerhouse. Amazing views for a rather short hike.
Tim, So cool to see you enjoying my backyard. I must have ridden the North Cascades 5 times this year on my way to the Wa BDR, Idaho BDR and just for a a few day rides out and about in the mountains. One of the best highways in the US IMHO. Enjoyed your Olympic tour as well. Living here, I forget sometimes what a wonderful place this is. FYI.. there is a 70% all dirt route around the Olympic Peninsula. I've been meaning to post a video of our "Olympic BDR". It is so wonderful, I rode it 3 times this year with friends and once with my wife. If you ever have an inkling, I'd ride that with you, Ride safe and take care ~GrizzLee
Hi from Kiwi land Tim. Now that's the way to finish a video. Liked the walk along the footpath. It doesn't get much better than that and..... the deer. Great stuff.
I have been riding North Cascades from the beginning in the early 70's in fact we were camping at Colonial Creek campground when the cats were making there cut up to the first viewpoint, nest time go to Diablo dam and ride across it.
Thanks for sharing this. When the COVID situation gets better, we want to explore the park. For now, though, we can watch motorcycle travel videos and dream....
Your video really took me back to my Three Corners Tour that I did last May and June. I also rode through this park as I started back east after visiting the Canadian border and standing on that corner. The landscape looked very different than when I was there! I recommend that you plan another trip during the spring thaw (mid to late May). The ridges are still snow covered. The streams that you showed in your video are rapid flowing and often angry rivers. I too love all the water features during my rides. The waterfalls are even more spectacular. Hope you get to check it out! Safe riding!!!
Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. Few get to experience what u are doing, day after day..your editing and music makes my morning coffee that much richer. Safe travels my friend. The flat lands of Kansas fade in comparison.lol Dennis C.
Wow Tim! I've wanted to see Olympic NP since I was a kid but Northern Cascades just made it on my bucket list also. That's positively breathtaking, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this. I have lived in Seattle for 20 years and am moving back to Chicago. I have done a lot of riding in the PNW and this video captured a lot of the places I will miss. And I never get enough photos for sure.
Thanks Tim! Great video, great music! I always listen with headphones. The view from Washington Pass is one of the best. You picked a good time to go across the North Cascades Hwy. The traffic is very heavy during peak vacation time. Stay safe.
If you get over by Anacortes be sure to ride to the top of Mt. Erie on Fidalgo Island (attached to mainland) got the best free view towards the San Juan’s and up into Canada
I never sleep more soundly than when I am either by the ocean or a mountain river/creek that flows. The sound of water gently lapping at the beech or bubbling over rocks soothes my soul somehow. Looking at a large lake or the ocean mesmerizes my also. When you spend much time in a house or office and the horizon is the wall in front of you having the ability to looks miles to the horizon becomes spellbinding. Nice video post.
I've seen almost all of your videos and I can see you love water, beautifull waters like today's video. Man, i wish i could ride with you and take my fly rod to all those rivers you show us. I love riding and fishing. thaks Tim for your videos.
That definitely is one of my favourites rides when riding down south of the border. Beautiful scenery and some really nice roads. We usually are en route through to Winthrop, WA. It is a really great old cowboy town that time somehow has forgot. All the best!!
It's hard not to watch your channel. I want to save them to get me through the winter but I can't. I'll be in the Cascades hopefully next year with a couple weeks travel in Washington and Oregon then on up to Alaska. Your video was breathtaking. Thanks so much!!
Oh man i love watching your videos. You inspire me to travel. Well i only have a suzuki DR200 i think i can make it with that little motorcycle. Thank you.
LOL I'm in th kitchen making tacos, its is Tuesday, anyhow I got my phone on the counter, I got RUclips on autoplay and then I hear all the western music, I thought one of those western movies was coming on, FYI I did download Young Guns so I thought is was coming on Cool video I love the pacific northwest, I'm planning a trip to Seattle next spring.
Another great video Tim. I didn’t know Washington was so beautiful. I’m like you, attracted to water like a magnet. I love lakes, rivers, waterfalls etc. so peaceful and relaxing. Nothing beats camping by a river or a creek, and waking to the sounds of running water. I need to go camping, QUICKLY! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe. Mike
Tim, all I can say is WOW! Great video, and the scenery, geez. I have found that being on a motorcycle makes everything just a little more magical. That along with realizing it’s such a gift to get to enjoy it all and taking it all in rather than just riding past. Thanks for sharing this with us! Stay well my friend. 🤙🏼
Back section of the bike lookin a bit untidy Bro.Tell me being so close to those wild streams isn't it just the epitome' of WATER! Fresh, clear and clean. Oregon boy, down in the AZ, envious of your trip. oh, and good camera work.
Awe yeah!!! Now you’re in my neck of the woods! Glad to see you enjoying it!! I’ve had many a great weekend adventure out here! Feels good to see you on the same roads and standing In the same places. Really feels like sharing the world together. I too, love being around water, especially running water! Hope u got a chance to take a sip from one of the cascades. Happy trails!
I know. I went for the harley guiness record at paris harley. Had to come home unfortunately after that. Took me 26 hours to ride 1,200 miles. It was great
Wow, but you missed the best view. Harts pass lookout. Highest dirt road in Washington. 7300feet. Old WWII enemy plane look out tower. Its a must on that ride. Seeya 50times around
Another one to at to the list of want to see places. I wish you would say (or post in description) when it was that you were doing the filming so we can say this looks like a good time of year to visit there etc, I been watching since the start of your trip but have lost track of time line.
Beautiful area, I rode through there last summer, can't wait to explore some more up there, this is right outside my back door about 150 miles north. Glad you got to experience a little piece of God's country.
I live in South Africa where we have some spectacular scenery but this is equally beautiful with soaring mountains, valleys with crystal clear rivers and beautiful trees everywhere. Truly beautiful and nicely presented. One question; where do you get your music?. On this episode it's great. Greetings from Cape Town

I rode through there a few years ago. One of the best days I’ve spent on a motorcycle.
Tim, I've ridden in all 48 states plus D.C. Because of you I've parked an adventure bike next to my tourer. :-)
Glad to hear it! I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much. Have fun!

Scenery and twisties. A magical combination for motorcyclists.
It really is!
The entire Cascade loop is almost 500 miles if you ferry to Whidbey island. By far the best ride in Washington. Planning my 4th trip next month
My backyard. Ride the Cascade loop a couple times a year. Spring then fall. Beautiful ride with fun twisty roads.
You have a beautiful backyard! There is some amazing riding around there!
Road thru West to east summer 2015, very beautiful.
