Theyre not catchy. people only say that because gan cubes have the lightest turning and smoothest corner cutting, so it’s uncontrollable for alot of people but can be fixed with setup and practice unless its just not your turning style.
@@StretfordBear it makes me wonder, can we put GAN 13 or GAN 14/Pro edge pieces into the GAN 15, to return repelling edge magnets. The GAN 15 doesn’t have them.
Oh whaaaat no edge-core repelling mags, they REALLY went back to the 12. I like it. Think Moyu’s choice to go the opposite direction with the 20mag bc is the more feature based one vs performance. I find the v10 to have too much of a magnetic feel, akin to the moretry tianma, in that I want to feel in control of the turns but they feel way too automatic. Love the 12, 15 looks like a decent side/upgrade being lighter and having the right kind of adjustability.
@@AveryHyena Unless it’s a 20-magnet ball core, I don’t see how that’s possible. Magnets work on polarity, no? So the back half of the magnet would be the only thing in the same polarity as the core magnet, but wouldn’t be able to repel as it’s never near the core magnet, right?
@@AveryHyena atleast with the gan12, the auto-completion of turns is just really prominent because of how small the internal radius of the corner-core mags is, as in the core mags are really close to the centre-most point of the cube, and the corner magnets stick all the way in so they’re attracting to almost 45 degrees
@@AveryHyena I assumed they did similar with the 15, as just by looking at it the magnets look like they do stick in much further than in the 13 and 14, where there are the edge repelling mags but the core magnets stick further out instead of corner mags extending far inward
I'd rather spend more time adjusting than, have little switch holes in the corners. However in the past adjustment pieces were left in the box at home, this was why I thought the switches were an upgrade. Having them in the case is good. Edit: before you mentioned GAN X, I was already thinking of the 356 X, it felt different to the newer ones, I love to know if it's a bit more of a return to that feeling. I think you described it as bubbly and the newer cubes a little catchy, however I don't know if that's the reason why.
I wonder why they removed edge core magnets, I thought they’d add a 20 magnet ball core, thanks for giving us a look inside, unlike cubicle or speedcubeshop
Be careful with the square center pieces. The reason why they are limited to the first batch of cubes only is because they don't work too well and can damage the edge when you put the last edge in.
@@SpeedCubeReviewalso, I’m not sure if you already read some opinions online (hopefully you didn’t) how does the GAN 15 feel compared to the previous double digit GAN cubes? Is it close to any of the previous models? If so, which one?
It's certainly light. I find I cannot judge the puzzles on feel as they are all too light for me, and personally, lighter ones cause me to assume "cheap." If I don't try to grip the puzzle hard, it's just a very easy to turn puzzle that is similar to many of the other recent Gan cubes.
Off topic question but I’m looking to buy dnm and I was wondering if it rusts my wrm v9 20 magnet ball core because the corner to core magnets is exposed and the metal rod that connects the center to the core does it rust over time?
It definitely rusts over time. But i dont think it is from the dnm, i think it only does that if you dont take care of it. Since i dont see other people having an issue with it. As for me, i quit cubing about 8-10 months ago which my v9 has just been sitting on the shelf for all that time. And now that i'm back i have to say it has rusted ALOT. Though this really wont impact the performance that much since most of the rusting happens on the head of the screw. It definitely is an issue though. But i dont think it is due to the dnm. Since the rod part isn't rusted that much.
Do the edges have edge magnets like edge to core? I have the gan thirten and are the magnets hot swap able? And are the gan 15 stronger corner to core magnets than the thirtens?
@@anicon07 thanks for letting me know that i dont really like them bc to much of a boost! Kind wish they did core mags like moyu. Gan is basically just yufanu cube one just look at core mags

I actually think moyu fits my turning style better and also that they have made customisation a lot more simpler. The GAN has got it all cluttered and messed up I guess

@SpeedCubeReview I laughed when that happened, because yesterday I did exactly the same thing while changing the springs on my iCarry. Had a similar reaction too :D
