I have the impression that although the USA win many medals during every olympic games, the avarage US American has no idea about sports outside the ones that are popular in the US? I say this as someone not from the US and my country hardly ever wins but a few medals. The social cost of making a true accusation is still often really high so you're not being totally unreasonable by taking the claim seriously. If the victim is lucky enough to have the legal system take them seriously it's not an easy ask for them to constantly relive their experience to a series of several strangers. There's also factors of retaliation, and if the accused has any degree of influence you could be incredibly alienated etc etc. I'm not asking you to default to "believe all women". I'm making the case that your skepticism should be tempered with understanding the social realities of making an accusation.

If Sony wants to find its Call of Duty they're gonna have to stomach the potential failure of Concord and take it as a learning opportunity. If there's talent in that team, and assuming they won't just leave, Sony needs to work with them and find a way to succeed. The item 'lexicography' that we know it to be today is from World of Warcraft (WoW). Green -> Blue -> Purple -> Orange. Diablo II had something similar but the colors were not necessarily related to rarity (Green were set items). Borderlands was one of the first to copy it and popularize it outside of WoW. Really cool hearing Symphony of the Night being discussed here as I recently delved deep into the game as it had been on my list for a while and finished the regular and inverted castle. One of the greatest games of all time from a gameplay and design perspective and it has made me really interested in other entries in the series. Absolutely phenomenal, great taste CDC! 👌

@@Garoth4582 Yeah tbh I just think Colin isn't bothered with "putting in the work" to get used to Souls games (not sure if that's the right way to put it, but hopefully you get what I mean). He's openly talked about how if he doesn't "get" a certain game or even a type of mechanic inside a game, he quickly gets bored and just wants to move on, so he'll look up a guide. He referenced puzzles in the likes of GOW or Uncharted (which are usually quite straightforward), as things he couldn't be assed figuring out, so he'll just look up the solution and move on. So I doubt he's ever gonna have the patience to fight a really tough Souls boss, and take the several tries it often needs to work out the patterns, learn the boss etc. Clearly he doesn't mind playing hard games, as some of those old school 2d games he loves are really tough - but I think he's so comfortable with that style of game that he doesn't mind the difficulty, and he doesn't come to modern challenging games with the same mindset It's funny because I think if he opened his mind up a bit to Souls games, he could really get into it. Especially Elden Ring which imo is much more accessible than the others, with how you can explore so much and overlevel, use summons etc. The type of exploration is that game is unmatched and I think Colin would appreciate the world if it was in a different game - he's just so set on the types of games he enjoys, and you're closing yourself off from things with that mindset - but that's fine of course, you like what you like

About the AC Shadows. The whole thing is kind stupid on both ends. People, clearly from the west, signing a petition asking the game to be cancelled. The statement, interestingly, came after a shareholders call. Someone questioned how the sales were going and Ubisoft representatives circled around and gave a very generic speech. My guess is they addressed it without addressing anything to calm the investors.
I've done every software beta for the PS5 since it launched, and I'm doing the current beta. I've never had a single issue with the betas. You guys should quit being lame and do them. For good Warhammer games you have Shadow of The Horned Rat, Dark Omen, Vermintide 1&2, and the Total War entries for fantasy. For 40k you have Dawn of War 1&2, Space Marine, Battlefleet Gothic, Mechanicus, Boltgun, and Rogue Trader (now that it should be mostly fixed).
Colin, I love you, but I don't understand what you don't understand about freezing and thawing. In the example you used the chicken goes in the freeze wet af, and when it thaws it's wet at still. Bread is super dry. So when it thaws there is a lot less condensation.

The social cost of making a true accusation is still often really high so you're not being totally unreasonable by taking the claim seriously. If the victim is lucky enough to have the legal system take them seriously it's not an easy ask for them to constantly relive their experience to a series of several strangers. There's also factors of retaliation, and if the accused has any degree of influence you could be incredibly alienated etc etc.
I'm not asking you to default to "believe all women". I'm making the case that your skepticism should be tempered with understanding the social realities of making an accusation.

Yasuke was never a legendary warrior as ubi soft claims, he was most likely a portugese slave, which fascinated the japanese lord because of his skin color, and when the japanese lord had fallen and his army was gone, and when a n enemy samurai approached yasuke he surrendered his sword instead of ifghting to death or take his own life like a "real" samurai would. and was spared because the japanese said he was a dumb animal and needed to go back to what he used to do, with the portugese. this isnt the legendary samurai warrior we all wanted to play as or the man everyone respected. this was literally just "we want a black guy". It baffles the mind that people are telling us that this is a great warrior of the sengoku era. and now we have trailers of yasuke with hip hop music smashing japanese samurais faces with clubs. its bizarre.

If Sony wants to find its Call of Duty they're gonna have to stomach the potential failure of Concord and take it as a learning opportunity. If there's talent in that team, and assuming they won't just leave, Sony needs to work with them and find a way to succeed. The item 'lexicography' that we know it to be today is from World of Warcraft (WoW). Green -> Blue -> Purple -> Orange. Really cool hearing Symphony of the Night being discussed here as I recently delved deep into the game as it had been on my list for a while and finished the regular and inverted castle. One of the greatest games of all time from a gameplay and design perspective and it has made me really interested in other entries in the series. Absolutely phenomenal, great taste CDC! 👌

@JoltinJoe yeah and Colin has proven himself wrong so many times. He pushes things away because he believes he won't enjoy them and then when he actually tries it he realizes he was wrong. He has tried souls games but only because of outside force. If he would go in open minded I still believe he would enjoy them. Obviously though that's an assumption on my part.
@@Garoth4582 Yeah tbh I just think Colin isn't bothered with "putting in the work" to get used to Souls games (not sure if that's the right way to put it, but hopefully you get what I mean). He's openly talked about how if he doesn't "get" a certain game or even a type of mechanic inside a game, he quickly gets bored and just wants to move on, so he'll look up a guide. He referenced puzzles in the likes of GOW or Uncharted (which are usually quite straightforward), as things he couldn't be assed figuring out, so he'll just look up the solution and move on. So I doubt he's ever gonna have the patience to fight a really tough Souls boss, and take the several tries it often needs to work out the patterns, learn the boss etc. Clearly he doesn't mind playing hard games, as some of those old school 2d games he loves are really tough - but I think he's so comfortable with that style of game that he doesn't mind the difficulty, and he doesn't come to modern challenging games with the same mindset
It's funny because I think if he opened his mind up a bit to Souls games, he could really get into it. Especially Elden Ring which imo is much more accessible than the others, with how you can explore so much and overlevel, use summons etc. The type of exploration is that game is unmatched and I think Colin would appreciate the world if it was in a different game - he's just so set on the types of games he enjoys, and you're closing yourself off from things with that mindset - but that's fine of course, you like what you like

About the AC Shadows. The whole thing is kind stupid on both ends. People, clearly from the west, signing a petition asking the game to be cancelled. Others saying "but it's not historically accurate" when Ubisoft tried to push Yasuke as a real Samurai when their main source was a guy editing wikipedia citing himself.
The statement, interestingly, came after a shareholders call. Someone questioned how the sales were going and Ubisoft representatives circled around and gave a very generic speech. My guess is they addressed it without addressing anything to calm the investors.

For DnD games you guys missed that Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate 1-3, Icewind Dale 1&2, and Neverwinter Nights 1&2 are all DnD games that were very well received and scored very well.
For good Warhammer games you have Shadow of The Horned Rat, Dark Omen, Vermintide 1&2, and the Total War entries for fantasy. For 40k you have Dawn of War 1&2, Space Marine, Battlefleet Gothic, Mechanicus, Boltgun, and Rogue Trader (now that it should be mostly fixed).

Colin, I love you, but I don't understand what you don't understand about freezing and thawing. In the example you used the chicken goes in the freeze wet af, and when it thaws it's wet at still. Bread is super dry. So when it thaws there is a lot less condensation.
