I love them all. Twinkie tone in the Saturday Nite Sing performance sounded similar to Denise. Gotta love Dorinda. The way riffs and runs through both her full voice and falsetto. #1 It's Twinkie for me all day and night. There's something about that clean tone, it's almost childlike and the texture of her voice is indescribable. #2 Denise comes in at a CLOSE second. Denise said her mom didn’t train them as singing soprano alto and tenor she trained them all as soprano. Her snd karen were the high sopranos and dorinda and Jacky were the low sopranos and Twinkie was the middle having the most extensive range out of all her sisters. All 5 sisters are natural sopranos. Niecy always held down Soprano, but also sung Alto with Jackie or Dorinda when needed. She and Twinkie have always had range. I know a lot of people don't realize, or remember, that Niecy and Twinkie was always on the road more singing with the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark more than the others.
I think the key to the Clark Sister's magic is their consistent harmony. The most MAGICAL Clark Sound will ALWAYS be Karen & Neicy on top, Dorinda and Jacky on alto, and Twinkie on the bottom. Also, there's a difference between singing a soprano part and being a soprano, which is another reason I will always default to Auntie Niecy on the top. It just fits like a glove.
Oh how I love the Clark sisters. They are certainly missing one of MATTIE'S GIRLS. Dr. Denise CLARK Bradford is the piece of the puzzle missing. She certainly held things down. Denise has this brightness to her voice. It sounds so light and gentle but she puts some real power in that thing when she want to.
