Enjoyed watching the video. As a senior citizen, I was looking at the practicality of using this device. At this early stage it looks like the Vision Pro is a solution looking for a problem. It will take a lot more to convince me this is a device I would ever consider purchasing.
Well said. I agree. It feels like something you'll use a couple times and then be done with it when the wow factor wears off. I just can't see myself interacting with the world through a headset on the daily. I don't want to.
@@justinorrell4287 i'm thinking more long-term. I'm thinking even before the contact lenses.. everyone wearing "fashionable"/comfortable/convenient glasses.. but also being emersed with digital stuff all in their faces. We saw at CES this year the debut of TRANSPARENT OLED screens lol. Maybe that's used in these headsets eventually. True pass-through.
So.. I’ve been an Apple user (and fanboy) for 34 years now. Saying this just to set the mood here. I was early adopter of many Apple products. Was definitely intrigued by the AVP but put off by the price. So I went ahead and bought a Meta Quest 3 early November. What I don’t understand is how wowed RUclipsrs are by certain aspects of the AVP that I have already experienced in the Quest 3. Like placing windows in space and having them stay rock solid in place. Have you guys seriously not tested a Quest 3 before test driving AVP? The more AVP reviews I see the more impressed I am with our two Quest 3s (yes my wife got one after playing Beat Saber and FitXR). Here is my verdict. The Quest 3 is 80% of the capabilities of AVP at ONE SEVENTH the price. Let that sink in. Then think about this: The Meta Quest 3 has Beat Saber, Eleven Table Tennis, Fitness Apps, 3D puzzles, Mac screen mirroring that does more than one screen even from a Hackintosh.. This situation is super super interesting. The VR/XR category has reached mass appeal finally. Apple is hyping the hell out of it. And Meta will definitely make sales.
apple do shit properly, the meta quest 3 just doesnt have the same level of finesse as the AVP, its not as powerful, the sensors are on a whole new level, the entire foundation of the device is rock solid and it will be usable for years. the meta quest 3 will be outdated within 2 years.
Thank you for your insights -- great points. I think a significant adoption barrier to the AVP (aside from price) is the fact that you have to have all your stuff in the Mac Ecosystem (ME) (phone, laptop, iMac, etc.). I understand why this is so for seamless integration. However, it will definitely prevent a non ME user (interested in the AVP only) from moving completely over from Microsoft/Android. The additional money and logistics needed to make the switch are major non-starters. As you've proven, these barriers don't exist in reverse for an Apple user wanting to adopt the the Quest 3
💯Agree, and I been using all Apple devices for last 16yrs (iphone pro, ipad pro, air pods pro, macbook air, apple tv, homepods, for my whole family of 4), this is a straight up public beta & developer device not what Apple wanted to build but what they could with the path they took an technology available today, just a first step toward real AR of tomorrow and that I will buy
The Disney Plus immersive environments are AMAZING. The theater one especially. I honestly bought this thinking I was going to return it, but now I want to keep it because I love being immersed in the headset. Apple has done it yet again.

No this reminds more like Lisa 1983 and Mac Portable 1983. And the first iPod Classic 2001. Lisa got replaced by Mac. Jobs hoped most for Lisa but that was a failure. So great that Jobs was responsible for both Lisa and Mac! We saw the video on this channel about PowerBook 100 in 1991 (by Sony's help) replacing Mac Portable. iPod Classic got replaced (by popularity) by iPod nano a few years later.

Wow I definitely missed the tech community videos. Because I am so busy with college, it is very hard to ever find time. Great seeing Mr luke Miani and his videos after a very long time. Probably will be the last time.
Thank you Luke. Just an excellent quick review and it answered a question I had about the immersive video. I am a 3d enthusiast and knew that the lenses on the iPhone were too close together for a true stereo effect without some kind of software wizardry. You are the first reviewer I've watched that recorded a video on the headset itself and confirmed it was better! Excellent!
It feels like a imagination or a Dream when you in the background full places of apps like on the outer space the moon mountains without the showing bedroom. So cool. It like a dream.
That was amazing! You're explaining the experience with the Vision Pro so clearly, way more than others do. Appreciate and enjoying your videos as always!
It feels as though this will all end up being minaturised and built into smaller and less odd glasses over time. The launch device seems to include a lot of clever innovations, which will just get better and better over time. This product definitely offers an impressive glimpse of the future.
Thanks for this. This was one of the more fun Vision Pro first tryouts I've seen. I hope you can do an in depth test on mirroring your Mac screen. I've been imagining that it's about the same as mirroring to an Apple TV, which for me at least results in some stuttering and lag. Do you think it's good enough to play a game on your Mac with it? (or will it even allow you to?) Does it give a good enough experience for editing videos and video playback from your Mac?
The AR objects were the most intriguing to me. It's one thing when your "spatial" app is just a screen floating in space, quite another when it's practically a real physical object. I'm picturing fidget toys, digital picture frames, media players, or even static stuff like plants and desk trinkets. The sorts of objects that make you feel at home, but you'd never want to travel with.
Luke's 'happy clap' really made me smile 🙂 I was first thinking "Hmmm, he doesn't really seem enthusiastic" (probably remembers how much it cost when reality sets in!). But, it does look really impressive & I think we can all appreciate the 'happy clap' when we have a great new toy! Really enjoyed the video, thank you.
As a pro who works everyday in the Adobe Creative Suite, if this could replace multiple monitors and reproduce accurate color, there may be a use case.
If you want immersive panoramas or a big screen TV, save the $3400 and get a Google Cardboard. I’m still waiting to learn what I NEED this for, others than playing around with it.
I bet you within 3 weeks you'll be reaching for your phone laptop and TV remote whenever you want to check your messages, write documents and watching movies, and the vision pro will get closer and closer to the cupboard.
It’s going to take some getting used to, but I don’t see why this couldn’t replace your Mac if you really wanted it to. Any new emerging tech takes time to adopt. When the PC was invented it was the really late gen-X/millennials that really started to use it. When the iPhone was made, it was really Gen-Z that started using it. I have no doubt that with MR and AI, Gen Alpha will be the ones to majorly adopt and understand it in comparison to other generations, just because they would’ve grown up with it, they don’t have to rewire their brains. For us though, it might take a minute. Personally I’m down with the direction we’re going in, it’s just too big and heavy right now, and hopefully eye strain won’t be an issue, but assuming you can put this thing on in less than 10 seconds, I mean that’s comparable to opening your laptop and waiting for your Apple Watch to authenticate it.
@@evancrazyerror Living in a hot, sweaty , isolation face muffler, that I either have to live in, or strap to my head every time I want to do the simplest of things, and having an inferior 4k version of an infinite K reality, burn holes in my retinas, no thanks not for me !
You don't see why this couldn't replace your Mac? Then I don't think you have any experience with headsets. I've been with VR for the past 10 years and headsets are getting better but really, it's still not something you want to use to replace your computer with. By far! And even the best cameras and displays can't change that.
Great video. The Luke Miani of old! Straight tech geek review with honest responses. Funny and most importantly technologically well informed. I liked your avatar. Not acting like a too cool for this “bro” or feeding the haters to grow your channel. Loved it. Edit: play around a bit. Hi Luke, really like your video content. I find it informative and very helpful. When you recommended the use of the club video adapter, I was able to breath new life into my Apple 30 inch cinema display. Than You😊 So I have just a couple of questions? Who is the Vision Pro really designed for? And what problem is Apple trying to solve by introducing the Vision Pro?
How has the comfort been for you? For me, it's been HORRIBLE. I have multiple VR headset and this is by far the worst. I can only last like 20 minutes before I have to take it off. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried both bands... not sure :/
14:51 - while wearing $3500 googles, calls a $5 app a little pricey. 🤦🏻♂ I'm surprised to see the excitement though. In an earlier video, it seemed like the Apple Vision Pro was begrudgingly purchased as part of the job of being an Apple RUclipsr. Good video, nice presentation.
Hi Luke! Have you tried the Meta Quest 3? If so, which of the two do you think has wider FOV? Vision Pro or Meta Quest 3? Btw really great video. Tests, reactions, and impressions are as real as what anyone would be irl.
So there's no way to bring a small screen with you without pinching and holding? For example, keep the football game on while vacuuming the house. I know that's a special use case but there may be more. I assume you could walk around the house and do chores while FaceTime is active and it will stay with you as you wander....?
I’m glad you have reviewed the Apple Vision Pro. And living in Uk I know I can’t buy one anyway so that takes any pressure off. Maybe in a few years spacial computing will be standard, but at the moment it is a new product area for Apple and maybe aimed at developers, early adopters and RUclips reviewers, like your good self. I’m please to see how it works but I don’t want one and can’t buy one anyway.
It might also be somewhat blurry due to foveated rendering, which only sharply renders what you are directly looking at. Pretty useful in VR, but in a recording that you view on a normal screen, it’s a bit odd, we can see where you look.
10:02 i think you are supposed to use the video crown there to let the panorama surround you there. thats more like the "quick look" feature in finder.
Awesome video!!! I can’t wait to see how people choose to use this technology. My first thought is that my home office would become just a comfy chair in the corner of the room.
I think Apple could sync the content from Mac, iPad or iPhone screens you are looking on direct into the Vision Pro screen as a perfect overlay into the world view?
Most informative and interesting vision pro video so far, someone actually trying it instead of having opinions about it. And yes your face looks ridiculous when you took it off 😄
How often do you think Apple will refresh the Vision Pro? Do you think it will be yearly like the Apple Watch and iPhone or more similar to iPad / mac releases?
I can see Apple’s vision 😉😉😉 here, but we shouldn’t forget this is still a first gen product. Yes, it’s a lot of technology and it’s pushing to the future, but it’s still kinda rough around the edges and it seems inorganic and awkward. Basically the people who can afford it now are funding its development and hopefully this will become a product that feels appropriate for humans at some point down the road
The only use case long term I would have for this is for having extra displays with my MacBook. But the problem is you can only have a single display currently…
Are the speakers bone conduction or are they just speakers that everyone else in the room would hear? I’m excited for hopefully getting an Apple glasses type thing to compete with echo frames, but connects to all my devices, has Apple efficiency, and their quality of audio even if they can’t get AirPod quality and just the absolute best bone conduction or whatever tech they can use
I'm not sure, if this is already a feature, but using vision pro as a way to create more screens for your mac would be indredibly cool, just getting practically infinite screen real estate for 3500$ wouldn't be the best deal, but it would be definitely great to see
Great video Luke shows me alot about the vision pro. My biggest question.... Is is worth the $6333.00 AU dollars that i have to pay to buy one, that if it is ever released in AU. Price wise i will never have the money to afford one. THanks for the great video.
I have mixed views on it, however.. it would be incredible to be able to virtually walk through parks that are filmed in whatever 3D format that would allow such an immersive VR experience... perhaps even with sound. Or other incredible places.. like the ISS.. or experiencing historical events! or INTERACTING with them through AI! THE POSSIBILITIES! .. are all years away- but very feasible.

Awesome vid Luke. Thanks 🙏 heaps.
What are the options for AirPods and other Bluetooth audio devices?
The spatial videos are great if you have a subject near the camera. Not as good with far away landscapes
Can you lay the virtual keyboard on a desk and type that way?
It might also be somewhat blurry due to foveated rendering, which only sharply renders what you are directly looking at. Pretty useful in VR, but in a recording that you view on a normal screen, it’s a bit odd, we can see where you look.
The fact that you can read the iPhone through the Vision Pro is very cool.
What microphone do you use ?
Great fun and comprehensive video!
Great video, thanks a lot!
10:02 i think you are supposed to use the video crown there to let the panorama surround you there. thats more like the "quick look" feature in finder.
Great initial reaction bro, cheers.
Can’t wait for the tests like using it under scorching hot bright sunlight
Exciting 🎉, thanks Luke
I love your apartment man.
Watching these videos is like watching as a kid as my neighbor was showing off the new toys his rich parents bought him.
When I watch this I think “Oh man this would be cool to get!” Then I remember that it’s $3500! 😂😂

Hey Luke! After filming this video, did you experience any sort of migraine or headache due to eye strain?
What I want to know is what kind of lamp is that and where can I get one?!
This was avery informative video but I have not yet understood what exactly the Vision Pro is to be used for
It’s used to empty your bank account
the scrubbing part is why they should have a cursor come up when you need one. and not just rely only on the eye tracking
I'm not sure, if this is already a feature, but using vision pro as a way to create more screens for your mac would be indredibly cool, just getting practically infinite screen real estate for 3500$ wouldn't be the best deal, but it would be definitely great to see
It look awesome, but is it possible to work comfortable in excel and word or numbers and pages?

Wow, if future vison pro glasses become high resolution and advancing AI wow just be amazing.
Do you think I can use the Vision Pro instead of two Studio Display with a Mac Studio or MacBook Pro M3 Max ?
if I have prescription glasses, can I use Vision Pro?
Thanks for the informative video. And your perspectives. I wonder… how would brighter light in the room you were using it?
