I attended the Mestalla as an away fan - Valencia vs Sevilla.. I have to say, yes it is old and faces some issues, but it has so much character and the fans made it more beautiful.

Old stadiums are better if you aren’t actually going to them. The only thing they have over new stadiums is the nostalgia factor.

They even renovated/"face lifted" the old Mestalla a couple years ago. As you can see in the clip! With new orange/black seats, including the large bat. And also from the outside it looks like a state-of-the-art stadium today. The only thing missing is a rooftop. Which isn't really necessary in Valencia. The Nou Camp also only had one roof. Covering 20% of seats.
I remember that when Valencia announced to build a new stadium, they _(the president)_ even wanted to build the largest stadium in Spain. Even topping Camp Nou.
But also the final version looked very impressive!
Today I would just remain in the old and legendary Mestalla!

Crazy to think that Valencia is now staving off relegation, developing players to then sell on and just holding on being in La Liga to help reduce their debt as their aims.
Yet Atlètico, R Sociedad & Sevilla are basically achieving what Valencia wanted to do 7+ years ago. Got to hope Los Che don't do a Malaga due to board incompetence.
