The pick-a-door at the end was the creator's way of garnishing/perfecting his dish of hot garbage with a sprig of parsley in a final, brutal flourish.
This had almost everything. Speedrun, Puzzle, Trolls, Dev Star, Costume, Drunk Effect, Mid-airs, Breaking Springs, A Little Cheese, A Hail Mary, Skill, Luck and just a Sprinkling of Cheese. The only thing I wish we got to see is Mario getting big for Peach just one more time.

This video really felt like a proper sendoff. It had everything you want from a Ryu video. Fantastic platforming, cheese, puzzles, trolls, midairs and janky tricks. Love SMM2 but classic Ryu Mario Maker 1 has something intangible about it that Im really gonna miss
Before seeing the timer on the first level I was like "what do you mean? this is too easy for super expert" xD

Dude I just had an idea…. It’s a long level followed by pick a path but let’s say there’s 3 doors…. You pick door one…. There’s 3 pipes… you pick pipe one.. there’s 2 doors… you have to do that for each pipe and each door through all of the pickapaths until you can get to my tape. 😂😂😂 Carl you have taught me well!

Now that ryu figured out how to do midairs consistently with the WiiU pad, I know of a level he could play.

Very few people realize the true value of the separated d-pad on switch joycons. There are no accidental ground pounds and up throws if the inputs are not connected.
If you can nail mid-airs with that other controller, why don't you see if you can conquer the 20 mid-air level? For us?

The bowser cheese on the haunted game show was honestly the most Ryu way to end Mario maker 1 on.
PS4 dualshock had the exact same issue with false direction inputs! I kept triggering up inputs in a certain game, and it took me ages to realise the dpad was just gaslighting my thumbs. It's because the buttons are all one piece of plastic.
If this guy played as Luigi, he would be the perfect Mario Maker content creator.
I love that Ryu lost all interest in beating that shell kaizo level and was just focused on doing midairs over and over

It's not deal or no deal or the price is right. The other morning game show like pick a door, pick a pipe is let's make a deal. That show you pick between curtains or boxes or envelopes and sometimes there are prizes sometimes better prizes sometimes zonks that are worthless jokes.

All MM modes have the same mechanics, so it doesn't make a difference.

This content from ryu is what I will miss most from MM1. However, sometimes good things have to come to an end. Hopefully, mm3 comes out with some improvements

Must be "wonderful" to think what will happen to everyone's levels in this game. All that work gone because of nintendos soulless decisions.
The sad part is that the upkeep and storage costs of this game are negligible. People weren't kidding when they said Nintendo is saving $20 a month with this decision. Not sure about the other games, but still, no reason to shut 100% of the WiiU/3DS online services at once.
