  • The Honda Ridgeline is more than just a daily driver. I put my truck to the test on numerous hunting, fishing, and camping trips to prove that this truck is capable of anything. In this video I explain how my truck has performed in conditions a person on an outdoors adventure may encounter. Enjoy the video!

I'm actually in the middle of deciding between the Ridgeline and the Pilot. I have 2 small boys, and want to get them into hunting and fishing when they get a bit older. I myself am not that experienced, so I probably won't be getting into anything too difficult anytime soon. Majority of time will be in city limits.
What are your thoughts on a Ridgeline vs a suv like a Pilot for a beginner outdoorsman with young kids? I know the pilot has a better AWD system, newer engine design, and better interior, but obviously missing the truck bed. How important is the bed for a beginner hunter?

Thank you for the comment! I’m glad to hear you’ll be getting your kids into hunting and fishing, some of my best memories are with my dad and brothers in the woods or on the lake. As far as the importance of the truck bed, I would say there are ways that you can make the pilot work and you don’t need the truck bed. I use my truck bed for my harvest (birds, deer, hopefully bear soon), my muddy boots and waders, and all my gear. Ways to make the pilot work would be for instance if you’re hunting deer or bear and you get one, you could use a hitch rack to haul them rather than putting them in the pilot, could use a large tub or have nice floor mats in the back of the pilot for muddy boots and waders, and with the seats folded down I’m sure you can fit a ton of gear in there and it’ll all stay dry! I hope this helps 🙂

I threw a deer in the back of my hybrid rav4 and still had room for me, 2 passengers,my crossbow, and my tree climber. Stop over thinking it. Go used, cheaper is better

@@Xoticfy more expensive. Toyotas right now are super inflated with their price.

What kind of question is this? Do dudes really think they need 3 lockers and 35s to go hunting? No, if you’re going that deep into the woods, you hike.

I agree with that, but in some instances you need to get a lot of gear way out there too. On a Wyoming hunt a couple years back we were miles out on some no maintenance roads where we were setting up a wall tent. So if we didn’t have the vehicle we did we wouldn’t have gotten that stuff out there, and couldn’t have hiked with a tent that size

Apparently there is such a thing as a stupid question….. a Prius or Corolla can be used for hunting and fishing trips

Thanks for the input zack, I was thinking more along the lines of bringing a raft on a hunting or fishing trip or a wall tent as I brought on a recent trip to the boundary waters. And neither of those would fit in a Prius or Corolla. But for day trips with not a l of gear I’m sure it would be fine
