This was super fun and very well produced! Only been to Paris once, but it made me happy to be reminded of it. Morrison’s grave, touring the catacombs, and sunset on the steps of the Sacred Heart cathedral are just a few of the memories that I’ll never forget. That and seeing how ridiculously lavish Versailles was, especially for its time. Thank you for sharing some of your trip!

The Greek writing is there because Jim was a huge fan of Greek and specifically Macedonian history and Alexander the Great. Jim even asked Jay Sebring (the famous stylist who was later killed by the Manson cult alongside Sharon Tate) to do his hair like Alexander the Great and there's a famous photo of him from a shoot with his hair like that. I'm glad you took us with you to his grave, I'm a massive fanboy of The Doors and Jim Morrison.

So sad that Morrisson's grave is protected by fences, back in 1996, my girlfriend at that time told me the tomb was epic!!! Full of graffitis, hippies smoking shiloms or on acid all around. I understand why they cleaned and protect the tomb but it is a bit sad I think.
You should take a trip down to the catacombs. Like, not a guided trip, but a real one with "cataphiles"(well they are guides as well but not official tourist guides). It's something you will never forget.

It was a close coffin burial and only one person knows (Pam) and she died some time after Jim. Jim had a fantasy of faking his death like one of his favoriate poet did.
The late Ray Manzarek who was the Doors keyboard player wanted the tomb opened to see if Jim was in there. Ray believed Jim was still alive and hiding out in Africa living on a river somewhere. He petitioned the French government to get the tomb opened and they refused to open it.
