    Why did you use imperial and not Delica units? Now I have no idea how big it is...
    Update: I did the research and here are the results. This light is .371 X .1415 X .144 open delicas OR .23715 X .6216 X .242 closed delicas.

    The display is a game changer for me. I can't count how many times I have replace batteries. Batteries I may not have needed to replace just due to the fact of I didn't know how much longer they would work for. And nobody wants to be out in the woods, walking a dog, under a house, in the attic, ect. And just have there light shut off. Some lights may go dim and give you some sort of warning the are low. But not my go to maglite. It just goes from on to off no dimming just off. The TUP will be one of the last two lights I will buy. Its plenty bright enough for just about any situation. And the fact you won't be "left in the dark" hahahahah about battery life. Is that reason. Even if it only had 200 max lumins. The display and knowing I will never be stranded without a light. WINNER in my book.

  • @vandraiss
    @vandraiss 5 лет назад +1

    It does not shut down in 30 seconds on Turbo due to thermal issues. It shuts down in 30 seconds because you have it in Demo mode. In Demo mode it will shut down in 30 seconds at any of the 5 power settings. Also in Demo mode when it goes out in 30 seconds you can press the power button again within 3 seconds it will stay on until you turn it off. You also can turn it on in Daily mode and it will stay on until it gets hot enough to activate the thermal protection system. Mine rums on turbo for 8 to 15 minutes depending on the ambient temperature. On a cold day it will probably run until the battery is exhausted.

    I love Nitecore. Their Nu25 is incredible. You get 5hrs at 190lum. A high CRI flood, and a red light and it's a head lamp. I have found non-headlamps flash lights to be utterly useless when you actually need a light. You can't even pick up dog feces with a flashlight which makes it worthless. Let alone of you actually have to change a tire or something. Now I use them when working on dirt bikes at night even though my garage has good light. Makes it easy to see when adjusting valves and such. Although I don't like non-headlamps I can appreciate that display!

    Mine arrived today. Right off the bat, I noticed it was very slippery, slick feeling. Call me a big critic, but the plastic lens sits flush with the big end of the flashlight that I might want to set it down on. I believe this was subject the lens to scratching very easily. Awkward feeling is an additional impression I got. Time will tell but at the moment I took it out of the box turned it on I regretted this purchase.

      @@sergiohegner8844 Well, it still works. I relegated it to a end table because I found it is not good to edc. Main reason is it has to be locked, then unlocked each use. Buttons are prone to be pressed accidentally if carried unlocked. I think the tip 2 has more going for it.

    Olight Baton series are far better lights in my opinion. You can wirelessly charge them, avoiding the charging port issue, or you can throw in a standard cr123 battery and not have to wait for it to recharge. I use the Baton mini, its 600 lumens and small enough to fit comfortably in the change pocket of my jeans. Got one in titanium, solid brass, and solid copper.

    Nice review Nick, but you skip one important aspect of this flashlight. Its form factor is to impress collectors like myself. There are many ppl with alot of flashlights, and many of them will want this strange little thing. I know i do, ill buy it when specialised sites in my country will sell it. For a regular user, imho the best flashlight is one with AA batteries. For hunters, some with 18650.

    No one could possibly know what those measurements are in freedom units.

  • @ariip
    @ariip 5 лет назад

    The should have other modes between 200 and 1000. That is too wide a spread. They could have a 300, 500 or maybe 6 or 700 as well. 200 is too low many times and 300-500 would be much better and you could use if for longer. A short limited on time at 1000 lumens seems kind of useless. From the videos the 200 on this does not seem nearly as bright as my 2aa 220 lumen terralux 220. I got these views of this nightcore tup from other videos. My terralux 220 is probably putting out less than the rated 220 as well because I am using nimh rechargables. That is because as we now, the nimhs are going to have a slightly lower voltage that regular aa batteries. The lens on this nightcore tup looks to be an inferior design however I do like the lock out ability and information screen but can go either way on a built in battery apposed to a battery you swap. I do not like the idea of having to have it tethered to a charging cord if I really need it then have to wait. For my pocket I use an Eagletac d25c which uses 1 cr123 which does 408 lumens which is a much better and brighter amount. The only negative of that is occasionally the end button can get pressed in, in my pocket even though it is recessed a little bit and has a nice clicky response.
