Here is dictionary definition of apex predator "a predator at the top of a food chain that is not preyed upon by any other animal" Basically apex predator is a top predator that doesn't have predators of its own. So by that definition sharks can't be apex predators since they have natural predator.....dolphins, orcas more precisely. By that definition even polar bears and Leopard seals can't be apex predators...for obvious reasons....

We were walking and I saw something on the beach and started working my legs to get there to see it. Turned out to be a juvenile hammerhead. My uncle, a former linebacker for Texas A&M, caught up to me and wouldn't let me touch it. I was pretty sure it was dead, but they weren't changing their mind. Pooh!

    I enjoy watching documentaries about sharks, and am glad that there are dedicated conservationists out there who are trying to save them. One of the statements that was said in this documentary that really got my attention was that if all sharks went extinct, the ocean would become a pitre dish of diseases because there are no sharks to eat dying or dead marine animals. If this isn’t enough for the general public to see how important sharks are to the ecosystem then I don’t know what is!
    Of all the species of sharks, I think Tiger Sharks are my favorite to learn about.
    But I would be too afraid to be in the ocean with sharks, especially big ones, they would definitely sense my fear! I really have to give those professional divers who swim with these animals some major credit!

And it still seems like a lot of people don't think they're actually "cute", but personally I think they're adorable, just like all the other animals. They're beautiful, lovable and very, VERY important creatures that keep our oceans clean...something that's not easy to do when people keep flooding them with garbage and tearing up reefs with deep-sea fishing. Anyway, great video, like all of them on your channel! Thanks for sharing!

      @MisterJackson2U 6 месяцев назад

      @@MisterJackson2U A Hammerhead Shark and a Whale Shark are both species of Shark that have no natural predators and are at the top of their food chain....the Hammerhead eats Rays and it isn't anythings natural prey species, A Whale Shark eats krill and isn't anythings natural food source by you're definitions then.....again showing it's not just a single apex predator per enviroment. You didn't need to prove my point, but thanks anyway
      An injured Orca attacked and killed by a Great White Shark must mean that the Orca is no longer an apex predator anymore too then as it was preyed on by a Shark. Contrary to what you believe a Great White Shark has no natural predator...Orcas occasionally eat them when the opportunity presents itself but it isn't something they naturally target and prey on. So the GreatWhite is an apex predator as well. Every predator in the Ocean has at one point been preyed on by another species so by youre so literal a definition nothing is an apex predator as they have all been prey of something else at some point.....thats why it is worded "natural" predator. Its very easy to understand so not sure why you are having so much trouble getting it

    Yea, I feel like it isn't a good idea to pull up in a boat, Rev the engine up to let the sharks know you're there with food.....I'm far from being expert, but even I k know better than feeding a bear at a picnic table. What if a boat pulls up and they don't have a bucket full of chum for the sharks?

    The one woman said sharks aren't dangerous. Yea and bears are friendly you can have lunch with them....sharks attack plain and simple you can't tell what they are thinking...feeding like that your making them aware of you
