Rode the entire Creeper there and back, stayed in Abingdon. What a very cool rails-to-trails with White Top Mountain and then all the things to do around Abingdon. Will be back in 2024.
We rode the Virginia Creeper the weekend after your trip!! First time for us and we had a blast! (except for the flat tire my hubbie had about 2 miles before we got to Damascus that we couldn't repair ourselves) I had checked the week before we left and information said that everything was open, but I don't know if because it was a Sunday or due to COVID, we found few bathrooms (they were all boarded up!) and few places to get water. We will definitely be back to do that trail again, maybe a week or two into October and definitely NOT on a weekend! Thanks for sharing your video with us!
Great video. I recently got my wife, two daughters and myself new trek mtn bikes to start riding more often as a family. We’re going to do a few greenways and Salem lake when the weather warms up some. Most of all though, I look forward to making the trip to the Virginia Creeper. It seems like such a good ride where you don’t have to kill yourself and can coast most of it and enjoy the scenery. Again, great video!
Between Whitetop and Damascus there were 32 bridges and trestles. All but one was destroyed or badly damaged by the floods from Hurricane Helene. It will be years before that part of the trail is usable again. If ever.
Sold! I've added this to my list of rides for this summer. Thanks for the informative video, well done. BTW, did you ride the whole distance in one day?

In Florida all our trails are paved. It makes riding so much more awesome. No question this is a beautiful trail indeed. Nice work here.
Was able to ride this about 7yrs ago, absolutely loved it
We love the trail too!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video journal! Can't wait to watch the other installments!

We rode half out and back on two days during the filming; Abington to Damascus and Back, Damascus to end and back.
Where did she get her hat that goes on her helmet?
