My main issue with Angel deals is that unlike devil deals, they normally can’t be gotten at Basement 2 which is sometimes where you need one most; I mean, devil deals can give you massive DPS and even flight early on, which you might need to survive the caves. And of course, skipping that early devil deal means you have to wait until depths 1 to get another confirmed devil deal, and even then you might not get an Angel deal. Just kind of frustrating...
I hope in repentance they make angel deals easier to come across, the amount of runs where I hope to find one for the whole run and proceed not to is crazy. Missing out on devil items and angel items
I mean. Right now, they're not too bad. Upon getting a Devil Room at Floor 2, And not making a deal, it'll give you a 50/50 Chance for the Angel Deals. Perhaps in Later updates it should be like, 65%.
The trinity sheild and the soul in my opinion should be lower on the list, and holy light and the relic much higher. Also (regarding number 4 and 5) If I were to choose between crown of light and the mind, I would pick crown of light any day. And God-head is slightly better in my opinion if you know how to manipulate the aura to stay on the enemy. Sorry if I sounded like I'm hating, but those are my thoughts. Great video btw.
@@OlexaYT Most players (including myself) tend to hope for items that affects the damage or dps, because if you kill them faster, they can't hurt you, and items that give you hp or prevents you from taking damage are a second priority. That's pretty much how the game works. Those 2 books could be considered overused because they show up all the time, but they are ridiculously strong, I mean you can win a run with one of them and below-average stats
I’m not sure they’re as ridiculously strong as you think... one heart every 6 rooms isn’t that strong. They’re fine, but strong is a tough word to use there

I was wondering whether you would put Godhead or Sac Heart at number one, and I agree with your choice, not only is the godhead aura weird to utilize, but Godhead is overriden with some items like Tech X or Brimstone, unlike Sac Heart which is not really something that can be overriden
Whenever I see Sacred Heart I always think back to the Eden run where I started with it and later got stuff like Tech X, Proptosis, Brimstone etc. It was an absolutely won run. And so very fun as well

Man I remember playing the original flash game and sacred heart was my favorite damage up -- no just favorite item in general to get, and while cooler items have been created, it still has a place in my heart.
I've always had a slight sway towards Angel deals, even back before AB+. While the method you get into one has always been a bit annoying to me, I ultimately win more runs where I took Angel deals over ones I took Devil deals. I guess I'm just a red-heart boy. I ain't too afraid of tanking damage in the game. I am both a fan of Samson as well as offensive use of orbitals, so that should tell you something. For that playstyle, giving away the most commonly replenishable HP in Devil deals feels too sketch. I need a really strong and compelling reason to forego Angel deals for Devil deal. Items like Succubus, Incubus and Ceremonial Robes are very tempting offers, but give me like Sacrificial Dagger and Maw of the Void and you can guarantee I'll take that deal. For the rest of the times however, I find the Angel Deal pool help me more. They give me the sustainability I need to keep rushing enemies. Trinity Shield would definitely be on my personal top 3, because it let's me grind enemies with cubes of meat and not feel the pain. Other than that, most of the listings here seem to check out in my opinion, besides a couple of changes I'd have done; *Spear of Destiny > Sworn Protector* Again, I'm an up-close kind of guy and while Spear of Destiny's hitbox can sometimes feel weird, I tend to get a good amount of use out of it. Give me flying on top of it and we're looking at a top-tier run. *Ring of Protection > The Halo* This item is, give and take, on par with The Soul for me. Their primary use is generally similar, but differ in their secondary function and how well they work defensively. Whereas The Soul will steer any shot fired away from you, Ring of Protection has a chance of deflecting shots back as homing tears against the opponent. The Soul is more reliable at deflecting, but Ring of Protection as more range in it's field of influence. Whereas The Soul gives you 2 soul hearts, Ring of Protection has a per-second tick of Isaac's damage dealt to enemies touching the ring. Honestly, it's a tough call to pick a favorite between the 2 for me. The Soul ultimately wins for being more reliable, but regardless, Ring of Protection is a guaranteed pick over The Halo for me, unless my run is catastrophically destitute of good damage.
My biggest problem and why I don't tend to go for angel deals is A) they lockout if you take a single devil deal but don't lock in if you take theirs. That means if you want to legit go for angel rooms a lot of times you'll be shit out of luck. And B) Angel Deals don't offer more than one item at a time. Giving you a choice but rarely if ever more than one. Whereas Devil deals can give you Abbadon, Brimstone and the Pact in the same room and you're free to take all if you have the health

You should have mentioned the Wafer/Sacrifice room Synnergy or being able to activate WoB or the photos in Moms Womb onwads much easyer since its harder to get to half a heart there

I just recently had a mutant spider, tech x, sacred heart, crickets head run. Best run I've ever had, and the funniest part is that it was mediocre - good up until depths 2. Up until then I had mutant and cursed eye, which was actually quite fun but it wasn't amazing or a run maker. On depths 2, I acquired cricket's head, then tech x, and then sacred heart after defeating Leg. Oh my god.
Jonathan Castillo I picked up brimstone on the first floor through a red chest teleport into a devil deal and the game only gave me 1 damage up the whole run. I lost on the womb with like 3.1 damage and decided to never touch brim when I have low damage again
I really like Trinity Shield moreso just because of personal preference. I mean, being able to run around and guard with a shield in any direction just makes the game feel more like games like the original Legend of Zelda, especially of you get something like Mom's Knife to go along with it.

When I take a breath of life, my holy waters splash on top of my prayer card, and creates a dead sea of scrolls 😂😜 Dead sea scrolls have killed me, but if the kamikadze is not part of it, its okay
Funny story, Breath of Life and Dead Sea Scrolls are way better than most understand. Breath is Life is incredible, but people don't know how to use it.

Yeah, I remember I was so excited to get Sacred Heart but in the end its contribution to my already lower than starting shot speed made it abysmally hard to shoot at some quick monsters. In terms of raw damage and synergies - sure, Sacred Heart rules them all. In terms of quality of life - godhead is your best bud
I'm really excited for the revelations expansion. Maybe it will reinvigorate the modding community just enough to keep the game alive another couple of years until they feel like releasing another expansion and claim its the "last expansion".
Well, thing is afterbirth + was actually intended to be the final expansion. The only reason it isn’t is due to Antibirth’s release, and due to how high quality the mod is, Edmund decided to work with the people who made the mod and make it an official expansion.
I think you can say devil deals are the more consistant better items but for higher cost (cause you know... angel deals don't have a cost) and on the other hand angel deals are high risk high reward rooms as there are also angel rooms that give the absolute trash you would never want to see. And while it does happen with devil deals as well, they are even much more options in the devil deal then in the angel deal making it the medium risk medium reward room that will help your run by a lot but will not turn a losing run into a 100% win run. For example dead cat while you are at half a hearth and have a rough time? Well yeah it is nice to have, but did it really change anything for other then if you are lost? Obviously tho there are also items that in the devil deal that make it pretty hard to lose a run at that point but they won't show up that often.
I honestly agree with number 1 cuz sacred heart is not only a classic if im correct you dont need to do anything to unlock it. Godhead however, requires you to earn all completion marks as the lost.

The only thing I can say about Sacred Heart that makes it overrated is this: sometimes the homing tries a bit too hard to hit someone and ultimately misses, but otherwise, it's still a must.
Top bomb synergies please? It may be a bit late for the 4th of July, but I'm still in the mood to watch some serious fireworks. That and some really good items synergize specifically with your bomb upgrades. Are you ready to welcome Repentance's big PAX stream debut with a real bang? As for this list there's an interesting factor you forgot that's one of the reasons to have some items in positions above others that most forget about: Some of these items don't need an unlock first so they're always there for you. Like Sacred Heart.
5:00 the reaso nthats better is that for a decent player a devil deal is guarenteed on the 2nd floor and after that every 3 floor often even more, whilst angel rooms beign 50% after the 3rd floor, plus angel rooms have many good items but thers only a few hardcore GOOD items whereas devil deals have loads of really good items so yo uhave a higher chance of getting them, als o i mean, angel rooms are free no price to get items and often yo ueven get blue fires to get more soul hearts and you need them if yo uwanna d oa mega stan run
These items are cool and all, but I never get any because of the empty angel rooms ab+ added. Just LOVE going into the angel room and finding nothing but 2 soul hearts.
Have a hard time agreeing with sacred heart over god head. The part of the run that is normally the diciest is really the middle. Most runs get off the rails as you get into it, especially if you are careful and thorough. However getting to depths with maybe only 1 good item is one of the most common ways to lose a run. And when it comes to just one good item, I'd almost always rather have godhead than sacred heart. Maybe the health it gives is worth a lot? More so, though, I really can't agree on sacred heart being better than Brimstone. Brimstone damage boost is huge, it's easy to hit with, infinite range, and can be charged pre-entering a room. IMO it's not even a close comparison.
Brimstone isn’t a huge damage boost though. A low damage brimstone run is not very good. And sacred heart is the largest damage boost in the entire game. I’m sticking with sacred heart
@@OlexaYT Brimstone may not up your damage stat, but the amount of total damage done by a single, 3.5 damage, blast, is still far greater than a single sacred heart tear. Brimstone is front loaded too, making it great for clearing rooms. That said, I'd be curious to do a bit of science - Which kills monstro faster, basic isaac with sacred heart, or basic Isaac with brimstone? Either way, not trying to force my opinion on anyone, just wanted to express it!

Nah I don’t consider unlocking items to misplace them in my lists. I assume everyone has full unlocks unless it’s something like Judas’ Shadow where it actively hurts your chances of unlocking other items
I never get a sacrifice room on cathedral (i dont have it lives yet) when i get wafer but i always get it without wafer, but i cant be that mad since i got an 0,1 angel deal on the 3rd day of playing the game
A little surprised there was no mention of trisagion, its a pretty nifty item, otherwise I more or less agree with the list, EXCEPT for one glaring thing... They aren't angel deals, they aren't really making a deal so much as simply giving you free "offerings". lol I know its nitpicky, but still.
Godhead is still the most exciting item to find, even if it's not the best, since it's the rarest one and you have to suffer a lot to unlock it. I still think sacred heart it's better tho.
I still disagree with God head not number one. The aura is a 4.5x damage multiplier (30% tear damage at 15/s) Now to the synergies. The only item that God head does not synergize with, which is not op on itself anyways, is technology 1. Mom's knife, Dr fetus, brimstone, tech x, all these items that don't synergize with godhead are a won run anyways.
Only trading health for an item counts as devil deal. If you don't pay health, you'll still have an angel chance. Some items can give you free devil deals, those also don't count. Chests, hearts, krampus item, all don't count.
I would've flipped a chair if Sacred Heart wasn't number 1 lol. I agree with all the cases in this list though. And I genuinely believe sacred heart is the best item in the game.
Also godhead is so hard to unlock and takes forever to unlock at that. Especially for newer players or players that aren't that good yet. Completing the whole post it note as the lost? Oof. How about sacred heart which is unlocked by default. Much better.
you can also buy rebirth and unlock godhead by completing a way smaller post it and then buy the dlc but you have to go through lost run without holy mantle (lol) And you have to unlock the lost the good ol' way by dying in particular rooms with particular charc and it's not as easy as finding a trinket and dying with it. (but it easier than unlocking the forgotten i think because you could use seeded runs)

Funny story, Breath of Life and Dead Sea Scrolls are way better than most understand. Breath is Life is incredible, but people don't know how to use it.

Yeah, I remember I was so excited to get Sacred Heart but in the end its contribution to my already lower than starting shot speed made it abysmally hard to shoot at some quick monsters. In terms of raw damage and synergies - sure, Sacred Heart rules them all. In terms of quality of life - godhead is your best bud
I'm really excited for the revelations expansion. Maybe it will reinvigorate the modding community just enough to keep the game alive another couple of years until they feel like releasing another expansion and claim its the "last expansion".
Well, thing is afterbirth + was actually intended to be the final expansion. The only reason it isn’t is due to Antibirth’s release, and due to how high quality the mod is, Edmund decided to work with the people who made the mod and make it an official expansion.
I think you can say devil deals are the more consistant better items but for higher cost (cause you know... angel deals don't have a cost) and on the other hand angel deals are high risk high reward rooms as there are also angel rooms that give the absolute trash you would never want to see. And while it does happen with devil deals as well, they are even much more options in the devil deal then in the angel deal making it the medium risk medium reward room that will help your run by a lot but will not turn a losing run into a 100% win run. For example dead cat while you are at half a hearth and have a rough time? Well yeah it is nice to have, but did it really change anything for other then if you are lost? Obviously tho there are also items that in the devil deal that make it pretty hard to lose a run at that point but they won't show up that often.
Sacred heart is the best item in the game, 100% agree! IT SYNERGIES WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING!

I honestly agree with number 1 cuz sacred heart is not only a classic if im correct you dont need to do anything to unlock it. Godhead however, requires you to earn all completion marks as the lost.

I wish Olexa did some videos about synergies in Rebirth. I unfortunately only have the option for rebirth on a um...3ds. Which can’t download mods. But while saving up for a gaming computer I play Rebirth. But nice vids keep it up bro!

The only thing I can say about Sacred Heart that makes it overrated is this: sometimes the homing tries a bit too hard to hit someone and ultimately misses, but otherwise, it's still a must.
Top bomb synergies please? It may be a bit late for the 4th of July, but I'm still in the mood to watch some serious fireworks. That and some really good items synergize specifically with your bomb upgrades. Are you ready to welcome Repentance's big PAX stream debut with a real bang? As for this list there's an interesting factor you forgot that's one of the reasons to have some items in positions above others that most forget about: Some of these items don't need an unlock first so they're always there for you. Like Sacred Heart.
I assume all people worried about top 10 lists have finished the game so unlocks don’t really play a factor for me

The best part of angel deal items? You can find most of them in treasure rooms
5:00 the reaso nthats better is that for a decent player a devil deal is guarenteed on the 2nd floor and after that every 3 floor often even more, whilst angel rooms beign 50% after the 3rd floor, plus angel rooms have many good items but thers only a few hardcore GOOD items whereas devil deals have loads of really good items so yo uhave a higher chance of getting them, als o i mean, angel rooms are free no price to get items and often yo ueven get blue fires to get more soul hearts and you need them if yo uwanna d oa mega stan run

That’s a rarity. It’s like a 96% chance an item spawns in AB+. Previous versions of the game it was wayyyy worse
Have a hard time agreeing with sacred heart over god head. The part of the run that is normally the diciest is really the middle. Most runs get off the rails as you get into it, especially if you are careful and thorough. However getting to depths with maybe only 1 good item is one of the most common ways to lose a run. And when it comes to just one good item, I'd almost always rather have godhead than sacred heart. Maybe the health it gives is worth a lot?
More so, though, I really can't agree on sacred heart being better than Brimstone. Brimstone damage boost is huge, it's easy to hit with, infinite range, and can be charged pre-entering a room. IMO it's not even a close comparison.
Brimstone isn’t a huge damage boost though. A low damage brimstone run is not very good. And sacred heart is the largest damage boost in the entire game. I’m sticking with sacred heart
@@OlexaYT Brimstone may not up your damage stat, but the amount of total damage done by a single, 3.5 damage, blast, is still far greater than a single sacred heart tear. Brimstone is front loaded too, making it great for clearing rooms. That said, I'd be curious to do a bit of science - Which kills monstro faster, basic isaac with sacred heart, or basic Isaac with brimstone? Either way, not trying to force my opinion on anyone, just wanted to express it!

Nah I don’t consider unlocking items to misplace them in my lists. I assume everyone has full unlocks unless it’s something like Judas’ Shadow where it actively hurts your chances of unlocking other items

I never get a sacrifice room on cathedral (i dont have it lives yet) when i get wafer but i always get it without wafer, but i cant be that mad since i got an 0,1 angel deal on the 3rd day of playing the game

Now to the synergies. The only item that God head does not synergize with, which is not op on itself anyways, is technology 1.
Mom's knife, Dr fetus, brimstone, tech x, all these items that don't synergize with godhead are a won run anyways.
Statistically speaking, sacred heart is the better item, and it synergizes and gives homing to everything.

Only trading health for an item counts as devil deal.
If you don't pay health, you'll still have an angel chance.
Some items can give you free devil deals, those also don't count.
Chests, hearts, krampus item, all don't count.

Also godhead is so hard to unlock and takes forever to unlock at that. Especially for newer players or players that aren't that good yet. Completing the whole post it note as the lost? Oof. How about sacred heart which is unlocked by default. Much better.
you can also buy rebirth and unlock godhead by completing a way smaller post it and then buy the dlc but you have to go through lost run without holy mantle (lol)
And you have to unlock the lost the good ol' way by dying in particular rooms with particular charc and it's not as easy as finding a trinket and dying with it. (but it easier than unlocking the forgotten i think because you could use seeded runs)
