His arc is complete when he gains self acceptance, actually apologizes to every person he's hurt and he doesn't even get the girl at the end, but it's fine because he even made peace with his evil version "nega scott". TLDR: scott is scummy not because of aged badly stuff, but because he's SUPPOSED to be scummy so he can learn to be better.

His thing with Knives was more of a “we’re in a relationship now but not really”.
Also if I'm misremembering, didn't he cheat on KNIVES with Ramona, not the other way around?

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
This video was so fun holy shit. The editing was really funny, and the VAs did an awesome job. Hopefully there’s another one in the works but no rush!
Okay, voice acting and jokes are amazing as usual, but I have to point out the panel editing!
Holy crap, the way each piece of dialogue is a new panel that slides in is so cool! It really adds to the comic aesthetic! It’s just so much fun to watch, even without the great jokes and voice acting.
And they way it just dissolves at the end when the plot goes off the rails and the plushies come back out is just perfect!
Knives’ VA did an absolute outstanding job I though that was her actual voice for a second
4:40 I disagree. It perfectly encapsulates the manic energy and style of the comic, not to mention the actual characterization of the cast
I agree with your statement, it's my favourite vid on this channel
Audibly emoted “YEAH 😎😎😎” when Wallace appeared. God damn RG god damn.
It honestly aged perfectly fine. A lot of people just have problems with flawed characters.
Scott's line are so well written, exactly what he would say in the comic
Bro I'm pretty sure Scott Dating a 17 year old was considered weird even back then. Like everyone was making fun of him for it and calling it out as weird
It was a running gag in the comics and movie. Everyone called him a creep for it. It was never condoned by the story.
knives's delivery when she screamed was pure gold

THE VOICES FOR THE CHARACTERS ARE SO GOOD this video is a masterpiece
These are now the canon voices imo
Ngl, when Wallace shows up, he manages to make me smile. Good job, guys. (Also, that meta joke about Michael Cera looking like Scott... hilarious)
I really like how for a voice over meme video, this is mostly true to the characters
Well to be completely honest, Scott cheated on Knives with Ramona
DEGEN SPOTTED.
@@fetch300 I'm sorry?
@@fetch300 are you calling me degenerate because I remember how The story goes? If you ever read Scott Pilgrim he was dating knives before he saw Ramona therefore he cheated on knives with Ramona.
@@fetch300 chronically online mf spotted.
He cheated on both of them technically by not immediately breaking up with knives but I see what you mean
I’m genuinely impressed with how accurate the writing of this video is to the source material.
That tie in game was still fun though.
Glad to see it get a new life
wallace is the objectively the best character, he has the balls to tell scott not to date knives and actually does something about it, he generally is just more responsible, he lets scott live with him for free, he just is chill.
edit cause i forgot to say this: he also intentionally didnt tell ramona about knives because he knows that scott made a bad decision dating knives but wants him to be happy with ramona and leaves it in the past.
Kim>
@@posobio your talking to a bisexual man, wallace will always be the best
Hey you can like him but Kim is the best. Even with her issues (which seemed really personal) Wallace is a guy that keeps took multiple males from their dates with that one girl. Kim calls everyone what they are. And seems to be willing to help them with truth
And I am a drummer when I was musical.
@@leodouskyron5671 ok, but wallace actually takes action to prevent, or stop scott being an asshole. like threatening to tell ramona about knives. wallace takes action, kim just calls people out
The voices are perfect matches! And the editing is so energetic to match!
Gods, don't forget how the movie and comic book had two different endings, one for Knives and one for Ramona
The series didn't age well, but it's still enjoyable for what it's worth.
Also kinda funny to hear the Kobeni voice for Knives. Fits WAY too well and the VA nailed it
Bro that's not the Kobeni VA
Not the same VA as Kobeni. They do sound a bit similar some times tho
Also the movie did have the same ending as the comic, but it was originally intended to be different
Though Knives is 18 by the end of the comic
>didnt age well
how.
Is it just me or These style of videos are very Fitting of Scott Pilgrim actual in world dialogue and humor?
God I wish Scott Pilgrim had more fan content like this. Was an absolute blast to watch
The voice acting here is so good, it just sells the characters of the comics incredibly well.
I expected this being a video essay about how some aspects of Scott Pilgrim aging poorly (mainly Scott dating Knives, a 17 year old) but wasn’t expecting a pretty well made and entertaining comic dub!
It was a surprise for sure, but a welcoming one!
It was a surprise for sure, but a welcoming one!
Exuse me, I don't read that story, but why she dated with him?
@@temin2776 He had a rough breakup with his last girlfriend, just wanted to distract himself. Knives, the 17 yo in question, thought she was so mature for dating him that she idolized him. But the most they did was holding hands once (maybe)
We need more Scott Pilgrim skit vids.

2:11 prowler theme
props to the editor for such high quality work on an empty stomach
this is the most random ass thing ive seen in 2 months and i love it
why
Oh man this is my new favorite RG33 video, I love Scott Pilgrim and this is great especially the little edits and references speaking of which man I love the editing on this one.
are people forgetting that scott being a bad person is literally the entire point of his character so that he can have something called "an arc". His thing at the beginning is that he's supposed to be a loser who behaves in loser activity because just can't accept who he is now and chooses to ignore his present situation.
A lot of people seem to have a hard time understanding that Ramona and Scott are MEANT to be shitty people by design, that's the point, it's like criticizing Walter White for being a bad person, like YEAH!! NO SHIT!!

I love Scott pilgrim, and I love RG33 for making such a short love letter to fans and the series, the call backs to the movie and even beautiful way the dialogue and pictures is turned into a motion comic is clever and very fun. Thank you RG33. This was my favorite video of yours.

Scott is fine. the only person im truly worried about is Edgar Wright, who thought Scott should be with Knives in the end. that was what he wanted as an ending.... it was only when test audiences rioted and the final volume of the comic came out with the ending did he realize he needed to reshoot the ending.
I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY RG33!! (AND ALL THE VOICE ACTORS!!)
The voice actors did a great job here, they actually sound like the characters which makes this seem like the anime came early.
God this is so good. The voice actors killed it and it had me laughing throughout

what a great fucking timeline: anime-related sketch creators makes a video about comic from 2010. i am so happy to see this.
I love how in every version of Scott Pilgrim, he's always like "how are you doing that with you're mouth?" from the beeps
Honestly these are on point perfect portrayals of each character Fr
The moral of the story is. Don’t be like Scott. But also. Sometimes bad people can change too
Scott Pilgrim is one of those dudes that would be into Superbad at 26 (Superbad was released in 2007, SP is set around 2004-2005).
I thought this was gonna be a rather shoddy analysis video about Scott Pilgrim
Instead I got the best thing ever
4:45 many things about Scott aged like milk, but goddam that soundtrack aged like fine wine
Can you tell me what's this soundtrack called?
@@iwanttooffmyselfwithahammer I mean, just look up Scott VS the world the game soundtrack, if it helps it’s made by amanmaguchi (sry if I butchered that name)

My compliments to the voice actors, for sounding so in-character.
Kim Pines, "The only sane one in this comic."
Now wait a damn minute- I read the entirety of the comics. Kim and Knives literally kissed when they were drunk. Where as Scott and Knives only held hands. They kissed once, when she turned 18 at some point in the series and it was terrible for everyone including you.
And to anyone who thinks Ramona deserves better, let me tell you that she has cheated at least 3 times throughout her relationships. Meanwhile Scott has only cheated once, as far as the information was told.
Fr tho, Superbad is straight kino, no cap. It unironically bangs AND bops. Just puttin' that out there.
It aged perfectly, you just never got it to begin with.
The absolute state of the Scott Pilgrim franchise
In his defence it was 2010, so...
In scott's defense, he and ramona were supposed to be god awful people and in the storie they were growing to be better versions pf themselves and the story never normalized the awful acts of scott and ramona
@@ktm6612 I think you meant "in the author's defense".
