Fantastic detailed and inspiring video. 🤩 Amazing job you did there, on one of my favourite pinball games. ❤️ Much thanks for this thorough presentation of the restauration process. It's a 7 year old video, so I hope you're still alive and well. 😊
I love to see the classic old machines from my day getting restored, thanks for giving This gem the love it deserves, also thanks to Gaz for commissioning the restore. If you add the sentimental value to the game value it is totally cost effective!
Wow. I cannot believe I own this!! You're a true legend Matt. Yes I have a CPR repro backglass and Marylin Roms to go in so it'll be ticketyboo. Great job mate.
Great video, wonderfully detailed explanation of the restoration process, and a fabulous result. Well done! I wish you were near me so I could have you refurbish my TOM.
Another great video. Been waiting for this since the Addams restoration many moons ago :) Be good to see the Tommy Restoration next door. Tommy is my favourite machine of all time! That Taxi as a Taxi Driver myself should do the miles for many decades to come. Great work! Regards David
Just discovered your channel. Looks like you stopped doing video's and you are not so active on Pinballinfo would be great if you continued your work. Amazing effort!
Thanks for your kind comments, yeah a bit disillusioned by a lot of the new guy's on pinball info so withdrawn from social media a bit. I guess that's how things move on! Take care my friend :-)
You will have to remove all the connectors from the boards (label them and take lots of photos) and push them down into the main cabinet. You can then disconnect the back box and separate it. It's not as daunting as it looks. Good luck!
Great video, only there is one major flaw here! When you decided to change the playfield, you didn't noticed it is a early Marilyn Monroe production run! Now you have a Marilyn playfield (33:21). But the backglass is a Lola!Due to copyright issues the name "Marilyn" was replaced with "Lola" The hair was changed form blonde to brown.I would not be happy when this was my pinball machine!
+John Bogaert Sorry my friend but I have, the new translate was in the post when I did the video, it now has the matching playfield, translate and rom's :-)
I noticed the Lola vs Marilyn conflict too. But I also noticed the "secretary" poster on your wall! (Thumbs up!) Additionally, please replace the incorrect colored rubbers on the flippers ASAP! Good vid & great game. I have a comparably nice Taxi & a CPR playfield in reserve should I ever take the plunge. Nice to see how much work this is before I jump into it. In fact, I might leave my game alone & sell the pf after seeing this. My hat is off to you sir.
You now have a mix-matched playfield and backglass! The playfield has Marilyn, but he backglass has Lola. Also, I bet you didn't change the rom, so that probably says Lola to. Nice restoration though. I actually thought you were going to restore the art with some paint and not a whole new playfield and side art.
What amazing expertise

Cheers mate, I have the rom's, going to put them in for Friday :-)
Beautiful job, great perseverance on your part. Love seeing System 11s brought back to their prime.

Superb work. How did you manage to get hold of a 'Marilyn' playfield?
Great work
Awesome job, enjoyed watching. I am wondering what you would charge for a job like this?

You are a true passionate, respect
Is there a trick to removing the back box? I am moving in a couple weeks and need to transport. Thanks for the help. Great video.

Would it have been easier and better to replace the GI cables with regular 18g wires than to replace all those staples and bear wires?
Another great video.
I'm seeking a pcb light board for underneath the Williams Taxi Topper. Do you have any leads on where to find one?

Aha, new roms waiting to go in (want to test it properly with old set-up first) and I am fairly sure Gaz has a new trans, well spotted though! :-)
I noticed that to and wandered if he knew
Great video. Nice work. I need you to do some videos for my website.
Thanks, your videos look fine!
Thx, Keep up the great work.
