As a parent it can make you feel so helpless. I felt absolutely horrible because my son had strep 2 months ago and I had no idea! It wasn't until I got it myself that I realized he did too. He never tells me when things hurt or if he's feeling sick.

I feel like it’s one of the toughest things not knowing if or why your kid is in pain. B has had strep in the past and her only symptom we knew about was vomiting. If she did not do that, we may have not known either.

Thank you for the reminder that we're not alone and other parents are going through it too.

We are an autism family as well. Our oldest is non verbal and youngest can talk. It is very different. Jordan can’t tell us what is wrong either. The only people who get it are other autism parents.

I'm sorry about the sickness. I hope you escaped it and Stacey and Braylee are feeling much better today. It was so nice to see that little bird enjoying the feeder. Perhaps word will spread and you soon will have more than one visitor.

So perfect pitch (absolute pitch) are two completely different things. Braylee not being familiar with the scale makes it impossible for her to have absolute pitch, because that requires naming a note when it's heard. However, relative pitch is being able to reproduce a sound after it's heard (time span doesn't matter), and be perfectly on pitch. You don't need to know the scale to have perfect relative pitch. I personally believe it's highly possible that Braylee had perfect relative pitch.

I hear you regarding feeling ISOLATED. I live alone in a 25ft motorhome with only my best friend Finn. Oh, Finn is my Service
Dog. I need Hospice Care now, but because it is so called, not Terminal, I live in horrible pain. I also live with Complex PTSD. Overwhelm and Meltdowns are a daily thing. I HATE the medical System. It's so BROKEN. SO I UNDERSTAND ISOLATION.
Hey miss B. Sorry you feel yucky.

I think Braille's musical talent is in this Gift from God category. She does not need music training right now. Her musical vocalizations are her own it is wonderful when you hear her.. because she is sharing her gift. Having perfect pitch happens with kids and whether it is an asset in music training or makes no difference in the scope of things is debatable. IMO'' you are so encourage her to do things she loves.....that is your support!

Daughter had a virus to . I feel since she 14 almost 15 getting some what easy because when she gets sick she stays and bed rather then doing her favorite chair that she does circle in . Really good about doing ice pops and eating dry foods when needing to get on her feet even better than me . Hope Braylee feels better .

Have you tried the Pedialyte packets? I like those a lot. They come in different flavors (I like the apple one hehee). And for wasps, I have this thing that I think is called a wasp deterrant and it is kind of shaped like a balloon, but it's more like the material a paper lantern is like. It is kinda greenish/tanish, but it looks enough like a wasp's nest that wasps won't want to start a new one near it. I mean I'm in California so I don't know if we have different regional wasps but you might want to look into that. It's worked for the past 10+ years, fingers crossed. I hope Braylee and Stacy feel better soon!

You can acknowledge how hard it is to not know how Braylee is feeling without blaming her. It is harder for a parent to help their child when the parent doesn't know how their child needs help.

I have Autism & Hypersensitivities to lots of foods/drinks. I need to take electrolytes frequently (almost everyday) for my POTS and other medical conditions. I have found that the pre-prepared liquid electrolytes like pedalyte or hydralyte in the liquid form are way too strong and overpowering for me. Instead I buy the tablet (dissolvable) versions and dilute in a LOT more water than suggested like 1L instead of the 250mls suggested. I also absolutely can’t stand some flavours over others and the ‘unflavoured’ or ‘no taste’ or lemonade versions are actually the worst tasting to me because they actually taste nothing like those things. Personally I like the Hydralyte Strawberry Kiwi & Fuzzy Peach flavours the best as they are sweet without the horrible sickening aftertaste. I’ve found the Blackcurrant & Lime flavours seem to be popular with other people. If you can I’d recommend seeing if you can buy a sample pack or ask your local chemist if they have any samples of different electrolyte brands/flavours to see if there’s a particular flavour or brand that she may prefer over another. To me just a different brand and flavour makes it go from absolutely impossible to drink and vomit inducing to tolerable to drink litres of it everyday (for example after 1 sip of Voost I knew it was a no go forever for me!)
I also find mixing with a similar flavoured drink rather than water makes it way better (for example mixing the blackcurrant flavour with blackcurrant juice. Alternatively a non caffeine Powerade or Gatorade do essentially the same thing except I find that those types of drinks usually have a much stronger and richer taste (and not in a good way), so for me personally I avoid those.
I know you don’t mix non-preferred foods into Braylee’s safe foods but if you can find a flavoured juice or drink that she doesn’t already drink, it may be worth mixing the electrolyte solution into that to see if she would prefer it over drinking a straight electrolyte solution.

My granddaughter has been sick this last week and is on antibiotics and she will not take medication, so they have to sneak it in her chocolate milk. Sometimes she can tell and won’t drink it.

She’s very very sensitive to taste. Unfortunately if we did that, we would lose her trust and she would stop trying new things to eat and drink. She would also not eat or drink anything we prepare for her. We learned that years ago when we tried to mix extra things in.
