it is good that the truck shuts down , u do not want to waste fuel and pollute the environment by running a 5.9l diesel for 2hrs just for the ac... bad thing is that their is no apu option like in trucks of us or Europe u can get another small engine that will run an HVAC system and provide electrical power when the main engine is off without taking much fuel and making noise! .... also this truck has heater too u have to turn the dial into hot position from cold position...

But I think BS7 or BS8 engine Truck models me APU k option compulssory kar diya Jayega jaise ki BS4 se AC/blower optional h aur TATA trucks me SCR(and i-EGR in Ashok leyland) aur BS6 me sare diesel trucks me SCR AD-Blue Urea filling compulssory kiya gaya h waisa hi APU ke upar Government decision degi. Because temperatures are rising day by day and Truck drivers must feel more comfortable while driving so there will be more people who can come into Truck driving work. already Transport sector of India facing huge problems.
@@abhijeetchavan13 an apu would cost around 70k to fit , yes truck drivers comfort and safety should be top priority . there needs to be eld on every truck to track drivers & give them proper rest after every 4hrs of drive & one can only drive 12hrs or 8hrs a day depending on their age . and there needs to be minimum wage & police should make sure there is no illegal tolls , i see this everywhere locals collecting money from truck drivers for puja purpose but i dont think puja happens all year long , apu can needs to be mandatory for many reasons like a refrigerated truck already have a small engine in the trailer to keep the food cool .. & they should make refrigerated trucks mandatory for transport of food items , specially fish & meet r transported by ice and many time they add preservatives to the fish which is harmful for humans to consume + it makes them taste bad ,

The Cowl body is popular due to cabin and interior customization where only blower is available(since BS3,sala bs2 me toh blower bhi nahi tha bc Indian technology) but none of Indian Manufacturer make AC cowl trucks. remaining part is ac truck is 30-56k costlier than non ac truck. already Transport company owner thinks about costings. He thought that instead of buying AC truck he can go for non-AC truck+1 year insurance plan. AC truck also give less fuel economy comparing with non-ac truck. finally owner goes for non-ac cheap option but ultimately driver suffers a lot inside cabin 50 degree summer and 3 degree celsius winter cabin temperature.

These are extremely underpowered truck for their carrying capacity. These trucks should have 450 to 500 HP power and higher displacement engines. Slow crawling trucks were the reason for the trafic jams on hilly stretch.
more HP for the heavy duty vehicle can become difficult to control when the truck is fully loaded in hilly areas. Afterall it's a question of safety of the material also.
