- Yeah, I know I said the next video would be about the other companions, but I want to spend a bit more time on the mechanic's design, in the meantime, building the world of the Cryptic Galapagos to give the world more texture. The Salt-scales are the most advanced iguanas on the Galapagos. They are protected by Malachite Knights, Dangerous armored Iguana's with a mission of protecting those who cannot protect themselves! I really enjoyed designing the armor and it took a bit of time drawing all these art pieces otherwise I would have uploaded a video earlier! I'd like to keep the community informed on what I'm working on so I've put together a discord server to keep everyone up to speed and to hopefully get some feedback and build the world with the community.

4:58 Yooo! Monitor lizard kingdoms when!? As much as I love the sound of "Varanid Vikings", I can't wait to see the cultural aesthetic you come up with for them! Komodo Dragons or even Megalania taking the role of giants would be so cool!

The alpha sound be named zghodra
I have a few idea for the name of the alpha, really depends on how names are in the Cryptic Galapagos.
perhaps they can be simplistic like "Veridian" which means "green" (verdant) or "truth" (veritas)
or they could be more "complex" like "Viridi Clado", meaning "Green stripe" in latin
I personally am a fan of "Viridomini" or "Green Master"
maybe a more in-depth look into the marine iguanas' cultures and name-system could be a possible video idea

What I suggested were very simple from google translate. So a more thorough translator would probably be better
Who knew Iguana's could look so BADASS
Kamehameha (for the Alpha knight) based on The King of Hawaii, Kamehameha. Or maybe something simple like Kron, (based off of Kron from Disneys Dinosaur) 🧍♂️ didn’t wanna give a last name as that’s should be something you’d handle, maybe The alpha Knight comes from a prestigious family, you never know.
Hey do you plan on doing anything with the galapagos flightless Cormorant, or perhaps even extinct species of the islands? Could do some real interesting stuff with em.
As of right now I don't have a plan with them in particular, but I'd love to get some suggestions as Cromorants will be one of the iguanas main vendors for trading fish and algae so they will be important to the economy

This is for a game?? I was completely immersed in just the lore.
As a suggestion : When this will become a game, an interesting concept could be "Travelling Merchants". Certain species could be merchanta, that can randomly show up on the map. Each merchant would have a dofferent type and rarity of item. For example, a Saltscale mercchant could sell Malachite armour fragments, and , if you gather enough fragments, you could make your very own suit of armour.

@@CrypticGalapagos Here's something else for ya : When disgussing humans as an antagonist, it would be cool for them to be almost like a looming threat. You wouldnt see them for most of the game, but signs of them would appear progressively : Some pollution washing up on shore, planes flying over head, ships in the distance, etc. (Also, you just got another subscirber, cause gosh is this lovely ! The fact that you enjoyed my "merchant" idea, gets me hoping a part of it might get implemented. Good luck with your project man !)
@lucacristian1089 You've hit the nail on the head regarding humans. Thi is exactly how it will feel, Something along the lines of Happy feet
They give off a spartan vibe and I love it. How about naming the alpha "Adrax".

i like your approach on the equipment system, it reminds me of morrowind and fallout. also I do like the pouch slot it could be use for additional carry weight or somekind of trinket slot (lantern or maybe some kind of badges that give you privilege in certain area or situation). either way cant wait for the next iteration or maybe ingame concept art. Good job

About the name for the Alpha Knight: What if the Alpha gains the ability to speak again, but forfeits their belongings/family and name, so the current Alpha ist just called THE SENTINEL or something like that?

Can you make a sketch of How the walk or run? They have Little legs
Their Legs fold in a very intricate way making them look small, but they can extend to be longer than they look. I'll ultimately have to rig a model and create a walking / running loop

Will the iguana character explore regions outside the islands to fight the invaders?
For now, not yet since there is a lot to discover on these islands first.
I know you plan on making this a videogame so what genre of videogame would it be exactly
I'm hoping to create a single player experience with pvp options, or maybe even co-op I've put a lot of thought into world building so the lore will give the world a bit more depth.
So these iguanas are still the same size as normal iguanas?
Imagine if Charles Darwin came across these iguanas instead of normal ones.
