A similar thing happened to me at my first high school reunion. One of my bullies approached me and apologized to me for bullying me. I told him I was incredibly appreciative of his offer and I bought him a drink. Same thing happened with another dude I got into a fight with at track practice, and a dude who called me out when I said some really sideways shit on Twitter. People are willing to forgive. You have to do the same and be willing to forget. I think we all need to remember that.
It takes struggle and hardship to get the viewpoint he has. Some can hear those story and build that type of attitude but for most you have to experience struggle for that attitude. The problem today is we are free and we don’t suffer consequences for our actions. We are complacent and blind to what struggle is and because of that our view on life and reality is distorted
GSP is hands down one of the classiest, most stand-up fighters in the history of MMA. You can jus tell he's a nice guy from the way he carries himself, actions aside.

I ran into my school bully when I was in my 30’s. I’m in my 50’s now. He was working in a local store. When I saw him he recognized me right away. We were obviously adults but I was much larger than him and had been training martial arts for many years, so I easily could have hurt him. He was very apologetic for how he treated me and I told him it was all in the past and we were good. We talked for an hour or more about old times and people we both knew. After a while I bid him farewell with a handshake. I found out only a few weeks later that he deleted himself over a divorce. I was heartbroken for the guy. Even though he tormented me as a kid, as an adult he took responsibility and apologized. He didn’t deserve to go out that way. I’ll never forget him and how good he made me feel when he apologized. George & Joe are right, carrying hate in your heart is detrimental to your overall well being. Forgive people’s mistakes in the past and move forward in a better light. It’s good for the soul.
That guy caught that energy from GSPs' wholehearted gesture . You know the guy thought about their past and GSP telling him that he used to lookup to him caused the dude to reflect on his past ,and ultimately analyze his past from a new perspective . The fact that the guy got a job n went back to express gratitude tells me he had struggled all his life self projecting his own abuse and somehow his relationship bullying GSP as a kid had played a role in GSP to become a champion later in life ,and then GSPs championship and success ended up humbling GSP enough that later when they crossed paths again, this all came full circle . And for the better, all because GSP has true ❤️ Forgiveness and communication go along way.
And it is true. You're not FULL of potential. Life isn't fair. But you can do your best. You just have to work harder than tall and good looking person. It is always combination of your genes and what you do. Talent and hard work. Ask anyone who knows anything about this stuff (for example some PROfessional musician) - hard work always win. Of course if tall, good looking guy works as hard as not so tall and not that good looking guy, tall and good looking one will win. You can't change the fact that world isn't fair, but that's no reason to give up.
I can personally tell that Georges really meant it on not beating his bully but beat him by being humble, nice & just swallow your pride, spit it out, let it go-type of way..Wow he's just rare champion at best👌
I read GSP book. He suffered from severe OCD personality disorder. He was texting he ex girlfriend many times a week for 1 year before she broke up with her new boyfriend and came back with GSP. He used all these OCD traits in his training to train and throw kicks thousand of times before going back to his next training from Montreal to NYC until he perfected it. His flaw in his personal life made him the GOAT in his professional life and trained repeatedly to master all of his techniques more than any other fighter.

These recommendations are getting scary. I was literally thinking about how I need to drop the grudge I have on my high school bully. Trust me my grudge was really bad, I’ve been out of high school for 7 years now... and over the course of those 7 years I don’t think a week has gone by where I didn’t think about beating up my bully or doing horrible things to him just to let him know how much he’s effected me and my life. I recently realized that I just need to drop it... it’s been 7 years and I can’t keep holding onto these thoughts of pain and negativity... it’s time to open a new chapter of my life and leave all the negative thoughts behind. I don’t know if my Bully will ever change his perspective on me or how he treated me but I can’t dwell on that. I need to live my life for me and stay positive. (Side note: His reason for bullying me was simply “I don’t like you”) I tried to talk it out with him when we were younger but he’s always been hard headed. Maybe some people were just meant to be shit?
Fuck that guy or girl boss up on them dont bat a eye too that shit. I got some problems w a person not a bully but same situation kill them w success they wont be anything you are

I met my bully when i was 16. He made me have a very VERY hard time when i was 12. He was taller and like 3 years older. But by the time i was 16 we were the same height so when i saw him i had all those flashbacks coming at me but when he saw me he was happy to see me. He was like "hey man, so good to see. Whats up" and i realized i didnt care for the stuf he did to me anymore. We even end up being friends. I guess is like Nietzsche used to say "unlike women men can't hold grudge for a long time".
I know GSP will never read this but this clip has helped me out a lot. It put a smile on my own face so I would like to extend my thanks to you, Georges.
The real moral of the story is all those people who peaked in high school end up losers, all the ones who got picked on/overlooked are the ones who turn out to be winners, whether they're a CEO or a UFC champion.
It's nice to believe that, but it's not true. Some studies have shown that usually the popular kids in high school end up going on to be the most successful.
@@dantheinternetman1 and I'm sure some studies show just the opposite, take a look at the world's most successful men.... Gates, Musk, Bezos..... any of them strike you as 'popular' back in high school ?
@@johnnychopping3655 What makes more sense: A popular kid who has good social skills and confidence that comes along with it VS. a loner who gets beat down every day for years who is defeated and depressed? Who's more likely to be successful? Momentum carries. Sure, there are stories like Bill Gates and Elon Musk who rise above it, but those are anomalies. It's more likely the successful person will carry that momentum to the next school, to the next career, etc. than the other way around. The loner, excluded kid will have to climb the mountain with a weight on his/her back. The other person is going down hill.
@@dantheinternetman1 depends on your definition of success, if you mean smashing it at the office selling insurance then sure. But with the exception of elite athletes who are given a silver platter for life due to their genetics, the most successful people on the planet all fall into the category of bullied/unpopular as kids. It's what drives them. Why spend your life trying to be excellent if everyone kissed your ass from day one? I know of at least a few people first hard who were the shit throughout their teens, 10 years later now they ain't shit.

This is a story about a very powerful impasse in another persons history and the fact that it is documented here and that we all get to appreciate it is incredible.
Great story! We ever know what people face behind closed doors. What a great man to rise above eventually finding empathy and compassion to his situation. The world is a better place when we can let our past go and drop the ego.
Wow, what a great guy. To have that outlook on life and all the people that treated you like shit, and then when asked about it, to still think you're nothing special? Humble, forgiving and empathetic.. Great role model, whether intentional or not

This story reminds me of my own story when back in junior high school I was always getting beat up by a bullie, 20 years later I bumped into my childhood bullie and not surprisingly he beat the shit out of me once again!
I got a couple bullies back when I was about 14 or 15, they had made my life hell for several years. I had learned to wrestle and worked out in 8th and 9th grade and the next few run ins went differently. Teaching them a lesson and getting them off my back felt pretty good. Its good to forgive but justice also needs to be served.
@Black Rod At the time I couldn't think of a way to say what I meant without dribbling on so opted for quick and simple. Thank you for putting into words what I couldn't. Very well said.
I was also bullied a couple of times in my youth. But i stood up against them, i fought/intimidated them after taking mental blows. Once they were "beaten" i would stop and reason with them. All of them turned out to be friends and they all improved their act. They just needed to be put in place. Now i don't know if this goes for all bullies, but it sure did for mine.
I just want to say... gsp changed my life. Being an over weight kid from 6-19, borderline diabetic, I borrowed rushfit from a friend, the whole set! I powered through the videos for 3 months. He helped me lose weight and it changed my life.. big shout to you gsp🙏🏼
I bullied a fellow classmate for about 3 years, from about 9 years old to 11 or 12 years old. I met the guy at a hardware store a few years ago and initiated a handshake so that I could apologize respectfully. Despite everything I put him through, he shook my hand and said "Man, it's all good. Kids are cruel, no hard feelings bud". I have never felt so small in my entire life, with all the torment I put him through, he was still able to forgive me and be the bigger man. I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up on the way home. I felt like such a piece of shit. People really can change, if I could go back and take back everything I did to him, I would, in a heartbeat.
GSP is a genuine human being that lives on high moral standards. This is what a true champion is he helped get a persons life back on track by kindness, not violence. He could have resorted to revenge however, he chose kindness and his true character.

Anybody who dislikes gsp is probably inTOKsicated.

And for the better, all because GSP has true ❤️

And it is true. You're not FULL of potential. Life isn't fair. But you can do your best. You just have to work harder than tall and good looking person. It is always combination of your genes and what you do. Talent and hard work. Ask anyone who knows anything about this stuff (for example some PROfessional musician) - hard work always win.

Sure, there are stories like Bill Gates and Elon Musk who rise above it, but those are anomalies.
It's more likely the successful person will carry that momentum to the next school, to the next career, etc. than the other way around.
