I ran into my school bully when I was in my 30’s. I’m in my 50’s now. He was working in a local store. When I saw him he recognized me right away. We were obviously adults but I was much larger than him and had been training martial arts for many years, so I easily could have hurt him. He was very apologetic for how he treated me and I told him it was all in the past and we were good. We talked for an hour or more about old times and people we both knew. After a while I bid him farewell with a handshake. I found out only a few weeks later that he deleted himself over a divorce. I was heartbroken for the guy. Even though he tormented me as a kid, as an adult he took responsibility and apologized. He didn’t deserve to go out that way. I’ll never forget him and how good he made me feel when he apologized. George & Joe are right, carrying hate in your heart is detrimental to your overall well being. Forgive people’s mistakes in the past and move forward in a better light. It’s good for the soul.

I wonder why people bully other in schools. I used to have a bullied friend we lived on the same street and played hockey, he was a bit fat and somewhat awkward. People called him fatass and I used to defend him from the other guy which were also my friends because I was one of the best at sports in high school. It seems like they felt a sense of unity all humiliating one person and they could all have a sense of something in common to relate to, bullying the fat kid.

And i was giving this guy $250 every three to four days, he wasn't greedy about the money he was making off me, he seriously wanted me to get help. When i told him i was flying away to go to rehab, he was very happy, he even gave me a free gram to carry me through, but he also said, "you get on that plane, and don't you call my phone number again" Been clean for 2 months now

From the story about his abusing father we can guess he probably had a very shitty life, and when you're young that'll make you do shitty things. I'm pretty sure the bully in this story did a lot of other bad things, to a lot of other kids than GSP, but at some point you get older and have to live with all that you've done. I wouldn't be surprised if he was "paralized" by shame and guilt (a powerful motivater to escape in alcohol and drugs). In the end GSP served as a metaphor, by forgiving him the guy saw that he wasn't beyond redemption and stopped giving up on himself...
Anyways that's only my guess! But I'm pretty sure he needed that forgivness more than he needed that 100 bucks

It is always combination of your genes and what you do. Talent and hard work. Ask anyone who knows anything about this stuff (for example some PROfessional musician) - hard work always win. Of course if tall, good looking guy works as hard as not so tall and not that good looking guy, tall and good looking one will win. You know the guy thought about their past and GSP telling him that he used to lookup to him caused the dude to reflect on his past ,and ultimately analyze his past from a new perspective .
The fact that the guy got a job n went back to express gratitude tells me he had struggled all his life self projecting his own abuse and somehow his relationship bullying GSP as a kid had played a role in GSP to become a champion later in life ,and then GSPs championship and success ended up humbling GSP enough that later when they crossed paths again, this all came full circle .

Even in relationships, if your nice and respectful, you treat her/him right , they will say ur too nice for me and they will go be with someone who doesn’t give a damn about em , and who disrespects them . I’m 33 and it just happened to me like 3 weeks ago , this girl I was with we never had one argument , we got along so well , I never yelled at her not once , I never let her drive to me cuz we lived 30-45 min away from one another, when we went out I never let her pay for anything , and one day ( 3 weeks ago) she says we need to talk , we get together and she tells me I’m too nice for her , that we are the same and she’s always gonna love me and have love for me but It would never work out between us , and when she’s done she’s done and we have spoke since. And trust me nice guys always finish last !!! And I’m the Guy who can not walk or drive past homeless and not give em money ever ! If anyone else had this happen to them I’m sorry I know how it is , and it’s hard to forget especially if that was ur first love like it was mine at 34 and I had many and I mean many girls before her but only fell for her and to this day I still think of her !!!

As well as my entire lab group from Bio 111. Another couple of instructors, too. And another instructor made a very rude statement about people with a certain disability, which statement I happen to know to be untrue. My mother repeatedly confronted my teachers and even the principal about my many bullies in one grade alone. The bitches refused to do a damn thing about one bully because his dad wouldn’t discipline him, and my home room teacher that year - who watched a lot of the bullying happen - pretty much condoned it. Her attitude was **Boys will be boys!** She took issue with them slightly mocking her name as “disrespect,” but she didn’t give a rat’s ass about one of her students being endlessly sexually harassed and dehumanized, and even being beaten, etc., the whole freaking year. I actually fear for what she let her son eventually get away with. She probably raised a then-future-rapist. That bitch, to this day, has no sense of empathy.

Did you happen to stop and think about why Joe & George are strong and successful individuals?
If you paid any attention to the interview, George was directly asked if that bully had anything to do with his current success and why GSP initially enrolled into martial arts.
The point is they are strong and successful because they CHOSE to be. Those traits are simply built into their characters, as opposed to letting their childhood bullies’ actions dominate their thoughts and lives. It has nothing to do with them already achieving more success than their bullies or not.
Scars simply tell you where you’ve been. They don’t determine where you’ll proceed afterward....

Why thank you! That is truly appreciated my friend. :)
The unfortunate truth about similar situations is most people primarily concentrate solely on the bullies themselves as opposed to what they can learn and ultimately take away from said situation to positively grow as a well adjusted individual.
If someone carries that torment and hatred throughout adulthood, it will only lead to poisoning their character and world perspective. That type of negativity engrained into the psyche could potentially paralyze, even destroy, countless opportunities and relationships.
It’s true that the most difficult task is letting go of such incapacitating memories. However in doing so, you no longer grant that person power over your heart, thoughts and actions. From that point, forgiveness can be granted and healing no longer endures obstructions.
My prayers are for all, but especially for those whom truly yearn to heal from their versions of this scenario.

See this is why it’s important for schools to look into stuff like this. If a kid is being a bully yes punish them because that’s the consequence and you should protect the kid being bullied too. But also look into the bully’s home life. Maybe it’s something like this bully when they live with an abusive parent. YamiNoGame you’d think it’s that easy, but it’s impossible to tell how a kid is going to react. You could pull a kid out of his home because of having abusive parents, the kid lashes out because you just took his only idea of what parents are, it doesn’t fix his bullying, he gets thrown into the foster system, never gets adopted, leaves the system at 18 and is on his own with no family or support system to help. No college education or anything. Obviously I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be helping kids who are being abused, but it’s not going to immediately solve the issue. The kid may be angry at their parents, but if it’s all they know, pulling them out may not, and probably won’t, stop the kid from lashing out. Also, the teachers have no authority to look into a kids home life. I mean, they can call CPS, but they may not have any proof that any abuse is going on. Some kids are just angry kids. My stepbrother, who’s grown up in the same household that I have his entire life, does drugs, sleeps through his classes, literally fails every class (is lucky to get a D-), has no motivation to better himself, and gets into fights and is just an angry kid. The kid who thinks he’s too cool to smile and be happy. It’s strange. I know for a fact that his parents don’t beat him, nor does my father. But what are you going to do? Call CPS on every child that seems angry? You’d need some kind of proof, and then even then, it’s out of the schools control. They can call CPS, but after that it’s up to CPS and the courts and stuff. If THEY don’t have enough evidence to prove that there’s abuse, they have to leave the child with the parents. And it doesn’t solve anything at that point lol my point is that it’s much easier said than done. Just saying, “Yeah, teachers should be looking into the children’s home lives.” Yeah, but it’s not that easy. They don’t have the authority to investigate a home life. They don’t have the control to stop that kind of abuse. All they can do is call CPS (with proof) and hope this get better for the kid. Punishing the kids at school is all the teachers really have control over. Which is why it’s what they do. It’s really all they CAN do.

GSP is the type of man we all should strive to be. Such a class act.
