I think the fact that Cadence is the one normal, rational character in the show is special in itself. Not many characters in this show are any of that. They have a crisis, there’s always drama, someone has some grand scheme of things destiny. Cadence is a role model character in the sense that she can tackle daily problems and that she got a soft of fairytale, white picket fence life. I like how simple and elegant her character is.
I didn't even know Cadence was reviewed as being "too perfect", especially in regards to her successful marriage. That... doesn't even make sense to me. Wouldn't viewers WANT to display a stable, working marriage? I thought that was a GOOD thing to teach young impressionable children.
There is definitely a trend where every writer tries to make their characters more interesting by giving them a compelling backstory or flaw to over come. It is ironic that trying to make their characters stand out has become so common that making them a normal, fully functioning adult is the exception now.
this video also validates my confusion over why people get so mad about the little focus on class 1-B in My Hero Academia. They're mostly background characters to fill the role of "hey there are more people then class 1-A in UA"
While Luna may be my favorite princess, Cadence every once in a while rivals Luna for that title because of those reasons you stated. She is a mentor and is meant to be. She is grounded and I even think she is even a great role model.
Not only that, she has the best execution of use in the show. Luna does have good flaws, but the solutions of these flaws are often rushed or poorly executed in numerous ways. Celestia is just boring because she takes no action and can only be interesting when being developed, which she barely is, if not at all. And we have seen Twilight all the way through as meant to but with her arc as a princess finally reaching its end, there is nothing you can really do with her. Cadence has best execution of use and character in show with use of her character. Also Cadence, besides Luna, has best color scheme and Cadence’s color scheme is a color scheme I would prefer to wear or have my own imaginary cafe colored. It’s not just a bubblegum explosion. It’s a bubblegum, candy melt, lollipop, cotton candy, and gumdrop explosion.

"...and Luna might strangle it." LOL.

It seems bronies aren't happy unless all the characters are just as maladjusted and fucked in the head as they are.

Time to plan for a drawing of Lily to just be hugging plushies of cadence and flurry
"Repent your sins and bow to bubblegum mom!" You're awesome, Lily; ignore the haters 😸
this makes painful sunburns more tolerable

I think people hate Cadence and Flurry because they aren't red and black and male.
