he would have won it his last year at Oklahoma, instead of Troy Smith from Ohio State if he hadn't broken his collarbone diving into the end zone against Iowa State.
He was unstoppable both years vs OSU... Bull in a China shop every time he touched the football. The only person you can compare to Adrian Peterson at 19 years old is a 20year old Mike Tyson.
I wish we had got him in 2003 instead of 2004. As great as AP was we got nothing to show for it. With him in the backfield and the 2003 defense we would have been a different team
Injuries was the only thing that stopped him from being maybe the greatest College Football Running Back ever. Really sucks that his final 2 seasons the rest of the Offense was in rebuild mode.
Adrian Peterson is arguably the most physically gifted running back in college AND NFL history. The only other RB I can compare as far as size, power and speed, is Eric Dickerson, but IMO, "All Day" was more elusive than even the great ED. He's probably the only 18 year old that unquestionably could have played in the NFL straight out of high school. The football version of young LeBron James.
It's pretty easy to know. USC was tougher, hungrier, just about as talented and FAR better coached on BOTH sides of the ball then Bob Stoops OU Sooners. There's no mystery about it. USC was just a better team and laid a historical smack down on the overhyped Sooners.
@@loganmartin8613 He had 1300+ and 1400+ yards rushing his 1st 2 years in the league and another 1'000+ yard rushing his 4th year in the league, made 3 pro bowls and was possibly headed towards a HOF career, before a career ending knee injury. So maybe he deserves a little bit more respect on his name, with all due respect.
Adrian Peterson was a great OU running back and IS a good running back coach for OU. Those that know me wouldn't think I was a person that would give credit due to the OU faithful.... I think he made poor choices in college though to try and enter the NFL before he was eligible. He really should have just shut his mouth and played the game. He could have done so much more for OU
He's not OUs running back coach and he didn't try to leave for the NFL before he was eligible. He also barely said a word in college, I'm not sure who you're thinking of.
The acceleration coming out of that spin move, incredible!
Adrian Peterson is a future HOFer
I miss the days of dominant running backs. Fortunately, we still have Derrick Henry.
Well...
Will definitely find out 2022 what he's truly all about health-wise
I like Nick Chubb too
Jt and Chubb are nice too
2003 Darren Sproles nearly 2000yds breaking tackles and all that,
Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden did it too
Dude was as tough as anyone too playing a whole game with a broken collarbone is insane
It is an abomination Peterson did not win a Heisman. The best overall football player I ever saw.

He deserves the win in 04 no doubt
That brings tears to my Sooner eyes!
Tom Jackson and Adrian Peterson....a masterclass
Who?
Yep
AD ALL DAY

When I was little before Patrick mahomes Adrian Peterson was a legend here in east Texas

I remember how mad the pokies were that day. Priceless!
We are mad every day lol.
God
Bless
Keith Jackson

You don't see Running Backs like that anymore.
It was a beauty to watch!
That spin move was filthy.

Dude was too skinny in highschool
@@troylee4196 Not at all! Dude was built like a pro right out of high school!
AD was a beast should have won the Heisman.
I must admit I was not a fan when he was in college. I can't explain it lol. I was a Bush guy back then.
Saturdays just aren’t the same 😢
How this team lost to USC badly I'll never know.

@@Riles3152well the game doesn’t count because USC cheated per usual
He whipped that Oklahoma State defense like a child pushing his sibling over who's turn it is to play a video game.
They keep making a big deal out of 8 straight 100 yd games. Peterson was a beast, no doubt, but Billy Sims was at least as good.
What did billy sims do in the nfl though

I'll be waiting for the classic performance against USC.🤣

He tried to sue the NFL to get in before his eligibility allowed him to leave
Literally, everything you said was false lol.. your either intentionally lying or you just don’t know shit.. which is it ???
@@danielbitzer652 No you're thinking of Maurice Clarett. You also said Adrian Peterson is the running back coach for OU but that's not right either.
0 ZERO National Championships. No Heisman.
Not impressed.
