With the l shape witch is standard conventional tactics..I would have mined the right flank for maximum damage..just because of the unknown environment
“Don’t use an open bolt weapon to initiate an ambush”. In a triangle shaped platoon position in thick bush in Vietnam in 1969, I initiated a contact against a group of NVA with a single Claymore, I followed up with the M60 machine gun. The M60 fired 5 rounds and stopped (due, I think to a stretched link). Distance to the NVA guy walking point was 10 metres. It’s then you realise why in training we were taught to clear a weapon stoppage over and over and over again, until I used to think, “ Do these f…king NCOs think we are retarded?” When your weapon that’s going to keep you alive, stops, it’s not a good feeling. While clearing the stoppage I felt like everything was in slow motion. Long time ago, but some things are never forgotten.
Thanks for your comments brother. Spot on.... John Basilone on Guadalcanal got a machine gun back up and in the fight by using parts from other downed guns.....AT NIGHT, and under attack. Its important stuff to know those weapon systems front and back and in the dark for sure.
1. Also give ambush time "for natural sounds around you to return to normal". Don't spook the prey with "it's quiet, too quiet." Scouts aren't random picks, they are determined eyes, nose and ears of alarm. 2. Beware of giving off scents, even aftershave can spook a scout and reroute a column out of your ambush. 3. Having rear flank spotters with a small sniper/marksmen detachment (with preferably if available high ground) can more easily pick off high value targets at the beginning of an ambush and take out more high value targets if they rout and full retreat. Having them on rear guard gives you info on "get ready". But like he said having "eyes" on flank will help in avoiding the "hook" sweep and net manuvears designed to pincer and clear ambushes. 4. Wired claymores aren't as effective in day (at least mud up the wire or use camo wire) as in night. Using an rfid detonater is more reliable (unless they are using signal jammers) , also look at the lay out and set layered traps, if there is a natural "cover" for enemy forces leave it as "bait" and conceal a claymore to flank the hard point leaving their troops vulnerable and disoriented continuously. "Leaving an out" is a very effective strategy in an ambush, people under stress usually fight or flight, and flight is usually path of "perceived" least resistance. Land mines/claymores/(traps basically) on a path of least resistance can be devastating. 5. Always make sure your team is on the same page about trap location, there is nothing more stupid than letting your own team wander into traps laid for the enemy. 6. Variety is the spice of victory, patterns draw "counters". Beware of becoming predictable.
I love the internet. Despite youtube's trash policy, this great warrior can tell us how to do things with things we cant own but just in case we will know how anyways. love it.
Cy Lon Well, that'd be the point wouldn't it ? Anyway, I've never been in the military and I've never done an ambush. I'm only going on what I've read and heard. :-)
Cory the only option you have is to attack the enemy. if you are in an ambush, EVERYTHING that looks like it might be cover, is most likely going to have some sort of surprise waiting for you. claymore mines or other explosives etc. further if the people setting them up actually know what they are doing you may have several surprises daisy chained together. so attacking the shooters becomes your only hope of survival. if in a vehicle then you can try to drive out of the kill zone but a smart leader will take out the lead and rear vehicles first, thus preventing egress from the kill zone. Brent i hope i didn't spoil your next vid. am looking forward to it brother....
I'm a Swiss Army Lieutenant and sadly we don't get an optic for everybody. That's really sad because our SG550's are really accurate and if you mount a scope on it you can easily hit targets 600m away with the standard issued rifle.. sadly we only train on 300m with iron sights. Well at least every (even the computer specialists or the tank mechanics) soldier is trained to hit targets up to 300m with ease.. I just like to think how effective our soldiers would be if we had scopes.
+Brent0331 Well I guess that's the difference between a nation that actually deploys it's military and a neutral nation.. You guys actually get decent gear.
Gurfi28 im from the swiss to. The sg550 is an awsome weapon. Realible, accutate easy to operate and even when a little heavy and outdated they are awsome but as he said its sad that we just train schooting 300 meters and dont have optics. I mean just with an ACOG optic you coud make it about 2-3 times more effective. Great video
That's the whole point of training with irons. Look if your country goes to war I guarantee you see alot of optics suddenly. Same thing happened after 911 everyone had irons and then suddenly aim points and acogs for every ground pounder
We were always taught in Vietnam that its best to place the Claymores in front of a tree, rock, or other hard surface, (sandbags), etc. so that you didn't get any back blast.
Hey Brent, I just wanted to say your camouflage videos are my favorite and I watch them all the time. I hope to become a Marine someday like you are and I hope you see this comment. Semper Fidelis, Marine!!!
Hello Brent your RUclips channel is one of the best about tactics and stuff like that and is one of my favorites you deserve more views and suscriptions
+Luis Fernando im gonna be sad whe he gets hundreds of thousands of subs because then we all wont be special. this channel has gotten about 4000 subs since I subscribed in the beginning of summer
I like the thumbnail, sitting crisscross next to a Browning like a kindergarten teacher showing the kids a show and tell. It's like classroom learning for combat, grab a pen and pad and take notes kids. Entertaining, engaging, and informational, this is how teaching is done. Cheers.
Great video. Now for us civilians who will never have a claymore, I would really like to see videos on gravity / counterweight traps. Or what traps can you construct after your claymore is gone, how would you deploy them, Evasion & diversion tricks, and all those other RECONDO type jungle combat secrets. Some of us don't have crew served weapons! Making do with less gear could be great video topics. Even military people can run out of gear and and be forced to improvise. That would be so interesting.
Hawaii Volcano Squad I agree, It would be good to have knowledge like that in a Red Dawn type situation. If you don't have enough supplies and gear, you need to know how to make the best of what you do have and apply it practically to fight the enemy.
Hawaii Volcano Squad l;' The principals can still be applied. All the ambush formations are still effective you would just have to initiate an ambush with a closed bolt weapon. You probably wont achieve the mass confusion that's created by an explosive device but as long as your ambush is quick to key off of the initiator of the ambush the enemy would still experience shock and confusion. For civilians you could supplement crew serves/automatic rifleman with lets says civilian legal semi-automatic AR/AK's with 100/75/50 round drums so those guys could fire rapidly at the kill zone. Of course I would hope that your not planning on ambushing anyone anytime soon lol. Such things should be kept in your mental tool box until we have a major ISIS outbreak here in the states. ;)
Act like a native principal in Vietnam would mean building Viet Cong style booby traps, funneling the enemy into them. In the Iran Iraq war, Saddam Hussein electrified the swamps when Iranian soldiers were moving through, electrocuting large groups of enemy soldiers.
+Brent0331 Go exercise your rights and tell me who shows up. It won't be Isis coming to take your freedom that you have to worry about in the states. Any thoughts on dealing with that?
+wingxxzero Our battle to preserve our 2nd Amendment right currently belongs at the ballot box and in the court rooms. In regards to Isis, they have already attempted at least one Isis inspired mass murder attempt here in in Garland Texas (which is not too far from me). Nothing is stopping them from carrying out Beslan school hostage crisis style attacks or 2008 Mumbai style attacks. The only thing that is going to stop them from being able to commit mass murder is responsible armed citizens who are concealed carrying who can get the drop on these guys the second they walk in brandishing their weapons.
My dad was in the army in Nam. His guard unit had guys who saw lots of combat in Vietnam. They used to talk about platoons getting cut to pieces with "L" shaped ambushes. Interesting to hear what that actually means.
Interesting compliment to this video would be a counter ambush technique video. If your unit walks into various ambush types show what the most effective way would be to get out or counter.
Thanks man, this was super interesting! Let’s hope we as citizens only ever need this information for educational purposes eh. Peace, from the U.K. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇺🇸
The U.K. has needed it for decades, for freedom purposes. Your government isn't going to give you back your rights, the same as ours in the U.S. will not.
One thing I believe that needs to be noted. If using MG's in a L shaped ambush, the guns need to staked in with clear left and right of arcs,. Primarily, alternative and secondary tasks. Either using "fixed lines" or "fixed limits"
Harry Joe; Don't forget to load the 12# smoothbore Napoleon with double canister, then sound the bugle and have General Pickett lead the charge... Why not just weld the end closed, and stuff it with BP, and make a huge bomb out of it? The cannon would be a very inefficient one shot bang.
@will Roland A friend of mine, marine, artillery, wanted to get into reenactments, and he was looking for a civil war cannon. So when I was in Old Virginia, I got a quote on a 12# Napoleon smooth bore. The carriage needed some work, but it was used in General Stone Wall's Valley Campaign. For $25,000.....that was in Yankee Greenbacks. I thought the bolo rounds were used in Naval battles to de-mast the enemy ship. Personally, I would prefer double canister. Like 4 in shotgun really. But, I will take your word for it.
I love the use of Army Men. You should do a more urban setting, taking into consideration the nature of buildings vs. bushes. Also, if you haven't already, a video on how to survive being ambushed would rock. Thanks for all you do and have done.
He's talking about engagements that are beyond 100m. They definitely take whatever the enemy was planning or thinking about and make them only think about how do I not get shot
Nicolas Villamil Just one thing to add to this, in the FDF we typically don't have a lot of crew served at least in LRRP type mission profiles, and we are typically in a situation where the enemy numbers are hugely overwhelming. There you use your belt feds more to keep your enemy from being able to move, they may or not get some hits in but he vast majority of casualties are from rifle fire. The belt feds are used also to try to keep the enemy from moving, or organizing, until you disengage and pull out. The purpose is to cause chaos, demoralize and slow down enemy movement, and if possible destroy equipment over killing enemy, enemy casualties are at the lowest end of the priority list.
This has to be the best RUclips military themed channel by far. This gentleman knows his (*&%, and keeps all his videos, and talk, to the point, and moving right along. Some of these other channels put me to sleep, not here! Got to say that the only thing I regret about these vids, is I can only give them 1 thumbs up, not the 2 they deserve. Looking forward to watching more! Great work Marine!
Good information, it makes a huge difference when the teacher knows from real world experience. I would like to learn some techniques on applying this into urban situations.
Ok here is what you do in an urban area;...blast 2Pac near a basketball court, next to a liquor store, and use Laquesha as bait when she is booty popping......then swap out your barrels when they over heat.
Thank you sir. Good info. Years of military training summed up nicely. This guy knows what he's talking about. Don't think you can do what he can by watching this.
M249 gunner in US Army infantry, badass weapon system, mine ran pretty damn well, but I took good care of Jenna and kept her lubed up. She choked on mags every damn time, but running belts I can't say I remember her going down if I did my part. Also trained on the 240B alot, another excellent system IMO. Nothing beat being attached to cav and using the M2 though in the turret, nothing for a leg comes close to that IMO.
I was a SAW gunner too. Right about the M16 magazine feed-it jammed on me every fucking time-learned real fast to stick with belts. Good thing the M240Bs came into service-our M60s were worn out pieces of shit.
@@larryh502 hell yea, our pigs were badass, we would jam sticks in with the links etc and they just chewed em up and kept rollin. It gave you amazing confidence to know your weapon system was reliable as hell.
Wow so informative as soon as I saw this video, I knew I was a subscriber. Thank you for all the information brother, all too often friends that I know in the forces never really want to discuss tactics, in this climate it'll sure be beneficial to learn anything to try and prepare for things coming down the line.
Thank you for your videos Brent, they are awesome! You are the only guy on youtube that I go to, to cure my army nostalgia. Always on point and good information. Ex-Canadian infantry
Very informative! Actually learned more from Brent0331 than I did in S.O.I.(school of infantry) back in the mid 90's. Way to go Devil-Dog! USMC '93-'97 I'm in Cali, so the only time Ill get my hands on one, is when Kim Jong-Un invades. Any instruction you can give... I will obey! You lead and Ill follow!
Hey good video brother. I wasn’t allowed to serve due to my history of Asthma but it hasn’t stopped me from getting training And tactics for myself and in The state of our country and outside threats right now I can see many reasons why good american patriots who are naturally protectors should know this.
I remember when we were deployed to the island of Tinian. We were operating as the OPFOR for the Marines who were going to make an amphibious landing. We were patrolling and we observed the SEALS making a beach insertion. We set up a hasty ambush and wiped them all out on the beach. They were so pissed off, it was hilarious.
Seals being ambushed 🤨 the minute I read that I knew something was bullshit with this paragraph. You would never even notice a group of seals making a beach insertion. They wouldn't make an insertion in the middle of the day. So something in this paragraph or the whole thing is a lie.
@@xduwutees9575 You ever been opfor against anyone? Blanks and MILEs makes even the saltiest of warfighters bitter and unmotivated as its basically autistic larping. Ive seen top tier units... Improvise... We caught an oda sleeping one time. No security.
@@xduwutees9575 LOL I can tell you are too wrapped up in Hollywood's presentation of SEALS. They are just regular soldiers, they are not supermen. If you have ever been in the woods away from civilization and light pollution, your eyes adapt and you can see well. It was pure LUCK on our part that we noticed them making their beach insertion but we did and we waxed them. The Army SF A team that was operating on the island, I heard them making their insertion....I heard their chutes open but we NEVER saw them once. After the OP was over they talked about almost bumping into us on patrol several times, they gave us really high marks on our patrolling techniques but they always saw us first, would freeze and wait for us to move off before continuing their mission.
Theokolese The Shadow Of Death you can hear chutes opening? I'm taking down notes cause I didn't know you could hear that. What else do you know? It might be the bad part that they do make special forces seem incredibly trained but then again that's true they're only human. I also didn't know about your eyes adjusting things. Hmmm, that's good to know now makes a lot more sense. That's amazing tho had no idea of that until you told me.
@@xduwutees9575 Were you there? SEALS are just highly trained men, not super men. Call it luck or whatever you want but we just happened to be in the right place at the right time and got them all on the beach. The SF team that was inserted through a HALO jump in the middle of the night, we NEVER saw them once. We would come across their camp sites but never saw them. After the mission was over and we got to talk to them they said there were many times we passed by them close enough where they could reach out and grab our feet. They snuck a guy into our perimeter and he was hiding out under the ruins of a building that had been the Japanese command headquarters during the day. At night he would come out and go through the chow line, talk to the cooks and JR officers and shoot the breeze like he was assigned to the unit. They would tell him everything and he would radio it back to his command. If you have ever been away from civilization where there is no light pollution you would know how possible and funny that story is.
I guess I'm old, but we didn't all have optics, I opted out personally as did others. In day time, any time for that matter I found it got in my way when firing looking down the barrel or otherwise. Night fire with the nvgs was something else. It took a lot of discipline to learn to fire my weapon from the shoulder when using night vision. Man, that white dot puts you on point!
I'll never forget, Battle of Vanceboro, we got annihilated. We never expected seeing all the lasers the enemy deployed, much less the ex-house cats the enemy unleashed which trailed the lasers with such precision fury. Once the lasers found our faces, the cats pounced on us and we were helpless. Now I *never* leave my compound without a pouch of at least mid-grade kitty catnip as a deterrent.
ZIIING XD. I hear auto rifles sometimes "run away", but I guess girls do that too. Btw, your videos are awesome! I'm an airsofter (and before everyone starts rolling their eyes, I have a lot of respect for the people that do this for real), and I've never really been able to get a sense for non-CQB (eg. forest) infantry combat. My current plan is to watch all of your videos on the subject in order to gain a better understanding.
Hey man, I'm just a lowly civilian with absolutely no military background (I'm not even one of those weirdo gun nuts who runs a militia out in the boonies), However I do play some war games, and I've been looking for some type of "training" on squad tactics, setting up ambushes and so on and so forth so thanks for these tips. I play a WW2 RTS called "Company of Heroes 2" and I can see some of this info being extremely useful in the game. I've also played past WW2 Infantry Combat games on a FPS level (much more realistic than Call of Duty, it was called Red Orchestra 2) and some of these tips wpuld be useful for that game too.
Thanks for another great video! If you have the opportunity, there are two topics that have been only covered sparsely that I could find: 1.) What to do if youre on the recieving end, ie deploying smokes etc... 2.) If you could go over more 'crew served' orientated stuff like range cards and aiming sticks etc... I read some stuff about it but if I could see it in action it would help. Thanks a lot!
+Orpheus Epiphanes I've thought about doing a video on machine gun gunnery, I just don't know how successful it would be. Most people don't even know what a range card is, let alone aiming stakes. I know I would blow most peoples minds with talking about the sustained, rapid and cyclic rates of fire.
This is a really interesting subject, understanding the "mechanics" of an ambush, and how to engage the enemy on your terms. I would have also liked to have seen a brief history lesson of the art of ambush.
Learned most of this in Vietnam... best training, best weapons, best plan and sometimes you are still SOL... it's hard to do realistic training for this!
Love my `Clamor's` ♥ Speaking of wire's. Had an incident once in thee bush. We layed out some `dead end wires. Charlie stopped to examine them. Being stopped & standing in one spot for a few. Charlie was no more. AMBUSH :>)
Two fur trappers, Jean and Francois were camped out in the woods of Quebec. Francois says "Eh Jean, I think I smell a bacon tree!". Jean says "Don't be ridiculous Francois, there is no such thing!". A little while later, Francois says "No no mon ami, I swear I can smell a bacon tree!" to which Jean says "You are out of your mind! There is no such thing!". Francois, getting frustrated says "A'right mon ami, ah will prove you wrong!" and then goes running off into the bush. Ten minutes pass and he comes back, his body riddled with arrows. Jean runs to his aid and says "Francois! What 'appened?!" to which Francois says "Ah mon ami, I was wrong. It was not a bacon tree after all... it was a 'am bush!"
Hello, I am a South Korean Social Service Agent who always watches your videos and learns many things. It's probably long, but this is my first comment. To get to the point, I'm here because I need advice. I cannot serve in active duty due to obesity and spinal disc hernia, so I work for a government agency in the provinces during my service period after completing three weeks of basic military training, but when war or local war breaks out by North Korea, I am called up as an Army infantry private and a reserve to protect the rear. 1. Since ancient times, the Korean Peninsula has a mountainous ratio of 77.5% within the land area, and South Korea also has high mountainous terrain mainly concentrated in the eastern part. Most cases of mountain battles in the far rear area occurred when North Korean spy forces infiltrated to our land. 2. Highly special warfare-trained North Korean agents usually start assassinations with 5 to 20 people in a covert operation involving only a small number of elite personnel, and 30 to 40 on a large scale, just over half of the infantry company. Against them, we should repeatedly ambush and maneuver in small mountain trenches and wide forest areas in designated operation zones with the support to annihilate/arrest the enemies with Special Forces of Korea. 3. Optical equipment and night vision goggles of the ROK Army are being distributed smoothly to each field unit, and CQB tactics are also developing belatedly because the average fighting distance is 30-300m in both urban and mountainous areas due to the nature of the Korean Peninsula. 4. In 1996, when the supply of body armor was insufficient and the performance of body armor itself was low, the infiltration of 36 North Korean intelligence agents returned to the unfortunate result that 12 soldiers including our special forces members were killed in action. Their causes of death were usually head injuries, chest or torso's gunshot wounds, and shards from the bare body. 5. In Korea, the aging population is serious due to the low birth rate, and there is a lack of healthy troops due to indiscriminate conscription, so people like me are eventually pushed to the front line. Still, if I can't escape and have to fight, I wonder if it's better to wear a bulletproof helmet and just chest rig to quickly maneuver, ambush and disrupt the enemy special forces troops, or make sure to have a plate carrier and a bulletproof helmet. What's your opinion?
You want to me a minimum of 16 meters behind the claymore. It will dispense metal fragments at a 60 degree arc to approximately 50 meters. Those fragments are somewhat effective out to 100 meters and can reach up to 250 meters. Its best to have your enemy within 50 meters of the mine when its touched off, that is the area in which it is most effective.
Matthew Siano 50 or more meters ots a pound of c4 with large Ball bearongs flying down range so 50+ meters in the direction of the blast devastating weapon...
Thanks to information about knowledge ambush ,iam from Indonesian my father former army in Indonesian and me former spesials police Indonesian ,greating to you
Remember guys I assume this video is also a result in experience of many many ambushes in the Vietnam war. If there was the mother of all wars in ambushes I bet it was in Vietnam.
I'm gonna run right over to my local Walmart and pick me up some claymores ASAP before they get bought out! Preparedness guys! It's all about preparedness!
Well actually, you’re right. That's a great idea! I'll get with the local mom’s in my neighborhood. They say most moms are on meth anyway. So I'm sure they know some local drug dealers!
Chose a ambush site which has obvious places for the enemy to take cover, naturally herding them there. Preparing these places with suitable remote triggered mines.
Yeaahhhh... I can't really think of any other reason this video would be up on youtube. What is his target audience? Active military members? Pretty sure they already get training on this topic already...
It is imperative that if you are launching and ambush against a vehicle column, that your two initial priority targets are the front vehicle (to trap the enemy from moving forward.) then the rear vehicle (to stop their retreat.
Excellent and timely 101s. One comment- if possible place your Claymore with a decent tree or dip in the ground tween it & your pos. Turn-around risk but can get it closer.

Brent0331 the L shape ambush is the deadliest
You do know there is no honour in shutting off your conscience and taking orders for money?
Do you enjoy killing people for bankers profit margins?
This is all conventional war fair..
@@blackquiver so? Snidly Buttler made it very clear, "war is a racket!"
It’s then you realise why in training we were taught to clear a weapon stoppage over and over and over again, until I used to think, “ Do these f…king NCOs think we are retarded?”
When your weapon that’s going to keep you alive, stops, it’s not a good feeling.
Thank you for your service, Semper FI

Me: sitting in my suburban quiet neighborhood
Also me: what if I need it sometime
You never know
Best to be prepared with whatever information you can find than to be left defenseless and dumb.
is it bad that you just perfectly described me
fucking exactly
You should go to 1 shepard
Ether, you sir, your knowledge is very useful information.

To quote an Australian ambush expert : "Ambush is controlled murder"
An Ambush should never fail.
Cy Lon When ambushing, it should never fail because an ambush is designed to work.
If it fails then you've failed.
Cy Lon Well, that'd be the point wouldn't it ?
Anyway, I've never been in the military and I've never done an ambush. I'm only going on what I've read and heard. :-)
Ade Larsen all I know, is that ambushes are time consuming and don't always pay off..😉 really bad if you don't take a shit before ambush set lol
Foxhound R336 I'd rather be cooking pork roast and drinking beer.
Ade Larsen hear you there mate
can you do a video about "what to do when your ambushed"
maybe in the future.
Brent0331 Brent0331 thanks, that would be awesome. I'm sure it's hours and hours and hours of work so thanks for putting all of these videos together.
Brent0331 your awesome! these are good educational videos thank you.
You get down. Find where the enemy is and exchange fire.
Our Marines definitely benefited from every Marines weapon being outfitted with an ACOG.
Just buy a fucking scope big deal
We were always taught in Vietnam that its best to place the Claymores in front of a tree, rock, or other hard surface, (sandbags), etc. so that you didn't get any back blast.
It directs more energy also.
Hey Brent, I just wanted to say your camouflage videos are my favorite and I watch them all the time. I hope to become a Marine someday like you are and I hope you see this comment. Semper Fidelis, Marine!!!

Hawaii Volcano Squad l;'
The principals can still be applied.

This guy is very knowledgeable. I would actually feel safe if I was in combat and I had this guy instructing me.
My dad was in the army in Nam. His guard unit had guys who saw lots of combat in Vietnam. They used to talk about platoons getting cut to pieces with "L" shaped ambushes. Interesting to hear what that actually means.
The L is no joke. Covers all angles, including corners for buildings.
Interesting compliment to this video would be a counter ambush technique video. If your unit walks into various ambush types show what the most effective way would be to get out or counter.
Thank you for this video! I appreciate you taking the time to teach us civilians some basics!
Thanks, my video is actually oriented to aid currently serving infantryman with some basic infantry instruction.

Thanks man, this was super interesting! Let’s hope we as citizens only ever need this information for educational purposes eh. Peace, from the U.K. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇺🇸
The U.K. has needed it for decades, for freedom purposes. Your government isn't going to give you back your rights, the same as ours in the U.S. will not.
An important requirement for an ambush:
A machine gun with a lotta ammo
I love how many times you said things like "Inflict damage" and "Create mass casualties" and "DESTROY" the enemy
RAGGARADEthirst lol hell yeah.
Its the goal
Survive, adapt, overcome and conquer.
One thing I believe that needs to be noted. If using MG's in a L shaped ambush, the guns need to staked in with clear left and right of arcs,. Primarily, alternative and secondary tasks. Either using "fixed lines" or "fixed limits"
Foxhound R336 yes crossfire should always be prevented and better safe than sorry.
Also avoid using grenades

What about a black powder cannon with grape shot? hide it in a trench near a trail then fire it when they hit the cone of fire.
We invented LMGs and mortars for a reason lol
Who the fuck uses black powder cannons when you can have a tank?! Bp cannons are old and outdated anyway!
will Roland heh true...
Harry Joe;
Don't forget to load the 12# smoothbore Napoleon with double canister, then sound the bugle and have General Pickett lead the charge...
Why not just weld the end closed, and stuff it with BP, and make a huge bomb out of it?
The cannon would be a very inefficient one shot bang.
@will Roland
A friend of mine, marine, artillery, wanted to get into reenactments, and he was looking for a civil war cannon.
Thanks for watching, we'll see what the future will bring.
6:53 "Machine guns are amazing, they'll disorient the enemy."
nevermind ripping their body to pieces lol
Slayer lol

Great point about initiating with an open bolt weapon!
What's the effective range of a claymore, and how far behind it is a safe distance to wait?
lol, trial and error maybe
You want to me a minimum of 16 meters behind the claymore. It will dispense metal fragments at a 60 degree arc to approximately 50 meters. Those fragments are somewhat effective out to 100 meters and can reach up to 250 meters. Its best to have your enemy within 50 meters of the mine when its touched off, that is the area in which it is most effective.
Matthew Siano 50 or more meters ots a pound of c4 with large Ball bearongs flying down range so 50+ meters in the direction of the blast
devastating weapon...
They are a lot louder than you think.
Knock on a door and before you go leave the claymore behind.
Noise, light, and litter discipline.

I don't think I'm gonna have access to a belt fed machine gun anytime soon here in California.
Gatlings are legal. Strap that bad boy to a truck.
While your local Big 5 won't have an M240B on the shelf, there is the old phrase "Improvise, adapt, overcome."
Rising Awareness then simply LEAVE THAT SHITHOLE!
Working on it
Not with that attitude you wont!
Thanks for helping me plan for my next table top starwars.
Rebel alliance vs. Empire
Showed this to my fellow players! Thank you!
Remember guys I assume this video is also a result in experience of many many ambushes in the Vietnam war. If there was the mother of all wars in ambushes I bet it was in Vietnam.
4:50 Such an accurate sound.. And the way you said ''took'' reminded me of Peregrin Took from Lord Of The Rings
I'm gonna run right over to my local Walmart and pick me up some claymores ASAP before they get bought out! Preparedness guys! It's all about preparedness!
Cogzed that’s why you should “do drugs” or at least be nice to the dealer. Could find those claymores fairly easy at his farmers market.
Well actually, you’re right. That's a great idea! I'll get with the local mom’s in my neighborhood. They say most moms are on meth anyway. So I'm sure they know some local drug dealers!

Congratulations guys. We’re all on the watch list now
A guy with your knowledge should be training groups of 10 to 12 local militias to bring this knowledge to average citizens
He probably was training rebels. Its pretty much all that US ground forces do.
That’s what the 2nd amendment is also about.
BUGZNTA now it’s time to train American rebels
PFC Shmuckatelli! I like that. Thank you for your service brother. And thanks for this very good and informative video , I enjoyed it.
Chose a ambush site which has obvious places for the enemy to take cover, naturally herding them there.
Preparing these places with suitable remote triggered mines.
Beehives, hornets nests and anthills as chokepoints.
His use of army men helps me translate this into table top starwars lol
Excellent information. Thanks for your service!
***** Appreciate it bud.
Watching this to make a Arma 3 Mission lol
Yeaahhhh... I can't really think of any other reason this video would be up on youtube. What is his target audience? Active military members? Pretty sure they already get training on this topic already...
@@realtissaye Ever heard of the second amendment? This is for civilians.

Chris Baca Thanks brother.
You a need DMR to reach out,The best optics and 5.56 rounds don’t cut It when your target is 500 600yds like the 308. or 338.
It is imperative that if you are launching and ambush against a vehicle column, that your two initial priority targets are the front vehicle (to trap the enemy from moving forward.) then the rear vehicle (to stop their retreat.

Semper Fi. Paris island class of 66.
Excellent and timely 101s. One comment- if possible place your Claymore with a decent tree or dip in the ground tween it & your pos. Turn-around risk but can get it closer.
