About Westworld:
Have you ever questioned the nature of your reality? In this dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin, a malfunction creates havoc and terror for vacationers at a futuristic adult-themed amusement park for forbidden fantasies. Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins plays Dr. Robert Ford, the brilliant, taciturn and complex creative director, chief programmer and chairman of the board of Westworld, who has an uncompromising creative vision -- and unorthodox methods of achieving it. Four-time Oscar nominee Ed Harris portrays The Man in Black, the distillation of pure villainy into one man. And Emmy Award winner Evan Rachel Wood appears as Dolores Abernathy, the quintessential Western farm girl, who is about to discover that her entire idyllic existence is an elaborately constructed lie. Westworld is inspired by the film of the same name written and directed by Michael Crichton.

one thing about HBO shows they all have amazing intro songs
Especially with Djawadi at the helm of this and Game of Thrones.
Sam Cook yup
laabitres its called Ramin ;)
Netflix series typically do have great fitting opening themes like Daredevil, Stranger Things, OITNB, Jessica Jones, Bojack Horseman, etc.

+Medic is a cutie :3 Yeah haha I've been using it since before this comment. Now that SJ is coming back, I don't plan on changing it anytime soon.
Octopus Dumplings
That premiere episode though, eh?
Started out kinda slow but I like the way it is going.
The more I hear this, the more I think of how deep the plot is getting, and how truly messed up the park is
Exactly, Anthony Hopkins is doing splendid job as an actor in the Westworld and Evan Rachel Wood is magnificent. Oh boy ;) This music gives a reason to think about the whole universe. How good or evil we are at the same time.
I think Thandie Newton is the one walking away with the whole series. #teammaeve
adamations1000 I know, right?! This theme really encompasses everything about the show. Ramin is a a genius.
Cinematic Top 10 The creation of the hosts isn't necessary to explain because they follow the concept of 'show it don't tell' in the theme song. Looks like artificial protein bio synthesis combined with 3D printing together with some other procedures. Besides that, all sci-fi explainations are at the end ''cause magic' as you can see from the warp drive, light sabers and everything else. They act like they could explain something and at the end, it's because of shiny magic rocks as in star trek, star wars or the marvel universe. Don't know which black child bothers you, but as far as I can see nothing is out of place. Most of the hosts need to have a bad dialog because that's what the visitors are paying for: a somehow believable narrative to entertain them in their desire to rape and murder, as mentioned several times. The chief writer, who gets fooled by Ford, even advices to 'dumb the hosts down, because visitors don't want to think they just murdered a real human beeing', as in general most of the narratives tend to be cheesy as hell. This can be seen in every dialog between Dolores and her lover host.
Finally, it wasn't Ford's motivation to give the hosts concionsness, but Arnold's as Arnold desired to create a real human being. The maze is created by Arnold. Ford's entire motivations seems to be unclear, but it's obvious that he has a God complex as evidenced by some of his statements in ep. 1 and 2 'that is as good as human beings can get' and 'we are like wizards. We speak the right words and create life itself'.
His last monologue on ep. 10 and the dialog about Dalos aka 'the money men' in ep.4 (I think) show that he is fed up by the primitive usage of the park and the hosts. Also, he misses Arnold and admits that Arnold's genius was crucial to the creation of the hosts.
I hope I could help you a little. Hopefully I didn't sound rude, as many say I tend to do so when I explain something about anything I like :)
The park is pretty messed up, but most of the problems are created from negligence by Delos...
This is too beautiful. Best intro iv'e heard since Game of Thrones
Black Sails aint bad either. The opening sequence looks to be in a similar style too.
Because its the same guys who do soundtrack, its Ramin Djwadi ! and he is Hans Zimmer assistant, just respect.
Dvir971 Penny Dreadful
Take a look at haunting of hill House intro.short, but Pretty good
Listen to Daredevil theme
23 people disliked because it made them think about nature of their reality
these 23 people are hosts
sheeep
Well I wouldn't think of hosts as sheep at all. I think it is is already amazing that a creation of man ( theoretically of course ), manages to question the nature of its reality with only small incentives...while humans are enjoying the "dream" ....
omg dood deepster
a girl with no name
I think it's the kind of music artists listen too when they're working on a beautiful piece
36 people were told that the maze wasn't for them...
Doesn't look like anything to me.
some people choose to see the ugliness in this world
LOL to this reply
Hosts can't see the door you mean this door Bernard? What door?
36 kars on mars?
Honestly, whenever I watch this show I replay the intro 3-4 times.. I just love the music and how it looks (Skeletal hand playing the piano to the correct tune) Mmmm, beautiful! Thank you so much for the upload!
Me too XD
The whole point of the skeletal hand playing the piano was to show how it appears that the "hosts" in Westworld seem as though they're functioning by their own accord, and the hand lifting itself up was symbolizing how, in reality, the "hosts" are functions are predetermined.
I just like it cuz its like a skeleton playing a piano, which is kinda weird and not something you see usually
Riley The Ultronist True.
You play a song in 3/4 time 3-4 times
Whenever Ramin Djawadi decides to compose some music, you know that masterpiece is coming!
It reminds me of some old classic song .. anyone knows what is resembles to?
@@ENEMYofBeezulbul Main Title Theme (The Last Emperor)?
@@DahliaKuo : ) Thanks for the reference to the The Last Emperor, but I'm afraid no, not that. It's the Piano melody that starts at 0:39... I am referring to :) It makes me feel like- there is some song I know of but must be an old one.
@@ENEMYofBeezulbul well it's either from that you only live twice bond movie or like some Bollywood song.
@@ENEMYofBeezulbul I can hear some of Game of thrones but for me it's the violins in the back at this exact same time. I looked up and I discovered he did both 😂
"Hold the door!" "What door?"
What you're saying doesn't seem like anything to me.
The Abernathys send their regards.
1st Generation Host Good, when he said that i went like "oh no, please no, not that character"
me too.. gives me chill tho
Humanity door
I keep coming back to this.. what a complete masterpiece!
👍
I'd love to hear an official "full" or "extended" version of the song, I just love it but find it too short.
Was gonna post this myself. Agreed, 100%.
I never knew a song could give me blue-balls. :(
There is one on my channel
Mavryk it's an intro song to a tv show. If anything it's too long
Black Sails is a perfect example of that - the theme is shortened for the TV show but you'd never realise it until you hear the longer version on youtube. Again a great show with a theme that suits it perfectly
First he did Game of Thrones, now he does Westworld. All in one TV network, HBO.
so what?!
Don't forget the bad ass soundtrack to Pacific Rim. That's him too!
The John Williams of TV
Person of Interest too!
Prison break too
The only intro I actually want to watch
me too :D
And game of thrones, and stranger things
And Vikings😃
And Breaking Bad
And True Detective...
It is for sure one of the best TV show i've ever seen since everything is so calculated and controlled, the plot is really strong and actors are amazing. Every details have a special meaning and this is what makes Westworld such an incredible tvshow
Nukes for Dayz Nk gg?
And then they had to make a sequel.. and a sequel.. and a sequel..
Ramin Djawadi is a god, I fell in love with this show the minute the titles started rolling.
I love this soundtrack, such beauty. Plus the show is great.
its... its an art!
I choose to see the beauty in this world, but that's its poison.
The beautiful trap...
Is within us.
What? I it doesn't look like anything to me.
This music is from hindi movie om Shanti om
00:55 epic!!
The cowgirl on the horse just adds perfection! Love this theme, I listen and play air piano at the same time! Lool!
00:32 and 00:52 kills me
Doesn't look like anything to me.
0:39-0:42 Xd
00:00 - 01:42 Epic
0:52 what a wonderful theme change!
0:55 is where u know shit is getting real
i cant believe there are people disliking this music??? wtf?
they have no souls. they probably don't like kittens and puppies too.
Scar it makes them....
....question their reality.
You should probably learn to bare the fact the other people have differing opinions than you. :)
It's impressive!
cardinal151515 People will always hate things.. without arguments, they dont need it. Just hate..
Season 1 was truly something else, sadly can't say the same about the rest
Reaching out to you as a fan who was hooked since the first episode. I still put people on to season 1, it has such incredible storytelling, visuals, and acting and should be appreciated separate from the main series.
What are you talking about? The rest was also excellent. Maybe not on par with season 1 (which is very hard) but still a very high quality series.
Man, I wish I could experience the first season for the first time all over again
Ramin Djawadi is the man, I've liked all of his work so far and it's been really really really freaking good.
alba He was a pupil of Hans Zimmer. He was taught epicness
I was going to comment, have you heard about hanz Zimmer only to find out that some one has already mentioned about him 😂😂😂😂
@@ron101ist Hans Zimmer was his matser
can't stop listening to this masterpiece :)
I can't get enough of this song!! Somebody help me!!
Finally JJ realises his potential. He's shown glimpses before, but this show is just something else. Its magnificent. Cant wait to see more!
Zeal In Christ He is an awesome composer!
Cubly JJ is director not a composer :D
The Bat He was talking about Ramin Djawadi :D
An epic show deserves an epic theme and this delivers exactly that.
I really love the section at 0:56 onwards. The entire theme is in 6/8 time signature but this section plays it's first bar on regular beat with the next bar having its first beat emphasised on the off beat (syncopated) for that bar, then the music resolves itself back to the regular best for the rest of the theme.
Really fascinating bit of composition, makes me feel like it was a glitch in the system somewhere, adding to the overall sense of tension and unease in the music - much like the show itself.
What instruments are used in this masterpiece???
Aye, that's the beauty of hemiola. I love 6/8.
been putting this on repeat, gives me chills everytime
I soooo loved first season of this show, masterpiece in plot, music, characters… I watched entire season in one night fr
perfect :
guitar for "old" sound (far west)
piano always present in the saloon
2nd part which represents the future (more technical, less lyric, violins and cellos more agressive)
and chromatic ( 0:52 ) part for "all seems beautiful but in fact not"
Ramin Djawadi "hears" series. Really.
I thought so as well. A very good and logically constructed blend. When I first listened to the theme years ago, and the orchestral section began, I thought "this probably represents the behind the scenes matters in the park and developing the robots". Sort of a dark waltz...
The Western parts of the theme also remind me of Morricone's music for Leone's films. Clearly intentional. The tune in the beginning sounds somewhat like The Ecstasy of Gold and the "deceivingly beautiful" ending is Djawadi's version of the Man with the Harmonica. ;-)
Hehe you guys should check Bear McCreary. He's top game, IMO
the piano doesn't murder the player if it doesn't like the music
Just started watching “3 Body Problem” on Netflix, and the opening theme has a lot of elements found in this song, so I came to verify if it’s the same composer, and yup, it sure is.
It's really interesting... If you listen, it sounds like it can be two songs but they're masterfully woven together. It's just like the show: the real world & Westworld.
I can't stop listening to this. And even after watching the serie I couldn't forget the soundtrack. I was imagining it every time.
how this can be so beautyful?
baceuse its a show good
i want a 1 hour version of repeating perfectly the part from [0:55] to [1:05] so bad
i keep replaying that part
it's so good
I don't know exactly where from but these pieces remind me of The Phantom of the Opera
@@SonyaOpritova Both POTO and this are blatant plagiarism of Pink Floyd's "Echoes"

@Hmmm. would you settle for a 24 minute version?
I love that thing he did with the timing there..its so cool
Sounds like the galloping of a horse. Like someone is running away.
I'm hooked up with this show already
seriously, amazing work by Ramin Djawadi ...I love how the beat goes and variations in this song
A truly masterpiece. The same guy of Game Of Thrones, this show can't be wrong at anything; what a show. When Game Of Thrones is no more, this is THE SHOW to look. In fact, this is the only show that can match and sometimes even overcome GOT. What a beauty, and with the music of Ramin Djawadi is an excellent touch. Can't ever express anymore what this show with this music means. Everything.
Well, the next season is in 2018 so Game Of Thrones will be over. But lets face it, HBO will milk the GoT universe dry with a shitty spin off within no time.
javier negron except GoT was already written out almost completely before they started. This show is based off one book and once that's done they're on their own. I can already tell there isnt enough source material to last. great show. but should have been a mini series. Theyre gonna start jumping the shark real soon with things lik so and so is not a human or dead. or this host did this and that cause he wss programmed by Arnold or some bogus plot twist. for all intents and purposes, the show is done
Jimmy Hollywood even worse. means they have even less source material to work with. season 2 is gonna suck, just writers off the top of their head with no clue where to go just using cheap plot twists. just like what happened with Homeland when that show went on longer than its story
I think it will last for couple of seasons, but usually all shows that are based on movies have problems with new seasons, yet there are good shows based on movies. I got what you are saying, and they already say that have some problems, but i hope you are wrong :)
amazing theme song
Such an awesome theme.
I can't stop of hearing this every day Since the Show start
One of the most beautifully composed theme music
I love the intro of westworld and dat title theme
fantastic soundtrack
This is far and away the best first series of a television show ever created. Surely?
This show is gorgeous in every way possible.
this show got one of the best sound tracks.. I need game of thrones too
it's the same guy, that writes the music
I just discovered that as well :)
You can definitely hear some similarities to the GoT opening, structural. They definitely both have a different mood and both work the same, but if you listen to them one after the other, there's the same climbing quarter notes underneath in places. Listen to enough Hans Zimmer or Danny Elfman you'll hear the same thing. They have their palette and it works for them.
@phantom12321800 spot on. I am in the process of experimenting with violin and electric guitar on a similar style. Can't play violin and I haven't been playing guitar for too long, but the instrument combination is brilliant. Those climbing notes with the eventual climax is what makes it all, but as you mentioned works for some.
phantom12321800 being half Iranain and studying Middle Eastern Music (him, not me), all his music has very deep connections to Classical Persian music. The intro to Game of Thrones borrows very heavily from it. It's not European medieval or Celtic at all, he doesn't use flutes or harpsichords any sort of chanting of that sort of folksy style that was European medieval. It's westernized classical Iranian music using more western instruments. kind of a blend of classical and Persian.
very good. The end theme is lovely too
