“Your company is always welcome here.” I have to say, that was probably the sweetest way to end a RUclips video. It has more depth and meaning than “thanks for watching.” 😊
I agree ❤ this is only the second video I have watched, I just found this channel. You have such a sweet, calming voice to listen to and yes, that is a very sweet ending.
Hi Laramie. I found you quite by surprise. This video popped up on my recommendation list, so I decided to watch it. After watching this one, I went back and watched the other three videos you have posted and I was hooked on your personality and your story. I can't say I live a super frugal life, as you do, but I found myself wanting to know more about you and your new living adventure. I wish you and your family all the best with someday acquiring more land for all things you plan and love. About me: I am 63 years old (I could be your grandmother) and live in Northern Maine with my husband. Born and raised here, we've been married for 43 years now. After many years of working a career in the transcription industry, a lung disease dominated that I end my beloved career, go on oxygen 24/7, and stay at home. It is what I was delt and I've learned to accept it and live with it. I have subscribed to your channel and can't wait to get to know you better through future videos. Good luck with this new adventure on RUclips, Sweetie.
It’s nice to meet you Cindy 💕 I’m glad that you are here! I’ve heard wonderful things about the beauty of Maine, maybe one day we’ll get to visit. 43 years of marriage sounds like such a wonderful accomplishment. I’m excited to get to know you as well.
Hi Janet. They say hard times don't last. I hope you plow through them and come out on the other end happier and in a better place than you are right now. Happy holidays, dear lady.
My sweetest memories are of my grand babies walking through the door and declaring they are hungry and their dad throwing his hands up and saying he just fed them. They love my cooking as simple as it is.
Ah this warms my heart. We live near my husbands mother and that same scenario plays out several days a week. ♥️😂 it doesn’t matter that I had just fed them, food is always better at grandma’s house!
We had little money growing up and my Mom could make a meal out of anything. Some of those meals I still make today. I am so grateful my Mom taught me this skill.
First time watching your channel! Looked so good, would love to try it.not sure of all the ingredients used tho. What was in the mason jar and the small spice jar? 😊
There is something so magical about watching you work that reminds me of how I feel in my own kitchen. Being able to make something nourishing and tasty out of simple ingredients is so empowering. I'm so incredibly grateful I learned how to cook from a young age, from both my parents, especially my dad. He almost never uses recipes yet could always whip up something delicious and balanced even out of really humble ingredients. And as you know, once you have a few fundamentals mastered, there begins to be no limit to the skills you can grow and the ways you can be creative in caring for your family. It seems like we are undergoing a renaissance for home cooking and it's wonderful to see. Being able to do this is POWER. It is the best feeling. 💛
I enjoyed watching you today. My situation is a little different than yours, but much the same. I lost my husband this year and am having to adapt to cooking for one on a social security budget. I plan meals around the grocery sales flyer, and like you, try to stretch things out so my meals have some interest. One challenge is that it's difficult to find meats in small quantities. This week my one pound of ground beef will be made into chili. I also plan on using that chili for a couple of stuffed baked potato meals. Maybe a meals worth will go into the freezer if I have had enough, and some is left over.
I’m so sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine the challenges you’re walking through without him. I will pray for you ♥️ If you’ve ever got any questions, please ask, I will help you cooking in any way I can ♥️
I suggest you get a vacuum sealer, I cook in larger quantity, freeze THEN vacuum seal the portions. Prepared this way the food is good for up to a year. Even fresh meats vacuum sealed but not frozen last much longer in the fridge.
I'm a widow sister living on SSI and a little side income. Blessings to you as you learn to navigate this new world. It's really hard to go from feeding a family of guys to being alone. Be careful as I've already struggled to keep iron, potassium, other nutrients in my diet to prevent anemia, etc. I did splurge and spend $400 for a freezer to freeze meats, cook with the meats, then freeze small packages (often vacuum sealed) of the finished meals to suit my needs. So sorry for this lonely hard time. 🤗🥲
Good job Momma !👍 We live paycheck to paycheck and I’m a 58yr old grandmother that is on disability. Living with my adult daughter and her children. For the first time in my life . And where as food was the one luxury we had . That’s just no longer the case I’m doing more baking and cooking in the last 7 months than I’ve been able to in the last 23 yrs . It’s very rewarding and humbling to help fix nutritious, healthy and affordable foods for my kids . Thanks for your post .

I am a widower, I cook most of my meals from scratch. I look for sales on meats, then i buy in quanity. The meats are then portioned out for each meal and frozen. I stay away from prepared meals. I love your content. It’s so on point and pertinent. We went thru a time of frugality, which really tested us. I honed my cooking skills even more and in the end I learned to cook everything from scratch. We are no longer struggling, but I still cook from scratch. My kids come home from college often just to eat and be with family. I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. God bless sweet friend 🙏🏼❤️

While I appreciate what you’re doing on this channel it absolutely infuriates me that in this country we have so many humans who go without. Without food, a home, health insurance, prescriptions and so on. There’s no reason for anyone to have to live below the poverty line in a country that’s has plenty of money and resources. We the people need to demand more from our government and only vote for those who are truly wanting to make our lives a little better and a little more affordable!! Thank you for being a light for those who need a little bit of that light ❤
The truly sad part of our condition is we can’t agree on how government should best serve our needs. We quote the bootstrap lie all the time and use it to beat people up. We give to those that we think will give to us. How sick is that.
Be proud to stand tall. Your creative skills will take you and your family far. Nothing easy is ever truly satisfying, which its the struggle that makes us proud of ourselves. Your children will see you and be better prepared for this life heck yeah!!!!!!!
Wow I’m amazed at the comments I’m reading !! U ladies who know how to stretch several meals I say it’s an Art !!! Fantastic , we need more of u ladies here !!
Using the old ways. This is how my family taught me to cook. I still do, although I don't have to. My mother, who recently passed, was the same. Being frugal is always a good way of life. Both my boys and their spouses have embraced this their entire lives. It's wonderful to see you helping others. Oh, I almost forgot, mom, grandma, and myself also clean as we go. Frozen vegetables are an excellent cost savings.
Being frugal is not a good way of life (neither is excessive), it is simply necessary sometimes, as I'm sure we all want more from life than just being on the poverty (or below) line.
I wasn't always a farmer but I'm 77 now and have cooked from scratch from the start. When money was tight growing we never felt hungry. One big pot served us all and going into the next day! It's nice to have the odd bit of junk food but it's not the same x
I make the best use of whatever i have. Meals are fresh and frugal. We are healthy and happy. I buy groceries on discount and put them to good use. I love your attitude to life. ❤
I found your channel months ago and just subscribed. I like how you show your meal preparation from beginning to end. You use whole ingredients and nutritious food. You seem to really like cooking for your family and keeping them healthy. No seasoning packets, instant potatoes or side dishes. They are convenient but full of salt and other preservatives and coloring and expensive. I have been married for almost 50 years and this is how I cooked for my whole life. We were always on a budget but always ate good wholesome food. Seldom ate at a restaurant. Only as a treat for a special day. When I watch your videos, I still learn something. Thank you for showing us how to be a homemaker.
I just found your channel, have subscribed and am loving everything you are voicing. In today's world, we need to learn how to get back to basics....family, love and of course...home cooking with heart ❤
What this precious channel is to us now, Amy Dacyczyn was to us in the '90's. She published "The Tightwad Gazette" - a monthly newsletter of radical frugality and insane homemaking that made people shake their heads. Thousands of us subscribed to her paper monthly newsletter we received by mail (remember no Internet) but she finally combined them in an anthology form in books by the same title you may find on eBay or in libraries. Fantastic material - both tools to get a new mindset and practical ways to act and live.
Yes you will love Tightwad Gazette. Get the Complete Tightwad Gazette which is like 4 books compiled into one! I enjoyed these books raising my kids and lots of helpful tips for families!
I'm so very glad I found your channel! I'm extremely frugal, and I'm going to prep 10lbs of chicken I got yesterday for an amazing deal of 99 cents per pound and freeze it for stir frys. New subscriber here but I am a long time home cook I cook and share with others who dont cook or are alone. My mother was from WVA too . I remember many summers as a kid and so many good times to share. I am also a frugal person, out of necessity and how I grew up. Too bad they dont teach a life skill like cooking in schools anymore! Keep it up !! Happy Holidays~
I grew up with a single mom and us 4 girls till she remarried a wonderful man when I was 15. Then we got 1 more sister. Things eased a bit on buget but things were always tight. My mom cooked wonderful meals on such a tight budget and that is how I learned. Many of my friends now make the comment either they or their partners will not eat leftovers. I don't understand this. Growing up those were some of our favorites ham & bean soup cause momma got a ham on sale for Sunday dinner or chicken & dumplings cause "there was so much broth left from the chicken she cooked earlier in the week". I adore my friends but I often think these people are going to starve to death if things get even worse with our economy. I enjoy that you explain to people that food ingredients don't have to be expensive to be tasty and belly filling.
I do never waste leftovers I'm 57 and was raised like that in Germany (from post WW2 generation). Sometimes, we do 1 day all leftovers from the days before, it's just me and my husband. 😅

I love cooking good stuff that to me tastes better and is definitely healthier than restaurants or ugh fast food. A good couple cookbooks and improvising skills savecthe day.
Tip: if you have an Ollies in your area, i have gotten a nice assortment of spices there. Some in large sizes as shown in this bideo, but also the smaller 3 oz (i think) jars.
Taught hubby that we can save a lot more money with blueberry oatmeal just purchasing oats and frozen blueberries and using the honey his aunt gifts us (we have a lot of it, it is awesome). He used to purchase those microwave Quaker Oats that cost like $2 a container. Now it's his pride and joy to wake up and make oatmeal ahaha. Not only is home-cooked food healthier and tastier, it also brings a self-worth that makes it all the more wholesome and delicious and cheaper.
I found your channel by accident when it came up on my recommendation to watch. I watched that video and became very interested in what you had to say. Such good advice for a young person. I am a widower, I cook most of my meals from scratch. I look for sales on meats, then i buy in quanity. The meats are then portioned out for each meal and frozen. I stay away from prepared meals. My yearly income is 30k, I plan on learning to can meats & veggies soon along with making my own bread, bisquits, & tortillas. My pantry is well stocked so in the case of a situation of bare shelves @ the stores I am ready. I enjoy your videos....Thank you.
Thank you for inviting us into your home. I too am cooking more from scratch at home. Not only because it’s cheaper but it’s healthier as well. God’s blessings to you and your family. Issaquah, WA 🇺🇸
I just found your channel and im so glad i did. I want to be as frugal as possible but still offer completely different meals using the same ingredients. I love to cook from scratch, so I'm m ready to binge watch your previous videos. Can't wait to get some good tips to be better in preparing food and meals.
Well welcome to our little community here 🥰 I’m glad you found us!
This is one of the most relaxing videos I have seen. I just found you. You are beautiful, through and through!❤
Thank you so much!
Beans. Healthier and less expensive than chicken.
You have inspired me, I’m on a 3 day water only fast and when I come off of this fast I’m going to start what I’ve learned from you. Thank you and God bless you
Madam, you are creative and professional, God bless you
I love your content.
♥️
I love this format! The no-talk just nice text with instructions on how to cook the food. I hope this will be your format moving forward. Thank you
Lovely video! I love the calming music. Just today I went to Aldi's for groceries. I'm going to try to make more meals with fresh ingredients. I'm interested in the Mediterranean type diet for health benefits. I found your channel from your comments on Coffee With Kate. Good luck growing your channel. I just subscribed!
Thank you so much for subscribing. I’m so glad you’re here! Aldi is a great store, we’ve got it where I am too. The Mediterranean diet is a wonderful way to eat, very delicious :)
I loved your video. You have a great way of walking through life and that makes life good. Keep making videos!!
Thank you so much! You are so kind ♥️
Just found you today so happy I did!!! A real true to life video keep up the good work❤
Thank you so much for watching ♥️
Lexy Sauvé brought me here. 🥰 Subscribed!
Be proud to stand tall. Your creative skills will take you and your family far. Nothing easy is ever truly satisfying, which its the struggle that makes us proud of ourselves. Your children will see you and be better prepared for this life heck yeah!!!!!!!
I'm 65, You remind me of my mother. We had a family of 8. Six boys and my parents. With a limited budget, my Mom fed us, and we all thrived.
Wow I’m amazed at the comments I’m reading !! U ladies who know how to stretch several meals I say it’s an Art !!! Fantastic , we need more of u ladies here !!
Bless and Thank you for posting such an inspirational message.
Thankyou for helping us and sharing!
Thank you for being here! ☺️
I wasn't always a farmer but I'm 77 now and have cooked from scratch from the start. When money was tight growing we never felt hungry. One big pot served us all and going into the next day! It's nice to have the odd bit of junk food but it's not the same x
Please keep making cooking videos. Your a very smart and creative young woman.
Thank you, I plan on it ♥️
May be the best cooking video I have seen.

First time seeing your videos. You are such an inspiration. Mary
You are so kind, Mary! Thank you for being here ♥️
I make the best use of whatever i have.
You are so kind! I’m glad you’re here ♥️
I just found your channel, have subscribed and am loving everything you are voicing. In today's world, we need to learn how to get back to basics....family, love and of course...home cooking with heart ❤
That looks delicious! Thank you for sharing. Keep posting videos. ❤
Thank you, I will! Thank you for being here!💕
Love this ty liked and subscribed.you are wonderful
Thank you so much for being here ♥️
What this precious channel is to us now, Amy Dacyczyn was to us in the '90's.
I’ve had quite a few people mention her book through the comments. I’m going to have to check it out ♥️
Yes you will love Tightwad Gazette. Get the Complete Tightwad Gazette which is like 4 books compiled into one! I enjoyed these books raising my kids and lots of helpful tips for families!
..watching you with love from Philippines
Looked delicious!
Thank you 😋
I am very interested in how you cook and would love some recipes. Thank you for your videos
you are amazing lady with positive actitude, and your food looks so yum
Thank you so much ♥️
I'm so very glad I found your channel! I'm extremely frugal, and I'm going to prep 10lbs of chicken I got yesterday for an amazing deal of 99 cents per pound and freeze it for stir frys. My husband and I just love that type of healthy and balanced meal. Thank you for the reminder! We can be healthy and frugal! Can't wait to watch more of your channel! 💖🌹May God bless you extra special today! 🙏
That’s a great deal! Thank you for watching and supporting my channel ♥️
Also, to tidy up as you go along saves a lot of clutter like you're doing. Makes more room too x
Good for you, I in Japan we have 6 children aged well one has flown the nest the next buys his own but the others. Are aged between 9-2 weeks and I love it. You have a new sub.
How fun! Welcome to my channel ♥️
I had 5 kids and always cooked from scratch. No prepackaged foods, just wholesome meals. People today just have to learn how to cook real food and to use spices like you do and meals will never be boring!
I agree! Food in our home is never boring 😁 thanks for being here!
This was very relaxing to watch 😊
Well thank you ☺️
Thank you for this 🙏❤️
Hi, found you from coffee with Kate’s comment section, subscribing now!
Welcome!! Thank you for being here!
thanks
This is going yo be a real education for me. I don't see how all these budget meals can be made with meat!!! Glad I'M HERE
I’m glad you’re here too ♥️
I have that jar. I use it for condensed milk ❤
Agreed! Thanks for being here ♥️
I grew up with a single mom and us 4 girls till she remarried a wonderful man when I was 15.
Leftovers are eaten in our home too ♥️ either rewarmed or recreated into a new meal! It sounds like your mother is a wonderful lady!
I do never waste leftovers I'm 57 and was raised like that in Germany (from post WW2 generation). Sometimes, we do 1 day all leftovers from the days before, it's just me and my husband. 😅
This is how I was raised....we always had good food
Hi! I came from Centsible Living with Money Mom's channel and subscribed. I watched the videos you posted 2 years ago and 6 months ago. Where is your new home. Would love to see renovations and hear what you're planning to do. Would you mind including recipes of what you're cooking? I enjoyed the relaxing music. Take care, Linda 🦋
We live in West Virginia now! A beautiful state! Yes, recipes will be something I’ll be sharing! Thank you so much for subscribing. It means so much to me that you’re here ♥️
WV girl here, glad ya'll are here!! Love your channel, just subscribed. I found it on the canning page
@@Misery27 ahh thank you so much for finding me on here 💕
@@TheProductiveHomemakerFirst time watching your channel. Loved the video but disappointed because there isn’t a recipe 😔
@@TheProductiveHomemaker I should have said a list of ingredients. The seasoning in the mason jar wasn’t marked and the last seasoning in the small jar, I couldn’t read what it was. I’ve never made honey garlic chicken and would like to try. Thank you 💖
I love cooking good stuff that to me tastes better and is definitely healthier than restaurants or ugh fast food. A good couple cookbooks and improvising skills savecthe day.
I totally agree!
Tip: if you have an Ollies in your area, i have gotten a nice assortment of spices there. Some in large sizes as shown in this bideo, but also the smaller 3 oz (i think) jars.
Love your channel
Thank you!
This is so sweet and wholesome ♥️♥️♥️ I bet his oatmeal is delicious!
Paused the video around 2 1/2 minutes to subscribe bc Im feeling the vibes
♥️
I found your channel by accident when it came up on my recommendation to watch. I watched that video and became very interested in what you had to say. Such good advice for a young person. It's the way I have always lived. I was brought up on a farm in the south. We grew what we needed and had a hog to kill every year. I didn't even know about beef. We had pork and chicken. Keep up on your hard work. I'm watching this late so congratulations on 10,000 subscribers.
But I did want to say on the videos where you don't talk, I can't read the captions before they disappear. Could maybe you do voice over instead. But that might be to much work. Just a suggestion. Love your videos. 😊
Making gravy with the meats you cook can help go further and give nutrients just as the actual meat.
Lovely video and I’m hoping down the track you may have posted the recipe 🙂 new subscriber here from New Zealand and I’m looking forward to catching up on the rest of your videos ❤
