I was tempted to purchase this myself but the internet its full of reviews saying that after about 10 oranges it overheats and stops. Apparently Breville claims this machine is meant to use only 5-10 minutes and then rest one hour in between. Its way too expensive for such a short performance. Also, the cone that goes above the fruit apparently it breaks down after a short use and needs constant replacement which it’s not covered by the warranty. Breville has admitted to this fault in design. It’s such a shame because otherwise it would be a great juice press.

We make about 800ml of juice at a time which can be anywhere up to about 8 oranges and have never had a problem. We use it at least twice a week and it still looks like new, not had any issues at all. The inside of the top cone has discoloured slightly but you can't see that unless you remove it and look at the inside, has no effect on performance and can't be seen until disassembled

I owned and used one of these for several years. It's all and all okay. But not worth the money by a long ways. For the price, one would expect (and I did) it would be capable of high production juice and last many years. But it does neither. It is just like any of the juicers out there in that it is designed for a low level of juice production and the more you use it, it gets stressed and falls apart. Mine lasted about 2 years before it started falling apart and now it finally quit after about 5 years. Well, I suppose one could consider that is the life expectancy of such a unit, but heck, I can buy one for 50 bucks and get the same performance. Skip it.

Theres two types, a plastic version and metal.. which one are you referring too? This one was designed to last longer than its sibling.

really useful video, as I’m planning on purchasing so thank you! Are you still using this and what are your thoughts about it’s performance after using it regularly (if you use it regularly)?

Would you recommend paying extra for the stainless steel one or just going with the cheaper option? The cheaper one still has same motor.

Is this Sage the same as Breville 800 citrus press?
