You hear women say it all the time, the reason many prefer the "thug" over the "lame" is because the "lame" is boring to them and appears to be weak.
There's a scene in the movie "Goodfellas" where Karen Hill (wife of mob associate Henry Hill) is describing her attraction to him and one of the things she points out is that he and other mob guys are willing to take risks to have a better life. THAT'S the appeal of thugs to a lot of women.
The lame is going to persist at his 9-5 and when he complains about how unfair something is at work or is exhausted from 8 or more hours of hard labor, she sees him as being weak and thinks that she will never experience "the finer things in life" with him.
Many such women would rather have a taste of "the finer things" with a thug than to potentially never do so with the lame. It's really that simple.
What "finer things" are thugs providing? All I see are a bunch of struggle situationships and baby mommas. The average women, which are most women are not being flown out anywhere. They're not experiencing anything "fine" but they still choose the thug.
