You guys are crushing it. The last part of the desert kicks your behind. You were wise to wait. Once you are done with the desert you will be into your next challenge. Less water but a heavy bear can snd lots of extreme elevation. Don’t be surprised you will be out of breath a lot at first. Your lungs will get used to it. Take advantage of great towns like lone pine snd bishop. Bishop has schats bakery that is awesome. Get their famous mule kick sandwich. Lone pine is great. Alabama hills cafe has a killer breakfast. Super hiker friendly town. Everything is walking distance. Mammoth is the ski resort town. It’s cool. Has famous devils post pile you don’t want to miss if you are there
Really enjoy the video chronicles of your PCT experiences. Our son worked in Ridgecrest for 11 years at NAVAIR and that wind and sand literally sandblasted the paint off his truck. We have visited many times and your video brought back lots of memories hiking against the wind around there. It didn’t matter which way you hiked because the wind always seemed to be in your face! 😳 And I love the way you record your steps each day on the map. Very cool!
Went on a day hike on the PCT today from Kennedy Meadows campground to Crag creek and back. Saw no one on the trail, a few hikers at Grumpy Bears though.
You are really putting down those miles. They said on another channel that 50% of thru-hikers bail before mile 500. You have smashed this and well on your way to Canada. You seem to have as much spring in your step as you did on day one, probably more. Really enjoying your vlog.
Safer to bail and wait out the storm than to be stuck out there in all that bad weather. Had the hiker just checked the weather and turned back themselves too? Good decision. You will be well rested. I still can't believe the miles you are doing. You will in Canada before July at this rate. Do you have an estimated completion date? Some can only get so much time off work then have to be back. Is this the case with you or if you need to take extra ZEROs and slow a bit do you have that flexibility? Loving the daily maps too BTW.
Glad you're safe from the storm today! I'm excited to see your footage from the High Sierra (geologically the Sierras start at Tehachapi), and nervous about how little snow there's going to be. Good for hikers, but bad for those of us in the Central Valley.
I’ve been looking for you, backpackers making a good RUclips video as most of these are RUclipsrs making a backpacking video. The difference is night and day as your making miles and there making excuses. So here we go, real deal, get on up there your storming this ribbon of dirt.
Oh no, no longer slack packing, but now with full packs and your minds set on Kennedy Meadows, the official start of the Sierras... Good start 17 mile day and hooray for Two Forks... Gotta love the trees and 600 miles... 21 mile day, getting those trail legs back... Wow almost like the 3rd gate water cache back at the beginning... Little Windy and a 22 day mile, crushing those miles... that is a well worn trail, good deal, it makes it difficult to get lost... Snow in the Sierras... 29 mile day WOW, quick hitch to Ridgecrest, resupply and back on the trail... Nero/Zero?... Get some rest and SAFE HIKING
ANGELS 😍ALLLL MIINEEEE 😍😗😙😚😎
THANKYOU FOR THE WALLET UPDATE!!!! I am. 68 yo worrywart. I was thinking how can you manage without any form of ID for starters. The best news👏👏👏👏
You guys are amazing, 29 miles in a day this early in your journey. Stay healthy stay safe. The best is yet to come. The high Sierra beckons.

Beautiful scenery good hiking you two!
Enjoying the replay on RELIVE.
It's cool to see the miles covered over the terrain.
Love the daily maps! Maybe put a video of the maps at the end? Or one now and insert photos along the way? Snowing now in Sierra... Happy Trails!!

Can we please use these as the description for the videos ?
@@sam.and.moriah Of course, and thanks for taking us along on your hike. SAFE HIKING
Looking strong guys! Keep it up.
I'm so happy to hear you guys are doing amazing mileage and doing it safely. I miss the margaritas! Hi to everyone.
Looks like you're having a great time! Personally, I love windy nights while sleeping in my tent :)
It’s great if you are sleepy enough! Haha
As long as it's not TOO windy.
You guys take shelter plz got a huge storm coming into walker pass and north!
We are inside! Glad we made the decision to stay in
What If you Need to pee during the Long hike? Especially the Lady?
You have to hold it until the next town
@@sam.and.moriah Oh that's rude!!!!!!;)
Yes, I’m totally kidding. When backpacking you just get used to using the bathroom outside, it’s not so bad!
Sorrry, I was teasing. Your first response was hilarious.
So what place outside to pee are you looking for? Especially you as a Lady Moriah?
Glad you're doing it young. At my age, no way :(
Really like the daily relive map data updates. Is the elevation number at the end feet climbed for the day or total elevation change, up and down?
Total climbed for the day
I did it in 2017 and I camped at the same places you did.
What is the app you are using to show your tracks, that is amazing
I am 55 soon would love to do even a part of it.
Hi Sam
