- I'm driving the new Hyundai i20 WRC Hybrid on a twisty tarmac stage :)
Game: WRC Generations, Xbox Series X
Racing Ahead, Codemasters.
My Fanatec Setup:
Steering Wheel: CSL WRC
Wheel Base: CS WB V2.5
Pedals: CSL Elite
Shifter: CS SQ
Handbrake: CS HB V1.5
- Car Setup: default settings.
- All driving assists are off.

there is one thing the WRC games get right and it's the stage design.
Generations seems like a step forwards from WRC 10 too.
Hopefully we can have stages like that and amazing engine sounds and graphics when Codemasters take over. Unless they mess it up. God help us.
Isn't it because they are real stages and Dirt Rally can't really make them, because they do not have WRC license?

I drive the street version of this car and I can tell: The i20N is just love.
Don’t know why people are saying this looks bad. It looks fine. I really like the intricate stage design and narrow roads. This does look like a low graphics preset though, I hope we can turn up the textures and foliage models in the settings. The sound has improved, but there’s still a way to go.
At least the physics are good.
Dirt 2.0 fans like to hop on play through vids and hate. It’s weird.
Just basic dirt rally fanboy, they just see it from how the graphic and the sounds. I mean, i also play Dirt rally and if they talk about realism, there are a lot of unrealistic moments from Dirt Rally as well like the bounce i find it a bit exaggerated
My guess about the low graphics would be that's it's the tour de corse rally (from WRC8). They improved the graphisms but it might still look a bit off. The new sweden rally on the other hand looks fantastic.
It's significantly better that WRC10 tho. Dr2.0 fanbois can't get enough.

Except with EA now owning codemasters, that’s about all it will be… they’re going to make it appeal to ‘everyone’ so everyone can have fun. Which means fluorescent pink cars and driver avatars hair. Horrible physics, arcade game for sure. Just with WRC cars.

Wow, they actually managed to do a good sound. I didn't hear how Toyota or Ford sound like, but Hyundai sounds good enough for me when compared to real-life sound
After 18 years, RBR has still the most realistic handling
RBR itself never had that good physics by itself, but NGP however is awesome (and is still being kept up-to-date!)

The one thing I’ve always liked about these games is that the cars actually seem to react like they do in real life in terms of suspension and weight transfer in the replays (if only they could’ve came out with a proper tuning menu with better explanations for ppl who don’t understand, so they can know how to tune the cars proper as I feel that’s why a lot of ppl hate on these games) but in DR2.0 the cars just never feel like this they feel really rough and rigid. Yes I like DR2.0 better, however there are some things in WRC games that I like better, like the stages for example. I remember playing WRC 8 before dr2.0, and got a free trial of DR2.0 and thought the game looked too cartoony like everything was just too perfect, and actually liked how WRC cars reacted to turns and that. Eventually I bought dr2.0 when I realized WRC games had a serious flaw for controller players that could’ve so easily been fixed (can’t adjust how fast your tires turn left or right, like you can in DR2.0) and I didn’t put DR2 down for a solid year and a half. Smashing my time and getting in the top 100 or top 50 on leaderboards is a good feeling. I’ve done it in WRC too, I guess I’m saying it’s ok to like both games. Lol
finally a decent sound design! disappointing it’ll be their last game, i really started enjoying the WRC games starting with WRC 8. i will most definitely pick this up once it’s on sale
You should here the Mitsu, if you redline in 1st coming out of a hairpin it sounds like you dumped a box of screws into a blender.

Played this for the first time today: how you can do this is just amazing. I think I hit every wall and tree going.
Bored to bits playing Dirt 2.0 at this stage, will be definitely buying this game for a new challenge.
It may not be as polished as DR2, but as far as stages go, you're absolutely in for a treat

Ah! Engine sounds seem to have had a little bit of improvement. Still inspired by hoover. But sounds better!
There's Antilag sounds but the boost pressure drops? Btw at start was the car holding RPM itself or was that you ?
DiRT generally provide more engagement, feeling of movement.

Seems like the tarmac handling is better on this game than in Dirt Rally 2.0, is it the case ?
WRC has been better for a few years , DR2 tarmac physics are awful

do you play in an H-shaped gearbox? I can’t find an option in the settings to change gears only when the clutch is depressed. But they turn on for me even without it, although I chose a manual transmission. HELP!(

What is your max. steering wheel angle? I have 540°. But this feels very weird in this game for some reason.
Real life is 540. One and a half each side…
Go into settings in game, then key binds, select steering left and right then turn the saturation down to between 40%-25%. Make sure that both left and right are the same saturation though, you'll be all screwed up if they aren't.

my bad, 1 and a half on each side is 1080 degrees
They improved the sound a bit but it's till flat and monotone. last night I tried driving a Junior Ford Fiesta Car and my goodness the sound is so aweful I can't even hear what gears I am. Sure I can look at the speedometer but I cant tell if my car is in the correct gear based on the sound.

Yes they have! I feel like they are changing the physics little by little, game by game. And the third person camera follows the car better now compared to the older games :)

it is slippy. Also it doesent matter if you are driving AWD or FWD. it feels like you are driving RWD.
@@RealNoobmaster In wrc10 all RWD felt like AWD, so I guess it's an improvement on one end :D
I kinda wonder if you ever try "Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo" before. If you haven't, could you give the game a go? I rarely seen anyone master the game with a steering wheel.
Slre has best tarmac physics compared to any other rally game .i was sad to see it fail so badly because of 30 fps console versions and a bad pc port

Force feedback feels super numb compared to other sims (I have messed with the FFB settings for a while) finding it very difficult to drive, anyone have any tips that might help?
I usually turn mine completely off...it's a bit of a learning curve if you are used to ffb...but it helps me so I'm hoping it might help you:)
depends really on what youre used to. RBR -> basically leave everything up and adjust a bit to taste. RBR WRC with no FFBSens adjustment -> max out self center, leave everything else normal. DR2 -> up the details, lower the suspension load attribution, lower the tyre friction.
One main thing to remember, self center is not just a spring thats always on. Self centering here is part of the mechanical alignment of the tyres - what makes the tyres point where the car is going.
Compared to the previous releases, this FFB felt much more comfortable out of the box. Less bullshit, less soft and dead.
Yes, ever since WRC 8, the FFB has been pretty crappy with no real FFB form the road surface, which is too bad because WRC 7 had amazing FFB from the road surface. The FFB is better in WRC G than it was in 10, but it's still pretty lackluster.

What are the differences from the driving model from Dirt2?
Looking for something new, but I still love Dirt2 and it is the one I feel the best with pad and my skills

With pad I drive fast on Dirt2.0.
With sim I can’t stay on track with Dirt 🤷🏻♂️
I lack of experience and I don’t own simulator set up (only for rent in a videogames shop).
Rbr was nice, but I was struggling a bit cause I don’t know car set ups and I spent probably 1 hour in my life on that.
I like assetto corsa on sim set up and also project cars 2.
Wrc from 1 to 4 were awesome to me (but arcade). After those I didn’t like car feeling/handling of the following titles.
I decided to buy Wrc generation and it looks quite good to me now. Set ups are bad in comparison with dirt, but I just need to understand those numbers.

Since wrc 10 the graphics got a lot better, which is good, but it still feels like an arcade game. The sounds are horrible, and I, for some reason can't get the force ffedback to work properly on my g29. I'm still looking forward to see what kind of game codemasters will drop(since they have the WRC license now, not Kylotonn, the creator of this game).

I cringed so hard at the end when the spectators were cheering before and even after the car left :D They do the same 1 second scripted movement.
Those flying leaves animations suck as well. The bokeh effect during the replays are a joke too. The devs never ever used a DSLR or camera before to see how the aperture works in real life? Small things but it makes the difference.
The whole game looks outdated.
Looks like a 2010 game
Slow down to 0.25 -> Play from 1:08 onward. Observe how car goes over potholes at 1:09....
Another example 0:30 onward to 0:34....Car behaves like a HotWheels with no suspension going over flat plastic joints in a looptyloops track
I really want to get this game and finally switch from Dirt Rally 2.0 but it doesn't look like this is going to be it.

I started rallying with DR2.0 but after playing WRC, dr2.0 feels so dull and boring
wrc is just satisfying and the physics are not that bad, check it out by yourself give it a try!
That's exactly what i was thinking, looks very poor in terms of physics, sounds are horrible and graphics wise doesn't seem to be like a final version of the game.
Physics seem to be off quite a bit. At 2:57 the car slides in the chicane but there's no tyre noise or thread marks. It's like going on ice. Shame cuz the game looks nice graphics wise and the stages look interesting.
I bought it yesterday and ffb feels so weird. I am coming from dirt rally 2.0 and it feel too soft in some parts and too hard in some parts. Also the sound is terrible and cars and stages have way less details. Played about 3hours and I hate it.
