WE KNEW THAT FOR THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RELEASE WE WANTED TO DO SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A TOUR. IT'S GOING TO BE A BIG YEAR FOR ALL OF US AND YOU TOGETHER. It's funny, this song is kind of the story of my life, it's just that in the past few years I've started to realize just how much it is, I've only know about this song for like a year now, but it's probably my favorite from this album, these past 2 months I've had my heart ripped out of my chest and shot with a ICBM, my whole world along with my hopes and dreams kind of just fell apart, I never thought it'd end like it did, and I just wish there was anything i could have done to prevent it, but it's done now, and I'm just hopeing that soon she'll decided that she's ready to try again, because I honestly don't know how much longer I can go on living like this before only a shell of me remains.............. Wish me luck.......

it's really interesting how he sings those high notes here. In the original version he was screaming his lungs out and it was very emotional, here they made much more laid back and softer rendition. Which is cool, it suits the acoustic arrangements.
He's learned. Screaming high notes is not too great for the voice, he put it into more of his head voice, but not fully. Which is better for the voice, but he still sang it in a strong fashion. Hope you understood that haha singing terms and shtuff.

yeah, I'm kinda interested in singing stuff, so I pretty much understand :)
his vocal range has definitely changed and lowered throughout the years, or at least he's not comfortable in singing the high notes from the older songs..that's probably why they lowered Only One a whole step down on this record.

It's the surgery he had. When he was diagnosed with nodules, his singing was pretty much done. After the surgery and recovery, his voice became what you hear now.
