Great video, thanks for sharing. One thing that tripped me up was deck 2 - getting the frame back on. After watching this video many times I noticed that you move an arm which is to the left. You move it left then the frame slides back on. Good video. Unfortunately the 3 wires going to the head broke away from the solder. I am to re-solder and I think the sequence is yellow red white, moving from the back to the front. Does this sound correct? Thanks
Thank for your patient, I have a RS TR 170 with the same problem, where I can obtain information about the proper gear number or ID , ? any information helps, thanks a lot.
Great video. Would this be the same for a technics rs ch550 please? I have gear and belts problem. I have a spare broken cassette for parts. No ch 550/950/515 videos on YT. Thanks again
What type of screwdriver do you need to remove the recording head, I have all sorts but none fit. Is that a flat head one you use? My eyes not as good as they used to be
Will be doing several repairs for some friends in the near future, hopefully the video repairs will be as least good or better, as they have some old units that have cogs gone and the tape is winding out or not playing
Hi, just use a small phillips head screwdriver precison screwdriver set the black handle is the small flat heat, ive got some more to do soon when i have a chance and some spare time, i will upload the repairs.
Нормально конечно все разбирать и ремонтировать одной плоской, самой дешевой, китайской отверткой, вместо профессионального набора для обслуживания такой техники. Супер, так и дальше делай! 5+
The originals are not available anymore. You can buy the 3D printed ones. Not sure how good they are or how reliable they are, but that the only option there is right now. Here is the link www.ebay.com/itm/Technics-Panasonic-RDG5772ZC-Gear-/254323664112
I bought these from Poland www.ebay.com/itm/2-GEARS-PANASONIC-TECHNICS-RDG5772ZC-list-of-models-in-the-description/392978026044?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649. I'm in Australia and they arrived in 1 week. Installed today and my Technics RS-X120 is now working prefectly.
I have the same deck, I was able the replace the gear on deck 1, but on deck 2 the screw on the tapehead won't budge, I damage the screw and now I cant take out the tapehead on deck 2. I hope you guys won't make the same mistake I did.
Make shur to use your best fitting screwdriver when unscrewing stuck screws. I almost did the same thing. Now you have to drill away the screw, and that is difficult.
This happened to me. Job was almost over. Cut a piece of rubber glove and wrapped around screwdriver head. Managed to get screw out. Used replacement screw from my 'box of bits' from my Tamiya Monster Beetle RC car.
Can you please tell me what are the effect of these broken gears ? I have a Technics RS TR212 with some issues but how to know that cames from these gears? 🤔
For me it was forward take up real not working. So I have an RS-X120, deck 1 which is forward only would rewind and fast forward but would only play for like 1 second. Deck 2 same thing but worked fine in reverse mode. i ordered these gears from www.ebay.com/itm/2-GEARS-PANASONIC-TECHNICS-RDG5772ZC-list-of-models-in-the-description/392978026044?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 and installed today. Both decks now working perfectly. Cheers from Australia!
@@kappino Good luck mate. Also make sure you take careful note of that spring as shown in the video and put it back as it was. I screwed up the first time and the plastic thing was on the wrong side. You'll see what i mean.
@@makeshift202 hi, and greeting from Canada to the land down under , I have a st tr155 technics that is doing the very same thing you’re talking about but up on inspecting the gear, it was not damaged or broken but I noticed it was made of a soft type of plastic so I guess the question is do you think if I change that exact gear it will fix that problem ? Thanks mate!
