Nice sessions Matt .
I fined night more productive .bloody handy having your bait dug fresh while your fishing .Result
👍👍🐟🐟
Thanks 👍
Nice little catches Matt, nice dancing at the end LOL.👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Oh no someone watched till the end 🤪🤪🤪thanks though Glen !
When i was a kid we ate a LOT of conger…..haven’t seen it in fishmongers for many years.
interesting, it tastes nice smoked to me
Nice to see back scratching around for fish. Great video.👍
Not a technique I thoroughly enjoy , did you watch the plaice video last week, similar tactics. Good to see you commenting , tight lines
Nice update Matt! Those little Conger look cute when they are that size - at least you know there is no chance of losing a finger! Liked the little dance at the end too! Stay safe & Well. 👍👍
Yes that’s true I want a bigger one now !
Fishing Hastings myself I catch these eels a lot but don't get them over 3 feet. Had a Thornback last month at the Old Stamco area. Spider crabs have been in crazy amounts this summer.
Yea nice one, still quite rare those thornback on this patch so a notible catch Good stuff
When the first thing I see you catch is a piece of trash off the beach to take home. Thats a sign of a good fisherman.
Could spend all day doing that ! There’s lots of us here that take a bin bag with us and there’s a new initiative for line recycling with plenty of boxes at tackle shops now
Great stuff thanks, going to look at getting one of those knifes :)
I fished Teignmouth on Tuesday only had a rather large Gar fish 😀
Victorinox "Swibo" Fish Filleting Knife Flexible with Narrow Handle with 20 cm Blade, Stainless Steel, Yellow, 30 x 5 x 5
@@SaltwaterAngler legend Sir thank you!
Well done on the gar though, this is the first year I have not had one in the lures
Lovley video as usual spot on
Lot's of Ray and small Congers in Brighton nice weraity of see bass
Yep it’s changing , thank you for watching Kristin. Used to have to travel 100 miles for Ray !
Keep the beach content coming, great stuff
Thanks Aidan I will do as we come in to Autumn and winter
Nice dance moves there Matt, I'm off to Hornsea on the east Yorkshire coast for 4 days in two weeks time, Covid permitting!
That could be a good trip for you malc
Love the lure fishing, but I have a soft spot for beach fishing. Nice little vid thankyou, enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching , yep my match fishing needs some work ! but ill be doing more of this through winter as the lure fishing tails off
Very informative and well explained ,thank you
Thanks for watching
You Fished In my hometown :) Usually I can't catch Anything except Crab From the beach, People have caught on the pier, Try there next your down
Hi James there has definitely been lots of spider crabs this year!
Nicely put together, lovely watch 👍
Much appreciated
The eyes are much larger on Conger eels when compared with Freshwater eels.
Oh yes a good giveaway thanks !
Another good watch matt as being new to the sea fushing world, trying to concentrate on the lure fishing side of things anychance on a video on lure sizes and weights etc? Keep up the good work!!!!
Lots on the channel for lures- we have the beginners guide, 6 magic lures and top 10 bass lures too.
Those congers have been all round the south coast for the last 3 years, there must have been an unbelievable spawning season, proper pain in the a**e taking any bait and wrecking traces !!!. Better luck next time.
Yes somethings changed, there are bigger ones here too though. I’m hoping the influx of different species aren’t because there are enough food for them further out at sea .
A good watch. Keep them coming. I must get out. I'm only 10min walk from Preston beach Weymouth. I've been side tracked with my latest purchase, a 6mtr boat. A bit of comfort for the wife and room for 2 or 3 to fish. Been out a couple of times.
I must keep down the beach, its always a bit of fun down here at this time of year. Tight lines and stay safe.
Great place to have a boat though Andy hope you get out fish on boat and beach ! It’s a great time of the year autumn in-between the storms
Caught a pb undulate this last week in Southsea, something around 14lb
Beauty !
brilliant
😂😂😂
Hi Matt...
Thanks for another informative video and feed back on the comments..... nice to see a few rays coming off the.beach!
Did you find the link for the knife?

Saltwater Angler Thanks Matt ...
I think I’ve one already in the collection of knives ... one to look out for is the Tronix bait knife.. think they were RAPALA to start off with some where ..
Very cheap and have her own sheath...
Great video! I like the "wet-foot shimmy" at the end, I've done it many times!!
Normally I just get wet !
Matt. What chargeable headlamp would you recommend please?
For me there’s no need to go with remix- incredible value found on Amazon for adjustable led head torches . My
Non branded one has lasted years. How much light do we need ? Too much scares the bass 😂 I tend to bring three
Lights - head torch , builders
Light for tackle
Box and a camera light for the camera
Stand or tripod
Thanks for the info
from Indonesia always see your video
Ah good good
Nice one Matt. Are those conger any good for eating?👍👌
They are very nice smoked but obviously not at this size. The local boatman does a great smoked conger. These straps are
Almost like a different species
I dream that one day companies will develop biodegradeable fishing line, to replace the mono that all off use lose every time we fish a beach or rock mark.
Shame that eels die when they’re deep hooked 90% of the time according to studies. I’ve had great results with the globe-end deep hook disgorger where the tip of the hook, clicks into a void and allows you to get the hooks out even when they’re in the stomach and save the fishes life.
Yes over sized hooks , barbless also effective at times. I did research biodegradable line there was a company that did it but that was years ago. Personally I think we should all take home more than we loose. A simple net gain in recovering plastics if you loose two rigs and a lure you can do your bit by finding even more rubbish. Thanks for your comments I think there’s a lot of agreement in what your saying
@@SaltwaterAngler agreed, that’s the best exact philosophy of our litter group, seeitpickitbinit (brandsthatcreatelitter on Instagram), we say ‘leave it better than you found it’. Every time I fish, I also litter pick, sometimes in a small boat, when I can clear line and floats from trees and pick up floating and submerged plastic. If I do lose tackle, I know I’ve removed more than I have left. Thanks for the great vid, you are one of the really good anglers who are showing leadership in the sport💪😛🤣❤️🐟🐟🐟
Great little video and I learnt something as a newbie sea angler. Can u send me.the link the the filleting knife you recommended?.victornix do a bunch of different knives. Many thanks.
ahh yes it should be in the comments for you
Never ever caught much in the day there, night time definitely better. Had big congers the other night at brean
Good one I’m looking forward to finding a bigger one at night
Tight lines
Think the lockdown has helped, I think alot more fish managed to get up the channel as trawlers where in port.
What do you think.
Seen footage from a local fisherman of big shoals of tuna off the south hams coast chasing mackerel out of the water
Nice footage as usual , time to dust off the bottom rods😀👍
Yes there’s the lock down but maybe also the shifting of seasons helping things (global warming) the tuna fishing is a lot more prominent than people think and I know it’s being kept quiet in some areas. I’d love a tuna on the lure rod !!! Yes it’s autumn fishing now for sure
Just a shame all tune in uk waters are catch and release, its becoming a more common sport fish down in the southwest
Where exactly did you fish in this episode? I want to try myself. Thanks
thanks ramon Keeping this mark a bit more quiet but there are plenty of mark giveaways on the channel
What was the make of knife you said you liked in the video? Thanks
I’ll put the link on but it’s a victonox
Filleting knife but doubles as a bait knife
On the 4oz bass rod with your 20 1b mono mainline do you use shock leader or don’t you need it as I never used it and told I have to use it plz also what size reel is the biggest I can use. With 20 1b mono line for bass and cod beach fishing please
Generally you should use a shock leader it serves the purpose of stopping snap offs from casting. It also helps with abrasion on rocks. However I do t use it when I am using really light weight under 3oz and lobbing a bait close in. Personally I’d consider 50lb plus braid straight through.with 20lb mono you can use big capacity fixed spool o multipliers . Personally when fishing heavy I prefer a multiplier.
Saltwater Angler thanks for takeing the time to reply
@@SaltwaterAngler Matt, please recommend the best knot for 20Lb mono to 60Lb Shockleader? I've just had to put a new leader on Vertix reel for my Vertix rod, used a double Uni knot, and it's tight going through the bale arm roller even though it looks compact.
Yes try the one on this channel called leader knot. Using a simple overhand knot on the thicker leader. We tested it on mono but this would work well for braid too
@@SaltwaterAngler Thanks Matt - wiil do.
I really enjoy you videos Matt.
Was going go to Pittenweem Fife today but blowing a hooley and pouring rain.
Gutted.
Nevertheless l will settle for watching vids instead.

Hi Chris , better weather ahead I’m sure , let us know how it goes when things are fishable

Its coming up to my favourite time of year Matt , winter. Love it .
Hopefully get a few more winter cod this season.
Before this im gonna get a new IMAX suit. Its get a bit chilled on the East Coast of Scotland.
Hi, what model of Penn reel is that? (black and gold one? ) Thanks
It’s a penn surfblaster 8000 there’s a review on the channel
@@SaltwaterAngler Thanks bud, I've been looking for a big pit fixed spool and I reckon that's the one for me. I'll check out your vid too

Two tones of wotah.
You got it puker geezer
Had a load of rattles that didn't come to anything all through a session last week in the Bristol Channel. Assumed something too small to get size 4 hooks in mouth properly and, lo and behold, I finally wound in a 2" whiting - the smallest fish I've ever caught in the sea! Went back the next day and took a stinger-like rig with a plan to leave source of the rattles out there and wait for a big Bass to scoff the lot. First part of the plan worked when I wound in to find a tiddler on the stinger hook. Another first - smallest ever Bass! Sadly, part 2 of the plan didn't happen and no bigger predator came along.
Ha I liked reading that I often try a small size 4 tied tight to a 5/0 hook in these situations so the live bait stays out there and a bass looks the lot. It’s only worked once for me but got a 4lb bass and never knew what the small fish was
Where's this mark on the south coast please mate
Hastings st Leonard’s

Might give it a bash in a couple of weeks time thanks
Where’s the fish? Bad
4:24 , 5:24 if it’s non stop fish to look at not the best video this time 😂😂
