Here's a Country Piano exercise that moves into each of the I - IV -V chords with passing harmonic movement. Using the traditional chord progressions we then develop embellishments that enrich the harmony and spice up the rhythm. Grace notes & Ghost notes are covered in a stepwise manner using a traditional Waltz (3/4) meter.
I’ve composed quite a few Riffs (short pieces of music) in the Country Genre. Do Check them out and let me know what you think: riffs.jasonzacmusic.com/?filt...

It reminds me of The Eagles, take it to the limit 😊
Ah! Love that song 🎧 Used to play it so much in school and college
This is so good. I learned the piano as a boy. My teachers gave me some tunes and I learned them. But I could not use this to make my own music or play music by ear. It is like the old story about giving a man a fish. Your lessons teach me how to fish.
Thank you so much David. Glad it helped you a lot😄😄
You’re a good teacher, Jason. You take it one step at a time.
Glad you found the lesson useful Miles 🙏🏼
Un grand merci … Mr. jacques
Thanks for the support Jacques 🙏🏼
Great lesson! Country piano has so many potential applications in many genres of music. You can hear elements of country piano in the music of Elton John, Nora Jones, and even Steely Dan.
Totally! Makes complete sense. Here's another Country lesson which focuses on accompaniment: ruclips.net/video/Vg2mvAcIyBg/видео.html
Reminds me a lot of “Lean on Me” Great lesson! Thank you Jason
That's a good tune for reference, thanks so much! 😄
I also heard "take it to the limit" Eagles
You just reminded me of my school days playing in the church services !! Never knew why it sounded so good in Bb especially whenever I hit the F and came back to Bb with the grace note!!! Thank you so much Sir !!! ❤
Thanks a ton Nilaksha. Glad to hear that😄😄
Wonderful lesson many many thanks
You are most welcome Duke!
I like the way you take time to bring out your teaching always achieve something from it.
I appreciate that Lawrence 🙏🏼
I learn so much from your videos, thanks for sharing this!

Very nice Riffs.enjoyed.thanks
Thanks so much for listening John!
Great lesson there. This is very popular in African gospel, especially in Ghana 🇬🇭. Thank u 🙏
Awesome insights Midasty! Yes. I can imagine this technique in a few spirituals!
Would you consider a lesson on “finding” different intros for “can’t help falling in love with you”. Or a small tutorial on how to tackle intros. Thank you for considering.
Great suggestion Elisabeth. Will plan. But most intros are very specific to the song! So might have to be on a song by song basis. Have you seen our greatest Piano intros of all time playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLrNNL05e9FT-_VES5xPMZnrnBtv_NluWO
Thank you
You're most welcome

You're most welcome! Thanks so much for your support 🙏🏽
Excellent lesson Jason. Very systematic, simple and precise instructions. You are very inspiring buddy. Thanks a lot. 🙏😊👍
My pleasure Jayagopi 😊
Another gem of a kesson. Thanks sir.
Thanks a ton. Glad to hear that 😄
thanks for a very informative video. your explanation are clear and simple. i watch a lot of technical videos and as a native American English speaker, i often find the indian accent annoying and just move on. while your accent is obvious, it is very understandable and not at all annoying. i work with many people with various accents and it is always apparent who cares about being understood
Awesome, thank you so much 😊
Thank you. This was just what I needed.
Glad it was helpful!🙏🏼
Great lesson, Jason! I could manage to follow you for the most part with hick ups in my tempo. You make it look like easy😊
I'm really glad you found this lesson easy for you, Dr. Christy! Do stay tuned for more just like this one😄

Great tutorial thank you!
I’m curious about what software/ app you’re using to display chords and notes?
Chordie by Matkat music John!
Good day sir,
I wanted to ask you for a tip, I cannot find on the internet. I was practicing this song I will survive, I'm sure you know it. And in the beginning, there's this fast arpeggio of chord E9b. So it's basically F° with E bass. But it's difficult for me to run up the keyboard with that diminished chord. Could you give us some tips on how to practice that difficult kind of arpeggios? Because I've seen many videos on triads and honestly they are much easier. I've been practicing diminished arpeggios for 2 weeks but I'm still slow, when I increase tempo I'm inaccurate and the worst problem is the when I play faster my thumb is getting louder then other fingers... Thank you as always and God bless you for your help ❤
Sure Matus. I will try and put this in a tutorial sometime!
Sir🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for your support Praneeth 😄😄
