Bandai/Figuarts was frankly the only company not tackling the Into the Spider-Verse line in the past couple of years, so you can imagine my intrigue when they decided to break the streak with Across the Spider-Verse and bring us updated models of Miles and Gwen. How do they compare to the previously reviewed Marvel Legends counterparts??

S.H is honestly more movie accurate, the suits look like they have a really fun texture to them, and miles hair is movie accurate aswell, due to his poofy hair. Although i like ballet shoe gwen more than sneaker gwen, they were the only ones that actually pulled it off that I liked. Definitely will buy the gwen one, miles I can’t find sadly :c
When you hear the squeak, stop cranking on it and pop off the torso. I’ve been testing which method works the best and so far adding some graphite/pencil shaving is the best to smooth the ball joint out (followed by silicone oil, and liquid soap) This guy is double ball peg for the upper torso and single ball peg at the waist. The waist you can also trim a lot of the torso part off to increase articulation.

You could also put the Gwen head with the Hooded one by removing the back part of the hair so you could fit it inside the hood.
S.h Figuarts is a lot more accurate but more expensive but more worth it, I want it for christmas

The squeaking is due to the oil on the joints being extreamly light out of the factory all you need to do is pop off the joint and add alittle oil or dish soap (not to much it’ll become a floppy mess alittle goes along way with this) and it’ll be all good also you want to use a shock oil or plastic safe lube

Thanks for helping me make my decision . I really love your more in depth videos so just wanted to thank you again for them. I'm def going w/ The s.h. myself but I thought it would def be better than the M.l. . Those joint connectors are EVIL on the figma's and figure arts sometimes though.
I'm going through this same thing w/ Chainsaw Man . I think it's a Figma and sh fig. sometimes the price point is a turn off but there almost always quality and great paint apps and sculpt.
I cannot wait to see if you do a video on some of the upcoming Ml waves.

One thing I'd like to note is that Bandai Namco and Hasbro are both in contention for the biggest toy company in the world, yet the quality on these two is so wildly different. It doesn't cost more to make accurate movie designs, just more effort. And the SHF articulation is leagues beyond that of Marvel Legends, all imports beat Marvel Legends when it comes to articulation engineering. But it's not like ballpeg diaphragm and waists, ball hinge wrists and ankles are region locked to Japanese figure manufacturers, so why doesn't Hasbro use them. Even McFarlane DC is using that articulation on their figures, and they're even cheaper than Marvel Legends.
If Hasbro made better Marvel Legends figures with modern articulation, then SHF, Mafex, and other companies wouldn't mop the floor with them all the time. The SHF figures for ATSV are the best option for these characters because Hasbro sucks at making good figures. If Hasbro made phenomenal figures that could compete with SHF, then Bandai would have to step up their game even more, or lower their price in order to compete with ML.
Yet those figures are so flimsy and the quality is easy to tell. It’s your money and you don’t mind dropping $90 for a crappy plastic quality that breaks easily go for it. I would not do that to others though and recommend something that fragile. Just because it looks slightly better
Articulation is leagues beyond ML?? I will say it's one step ahead but nowhere near leagues beyond. You just trying to justify the overrated prices SHF,Mafex have. Quality wise I feel I have to be very careful when handling SHF, not with ML drop them, heat them when some come with stiff articulation still good to go. Good luck doing that with SHF and Mafex.
id be lying if i said i didnt wish figuarts bulked up the limbs just a little lol. i know it would be less accurate but DAMN the fear of breaking these things is real.

I've barely gotten into the action figure collection after watching ASV. I was able to get almost all the ASV wave and got two miles morales for the hell of it
I got the Tobey figure and Deadpool, and they both feel way too easily broken. The time limit is right
Add oil or dish soap to the point and it’ll fix them
I pray we get a Spider-Punk figure from SHFiguarts, the Marvel Legends is nigh impossible to order online and completely hopeless hunting for in stores (probably wasn’t wise for Hasbro to try and market anti-Capitalism 🤣).

marvel legends seems to consistently get things wrong, not only with these figures, but ones like the TASM2 figure from the NWH 3 pack where he’s strangely muscular, then Toms figures head sculpt is very off, for being a popular brand that probably makes a lot, they could at least get a few things right and not reuse parts that don’t work

@@syntrix7360 i know but some decisions don’t make much sense, there’s a tom figure with a more accurate head that they made before but ended up not using for the nwh pack. for the miles in this video it wouldn’t have been that difficult for them to get the new spider logo for him, especially when it’s just a machine spraying on the logo using the file they put into it
Put some shock oil on the joint, I did it with my reimi Spider-Man and now he moves smoothly!! I wouldn’t move him around till you do it because I’ve seen so many people snap their figure!!
im new to the action figure world like this im getting the marvel legends for christmas bc im new idk if i wanna pursue action figures as an hobby fully im doing it because it looks fun to have fun with not gonna go insane having 100 bucks figure getting dust on haha but i hope marvel legends do good because it seems like the action figure community is nice people
Awesome look at both figs! I love the colors on the SHf but the proportions bother me too much to enjoy it. They made the arms way too long and the legs short in comparison. Kinda only want that unmasked head, but not for the price haha.
Those are the screen accurate proportions, sorry to break it to you💀
My advice for SHF joints is to use a type of oil. I use a silicone gun oil for Airsoft since it is what I have on hand and it helps to lube and loosen the joints so they don't wear out
I like the marvel Legends more just if they used the new spider logo and everything else stays the same

Well the front and back spider logo on the marvel legends is because if i remember right they use promotional art to make there figures which might be why there's all the in accuracies of the design of the suit

I bought them from BBTS, I also managed to snag a Spider-Man 2099 from them.
Got the SH Miles and Gwen for about $120 last month, they're pre-owned but seems like everything's good as new. Contemplating on the upcoming SH Miguel/SM2099 fig though...but I'll wait for your video!

Yeah the waist was a bummer, the right leg nesrly broke in half so i just stopped moving it all together because i didnt wanna break it and decided to get the marvel legends since they are stronger

I finished watching the video and immediately went on AliExpress, just to see how much the Miles figure cost, and then I just bought it, yeah, so thanks for the video, I guess, I don’t know how soon I would have decided to buy it if it weren’t for the video
I really want the sh figures but the only problem is they are quite expensive which does make sense considering the quality compared to Hasbro but it is disappointing
Marvel Legends is making me think Part 2 will use that Spider-symbol and color design as an upgraded suit; maybe gets an upgrade from the other universe's Uncle Aaron. Colors look more Prowler, and back symbol looks more like 2099's to maybe drive home this is his Anti-2099 suit.
Possibly, due to design and production lead times, Hasbro had to go with a concept for the final suit, however during that time, design changed or what was planned for one film became two, and their design is actually the Part 2 final suit.
Why compare figures that cost around 100 to 20 dollar figures?

The only reason marvel legends might be better to an extent is that unlike S.H.F iguraurts it dosent cost that much so your not paying an intire leg and arm just to get them especially for a kid like me

I feel like both of these are ridiculously overpriced, the ML versions should be $10-$15, and the SHF should be closer to $40-$50.
For me, the biggest difference is that the ML version feels like a kid's toy priced as a collectible. The SHF IS an adult collector's item. I managed to find the ML version of Miles, Gwen, and 2099 for $18 each. I like them, but I won't lie to myself and say they're good figures.

For thighs join, just used soap and then moved it slowly until soap are move around joint
For the shf gwen, just remove the neck peg when trying to remove the hood, the head will fall right out of it

I don’t like Hasbro, but I will pick them. I’ll pick SH Figurart for just the special figures I really like or they’ve done an exceptional job. Otherwise, not worth paying 4 times more if they are similar.
I saw somebody put oil in Gwens leg but I wouldn’t do that if I were you because it makes gwens leg wonky and to shaky but with the miles I mean you can put oil into it but have you been playing with it because if you have that that shouldn’t be happening but if you did it maybe it’s getting rusted
Plastic doesn’t rust. Oil can be wiped off if you apply too much. Plastic can expand, etc so oil is the best bet to make them move properly again.
I’m gonna say for the pricing the legends wins. 90 or 25. For 90 that figure should be able to clean up my place. Lol

Play in a decently big area so if pieces fall you can find it don’t let siblings or pets around, and sometimes the joints get stiff but don’t be so scared to break it just use strength to get it in position and you will hear a crock but still be cautious and know your limits and be extremely careful with the webs or you can just buy white string

sculpt is phenomenal and face sculpt on that mike’s head is damn near perfect but that’s about where my praise starts and ends, it has some very blatant issues that i don’t think get talked about when ppl hype it up
