I lived in Detroit in the 1970s and the city lays down salt in winter. It was an ongoing complaint what the salt did to cars especially taxis. Except this one guy. He had an old Checker cab which looked brand new altho it was not. One day, a local news channel did a story on him. He said he had fabbed up some pipes which run across his driveway which he had drilled spray holes in & plumbed in a container for soap and every evening when he went home he turned on this undercarriage wash & drove his cab over it, back & forth a couple of times then he parked in his heated garage. !
That light pressure wand water sprayer or even that rolling sprayer is not going to thoroughly clean the salt, sand and grime left by NE winter snow storms. Your best cleaning rinse is with just a quality squeeze handle steady stream hose nozzle with sufficient water pressure. This is best to get get into the wheel wells and inner fenders rims where most of you build up of sand/salt debris accumulates. Then just point the nozzle under the car, and with the varying spray patterns from the squeeze nozzle, it will do a much better job.
My motorhome has an odd problem. Under the hood, only on the frontal area behind the grille all the paint is peeling off & the metal under is rusting. Nowhere else, just the front. I live in California we are not used to this kind of problem. I have not driven in the rain any excessive amount. THEN, it hit me. I live along the Pacific ocean. We do drive up & down the coast highway a lot. I'll be that we are driving thru salt air as we go and it is collecting on the frontal area & the salt is concentrating leading to the corrosion. Step 1- lets wash it off with a soap & water cannon. Step2-apply some rust inhibitor Step3-in the future as soon as we get home wash the frontal area. !
@@StonerCarCare right. I asked because I imagine some mud and dirt specific shampoos also clean salt pretty well but they dont mention salt cleaning on the label of some of these offroad dirtbike shampoos so i am not 100% sure
The best thing to do is to figure out what people charge in your surrounding area so you can compete with the average price. There is also Facebook groups called “beginner detailer” where detailers starting a business can talk amongst themselves and give suggestions on what they usually charge!
Hi, live in Ohio and we get good amount snow and roads are salted heavily. What undercarriage equipment did you use in the video? It appears suitable for low profile car as well. Please let us know
There's is literally so many solutions. If you're a fat sorry lazy nihilist then yeah sure you're probably right. Preventative maintenance is what keeps things running rather than letting things seize and corrod away faster. The longer you leave a rust spot the more it'll expand and dig in.

Best just let the wand spray Don't press the Trigger it's to much pressure on under car parts
