Dave, yet another great video in the mountains. The weather an integral part in the outdoors, cloudy, mist / fog, rain snow etc. Beautiful scenery!!! All the Best Dave from Philip.
Surprised you had trouble. Had the Tarra which pitches in a similar manner, can't see how a pole could get snapped. (1) peg out ground sheet. (2) Put poles ino the short sleeves (3) Attach guylines to poles and peg out guylines loosely (4) go round tent clipping on flysheet (5) adjust guylines. Hilleberg show a similar tent, the soulo being pitched in 60mph winds with no problem.
Yeah, with hindsight I agree with what you’re saying. I’d never pitch the tent before in such winds. They were coming and going with strong gusts. One gust really bowed one of the poles before I could get the clips on. Made it quite difficult. Once pitched and tensioned it was absolutely fine.
Always a great watch Dave, lovely couple, locations you go to are awesome, I’ve got the Allack 2 and they can withstand anything brilliant tent. Look forward to your next adventures, thank you for sharing👍😊
Great vid as usual :) Glad to see you brought the right tools for the job Dave. It's nice to go lighter but when the weather gets challenging you need the reassurance that you get from Hillebergs and that extra 1 kg is worth its weight in gold if you try to avoid it. Nice to see a place in the UK that isn't drenched too.....I was out on Kinder last night and i seen your mate trying out his new Notch Li but he wasn't there when i got up and 6 so i hope he didn't get washed back over the moors because it hammered it down and the streams were the heaviest i have seen them in a long time. I knew it was due but sometimes you just have to get out and deal with it instead of waiting for a decent weather forecast .
@@TheSoloSummiteer You have definitely inspired me to Head up to Scotland but i want to wait for the colder months, i know the days are shorter but the flying devils dont like the cold as much as i dont like being eaten alive :)
I think that castle had a so-called elavated entrance at first floor height. They were easier to defend this way, so it seems. Don't asķ me, how people got in. Baskets, rope ladders or Rapunzel's hair, maybe.
Nice midweek surprise for us Dave. You both are finding some great places to camp and explore lately. You made sensible, practical decisions & took all the tough conditions that were thrown at you in your stride. Hope the weather picks up for us all soon...it's still supposed to be Summer😂

If the tent had failed there is a cave near the falls 😊

Great video mate that tent is so stable in wind ❤
Yeah. Love the Allak. Got a battering in the Highlands last week when a peg blow out, but no worries once re secured 👍
oh i missed this one, tent looked rock solid, i wonder if the cap hood thing helps balance out the pressure to shed the wind.
Yeah, know what you mean. It’s a great tent 😎👍

Great to hear from you Olan. I’ve been in Scotland the past two weeks. Drove over 1000 miles trying to dodge the rain. Had some success, too 😁. ATB 👍

At least that wind kept the midgies away!!!!
It certainly did 🤣
Not my idea of fun Dave, either the 300-mile drive or camping in the world’s largest wind tunnel 😂
🤣👍
The Duo Summiters? Top film Dave as per usual ❤
Big thanks Malcolm 👍😎
搭档不错🍻🌼😎
A cracking camp spot. No dip by the waterfall?
Cheers. We did, but didn’t film it 😁
