Is this material cat safe or can they easily poke a hole in it the raft?

Walking on it is fine. Using it as a scratching post is not fine.

Why didn’t you attach the strips to the black skirt before you attached it to the boat it seems like you would be able to get a good weld that way? Just asking if their was a reason yo do it that way

The main reason is that the iron is the same width as the strips, so it’s difficult to iron only half of a strip.

It can be done (Alpacka uses it), but people complain that it’s not waterproof so it’s not something I’m pursuing.
