I know that one time you visited Smokey Nagata at the workshop, but I wish if you can interview him in person about how is he and what is he up to in the future.

I think he stated in the video that Smokey didn't like (or wanted to) be on camera.. that's why Albo avoided filming them conversing the entire time he was at the shop.

I actually thought Japonic got the car and cruising Japan with it lol. Darn what a bummer. I have a strong sense in believing the previous owner did not want the car to be sold to someone that was not Japanese and for the car to stay in Japan. Not to be shipped out. It is what it is unfortunately.
I’m a bit disappointed with the way Smokey handled the situation. Moreover he supposedly ghosted Japonic and Masa, that does not sits right w me.
Apparently Smokey is known for behaving like that. Seems pretty gutless he couldn’t tell japonic straight up what happened. Japonic is a stand up guy and didn’t once stuff smokey around. I’ve actually lost a lot of respect for Nagata after this stunt.

He didn't do it to be a dick, Japanese give what they get. It seems like Japonic and Masa just wanted to buy something from that garage and it might of rubbed Smokey the wrong way. It's a garage after all and not a dealership. If he wanted a R35 GTR from Top Secret then at the very least, get one built. He isn't even a customer yet he wants a super high end demo car. I think any shop any where would have a problem with that. Also looks like this car or a version of it was sold to a buyer in Australia, a huge collector of Nissans so it went to the right buyer. Not someone trying to throw money at a legend........
@@coreytrevor3910 don't know if you watched original video where first meeting and agreement was discussed, but Japonic was not the first one to offer buying this car. Nagata himself initiated the discussion and asked if they wanna buy it. After thinking couple of minutes Japonic gave positive response about buying. That is what happened. Nothing like he wanted to throw some money on this garage. This video is on Albo's and Japonic's (if you know turkish), so you can see it yourself.
In my opinion Smokey Nagata did it wrong with ghosting Japonic. He could have at least come and say what happened, and maybe ask for apologise. But that didn't happened. End of the story.

Its not hard to understand they wanted to keep the car within a circle of friends. Alot of luxury businesses operate like that. But I think Smokey made a mistake taunting people like that on camera assuming some unknown gaijin can't afford it. If I were that person with the arrangement for first option to rebuy, I wont be happy about it either.
When you’re too attached on to something isn’t hard to understand who you trust to entrust someone prize possessions
I know the whole chain of events also from Japonic’s side because I follow him closely.
The issue which Japonic specifically didnt like is that Smokey ghosted them, Japonic,Albo and others. He didnt say that he doesnt want to sell car (I am not even saying that Smokey did not give them some logical reason for not selling the car)
He just stopped answering messages and calls.
That was very rude and not professional.
Japonic showed Smokey the bank account and proved he had the numbers.... I don't understand why it didn't work out that was shady business in my opinion
Thank god Japonic didn't buy this car, because he bought Midnight Purple 2 instead of this one. Imo mp2 is way more precious than this r35.
No 300k negotiation gets cancelled for language barrier. Nagata simply thought a "gaijin" would not be able to afford this. He tried to look down on Japonic and then he couldn't stand behind his word. I thought Japanese don't make promises easily but when they do they keep it. What Nagata did is exactly the opposite. He didn't have the balls to respond Japonic and say "hey man sorry I changed my mind and won't be selling the car. He simply played dead kept ignoring Japonic. This actually what made him mad and walk away and he is 100% right. No one deserves this kind of disrespect. Nagata was a legend; until we got to know his real personality.
You really did watch to much F&F. You didn't know him in rl so you shouldnt talk that bad about him. It takes a long time to build trust with the most and you shouldn't hang everything on one big nail. Of course he maybe said yes. If he changes his mind, let him do it. It is a rare and special car, which of course is not easy to part with. Just because of that you talk bad about him now. Ppl like you are the reason why hate begins.

Never answering to any call or e-mail and keep making one side waiting with the situation unclear is what is unacceptable.Would you accept this attitude? And I think I know a thing or two than F&F after working with the Japanese for quite a long time. They are mostly fabulous people. Nagata isn’t.
@rondar2 did Albo said such bad words about him like you? Working with japanese people does not instantly mean handling with a legendary GTR. Thats the problem with people from western countrys. Youre just a random Person in the internet like me sitting on a mobile phone but youre writing such bad words about him. The most japanese grown up to respecful and friendly ppl and is not overreacting in certain situations. You should keep this in mind.
@@therealheroxx it’s kinda true what he said through. I’ve heard this from a few people that got treated coldly by him. I remember reading some conversation from those people like “Oh did you still get treated coldly by him”, “He treated foreigners differently” kinda like that. It’s not just assuming when there’s ppl that rlly experienced this themselves & pointed it out. Ofc albo wont saying bad words on him cuz the deal is on japonic, albo prolly just get some updates from him. Japonic rlly did get ghosted on the deal & it went apart.
Yeah, Nagata doesn't deserve to be defended. He conducted himself poorly and I've lost all the respect I had for him.
Smoky said the car was for sale, that's like saying to your mom, I'm a little bit pregnant. It is or it isn't. I get it, things happen and I can see there are some cultural issues in play but the whole it's mine but not mine to sell issue was confusing. Smoky stated they had several of those cars for sale and in different colors. Of course the gold looks incredible so why doesn't he build another one? Is it the Car of power? There can only be one? A deal is never done until the papers are signed and everyone has gotten an exchange.
its has been sold to malaysia in tokyo auto saloon in KL malaysia edition 2023.
I think the initial GT-R that Japonic wanted to purchase was purchased by V-Spec Performance from Australia, these guys buy and collect GT-R's and they just posted one of their buys matching the 35 that Japonic wanted to buy. Check them out, not 100% sure if it's the exact same one though...
The line of the lip seems to be a different colour, though. Could be just the filter they used.. who knows.

@@beattie725 Same car but not the same build. Theres a bunch of silver and gold accents the original didnt have and its also missing some stickers as well. I think the one v spec has was built to the same specs but it cant be the same car.

They are probably promoting a new model of OZ Racing wheels, which is the brand that Top Secret officially uses, the black wheels on the other side are the OZ that it was previously occupying

Because the way the Japanese do business is not spontaneous like in the West sometimes. They have to follow certain protocols and the process is quite lengthy. For him to just come in and say I will buy your car on the spot when they weren't planning to sell, blew they're mind. They don't know how to process it. Source : I did business in Japan for 8 years.
Don’t know how to process it…is just an excuse for them. They’re not dumb. I’m a bit disappointed with the way Smokey handled the situation. Don’t give people hopes if you know it can’t be done. If I were Japonik, I’ll build one myself. And as Jeff said.. one step above. With the exact same colour.

Smoky said it was for sale, and then all of a sudden backs out because of a buyback agreement? Sounds like bullshit to me. I don't think smoky and the team have the proper resources to be doing what they do then.... Either the car is for sale or it's not.
