My preseason lookouts for how I think the team should progress. Playoff Paolo 28-7-4 for him this year. Kenny, Suggs, and Dell giving Paolo and Franz proper spacing and shooting to get easy 1 on 1 opportunities. Cole having the freedom of spacers around him. And JI being the defensive captain off the bench not allowing leads to drop or just stoping hot scoring starts of the other team
I just had an epiphany about this whole Jalen Suggs contract situation. The Magic are challenging him and putting him in a tough position on purpose by playing him at PG. They NEED Jalen to be the PG in order to justify paying him closer to what he wants and thats likely their justification for not paying him what he wants. Think about it, if he’s just going to be a SG, there are plenty of 3 and D players out there who can do what he can for less. In fact, we already have someone who can do it, and he is only making $22 million per year, KCP. Jalen MUST expand his game in order to justify the Magic paying closer to what he wants. If he doesn’t, and he struggles at the PG position then he’ll either face the facts and accept the deal Orlando is offering him or, sadly, we will move him. I hope it never comes to that, but we need to be realistic.
I think Suggs is going to be fine. There's going to learning curves transitioning but the great part is in practice he's on a team that is playing anelite defense that's going to go hard on him getting him better.
I was surprised that Mose openly talks about Jalen's mistakes in practice. But if you listen carefully he says."There was 3-4 turnovers". I'm not sure if he really committed those or if they were talking about how he could prevent them by putting his teammates in better positions.
Gonna go out on a limb and say that the player Mason was a fan of but doesn't want to tell is Paul George, given his age, where he's from and the fact that this player is still in the league. (I don't think there's like an awesome player from IU that's been in the league for a long time now)
I think its THE Leap, Paolo is taking that step into superstar status by middle of season
Kev is back and looking sexier than ever!
Good podcast guys, hope you're all staying safe out there- looking forward to the season
