Great video! Your frustrations with burnout and what leads to it was palpable the whole way through and I'm glad you spoke on it. Thank you for putting everyone's thoughts out into tangibility. ❤ As a jobseeker looking to break into UX or copy, I've felt so much burnout. There are days I think about giving up and just coasting by on small side gigs and returning to the service industry. It's hard to cope when resources aren't as easy to come by, but knowing I'm not alone is a great help, as is knowing I can do this.
Thank you so much for your comment, Corey! And, oh… the job search phase is indeed one of the most frustrating parts of our careers. All the uncertainty and repeated rejection is hard to take. However, knowing how passionate and skilled a writer you are, I hope you won’t give up ❤️ You are definitely not alone in this. I truly wish companies would do better in respecting candidates for what they are: skilled professionals seeking new opportunities.
Anyone feeling burnt out reading this, just remember all of these things won’t matter 10-20 years down the road. What will matter is your health and well-being. Also, I really enjoyed your UX copywriting course and now RUclips videos. Keep up the good work dr Kat
Hi Tan, first, thank you so much for your kind words about my courses! You might have noticed that I left a comment under one for your videos, maybe you can check it out. :-) Second: I have to agree a 100%! Putting it all in perspective is so, so important! Also, work is only ONE part of our life - and risking our health and well-being will put ALL parts of our life at stake.
@@write-with-dr-kat oh no worries Kat, I have updated :) and yes we all can use a bit of zooming out sometimes. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers!
