    4:30 Spain
    5:20 Ireland
    6:43 Cyprus

Andrew, have you ever considered the Yachting Nomad Capitalist lifestyle? There are many wealthy entrepreneurs, especially around the Mediterranean, who live this way. I am seriously considering it myself in the next few years. A very nice motor yacht in the 80-100 foot class from a reputable European or North American shipyard can be had for $4-$8 million. Wherever you go, you are already home. No need for additional homes or apartments in various locales. You can spend 90 days in Spain, then again in France, further on to Italy, Greece and up the Adriatic to Montenegro. Or any combination. Anywhere you go you have a luxury home always set up to your own personal standards. You can enjoy the local culture at your leisure without booking hotels or setting up homes. What would be your thoughts on this way of life?

absolutely amature, all EU is one economic zone, only Turkey or Montengegro, and Gibraltar are "offshore". U will have to move outside EU water every like 180 days or u will face 20% VAT tax on your 8mil? sailing yacht :)))) etc. turkey allows boats to be "practically" 5 years with renevals every year. Greece imposed a sailing fee croatia too etc.

It's really the government that sucks. UK is the worst. The supply of land for development is so artificially restricted by green belt and zoning policies that the demand means sky high prices. I imagine Spain is no different

Spain is over-hyped, lived there on two occasions 12 years apart, the latter lasted 2 years and we left roughly 8 months ago. In spite of that both my wife and I are proficient in Spanish, we found them twitchy and lazy with a socialist stance, definitely not pro business though the northern regions fair better in that respect. Perhaps the biggest issue with Spain is their bureaucratic system combined with unprecedented taxation and corruption on all fronts. It's a great place to spend a fortnight there annually but we'll never put a dime into that country, their economy is doomed and under the current coalition government it looks really concerning.

@@unknowninfinium4353 Spain's economy is in bad shape due to the severe impact from corona virus. Unemployment is high (there was serious underemployment prior to corona virus impact), the govt has been talking about increasing taxes to compensate for its expenditure to recover from corona virus, seriously poor housing in some high density areas - small apartments with sometimes no balcony - of course it depends on what your benchmark is as to whether or not that is comfortable. There are large apartments in Madrid, was lucky enough to live in one and paid a premium for it. Also lived in one where I had about 2cm space above my head on the Costa Blanca, 4 rooms one bathroom, can hear everything the neighbours are doing.I suspect people who are on the lower socio-economic scale after corona virus will have little to spend on the black market economy but it does exist there. That said, I do still love Spanish culture, the freedom and non-judgement and culture in Madrid is in my opinion one of the liveliest in the world.Compared to Western culture (Australia at least) it's a liberating place to be and is far from being a nanny state unlike the place where I was born which issues a fine as soon as you leave your house.

@@unknowninfinium4353 I'm an Aussie/Australian citizen. Hmm, it really depends on your circumstances and what you want to get out of Spain. Holiday vs expat vs plant a flag as a nomad capitalist vs retire or a combo. It's a fantastic culture which unfortunately has been tarred from corona virus - no more two kisses and standing in each others faces while talking together in a group all at once. Nonetheless, why wait - if you have time and money go see it. Madrid is a world class city, spectacular art galleries, ungentrified bars, amazing architecture and of course like most metro cities, pushy! The north is remarkably different to the central and south. And I highly recommend Tenerife on the Canary Islands - amazing landscape. As a place to retire, I think it's a fantastic option, to work as an employee not so great and for investment this channel has more insight into that than me. Good luck. :)))

Spain is a great spot. I worry about the future though. I’m talking 30 years from now. How will their economy be? Will they even be in the top 20. How will global warming effect the country, it’s going to be scorching. Especially in a country like that where everything is dry and flammable. I’m just thinking outside the box. It’s a fantastic place now, but when I retire will it be. That is the question.

Hi Andrew, the Greek Golden Visa can also be issued with a minimum investment of 250k EUR, and someone can buy anything from the open market, even from individual sellers. Moreover, there are no restrictions on the location, the age, or the type of the property acquired, it can be residential or commercial or even just land. Last but not least, there is not any restriction on the number of the properties acquired, someone can collect more than one properties, provided that the total investment amount is over 250k EUR. Please consider the Greek programme too, it might be massive due to its popularity on the Chinese market, but it is an excellent solution for many people worldwide.

Cyprus was heavily exposed when Greece went bankrupt (Greek bonds).
