Brazil, as all countries in the New World, was formed by immigration. There was a reason why millions of Europeans emigrated to Brazil: Europe was poor. That’s where the pendulum is swinging to nowadays. Brazil may not have the friendliest taxes, but they’re lower than in the so-called West and the cost of living is several times cheaper.
Taxes are high in Brazil, you don't see it because it's embedded in the price of goods. Income tax brackets is worse than the US. Cost of living is high, expect to pay 90 USD for economy 3-star(ish) hotels like Ibis, in Sao Paulo, and usually nor very clean. Brazilian here. Brazil is a great place to live for anyone who is above middle class. People are welcoming and friendly, there are tons of opportunities and a variety of places, and it’s incredibly diverse, so no matter where you’re from, you can blend in. Healthcare is 100% free, including medication. Even thought is quite full of bureaucracy the market is booming too. Banks are also quite good and modern, we also almost never pay with paper anymore, only people that do are older people or country side folks. Fast internet. Above all, in terms of nature, might be the most beautiful country in the world. The downsides are: if you plan to work here, the minimum wage is a joke, so don’t come with nothing expecting to get rich. It’s not as dangerous as people think; mostly, it's the big cities, similar to places in the USA like NY or Chicago. However, it’s also not as safe as some other countries, and safety depends a lot on where you are. Taxes are no joke, so things like technology, cars, etc., are very expensive, but good quality food is much cheaper. Social inequality is also high, with many people in very low economic classes, but at the same time, it’s full of high-end experiences and luxury places. There are a lot more pros and cons, but I’ll end with this: I have the opportunity to live in any other country if I wanted, but after traveling for a while, I don’t think I would pick anywhere else simply because the people here are alive-happy, down-to-earth, social, spontaneous, warm. It’s something I feel is lacking in many other countries. Of course, not everyone on both sides fits these descriptions, but many do.

It’s affordable for American like me to live and retire there. Also I invested real estate there, cause the tax is really cheap comparing to the US. Nice inheritance tax whatsoever. It’s 2% for capital gains. Yearly Property tax and home insurance (option, not required) are cheaper than my 1 month car insurance. For English speaking, you can stay in HCM city, Da Nang, Ha Noi where there are international hospitals (English speaking) which you can purchase health insurance for $100-$200/month. Condo for rent 2bed, 2 bath is $$500-$700/month. Internet and cable is $15/month. For $2K/month, I can live comfortably there while traveling through the whole country.

Including the genocide waged against its indigenous population (60 million American Indians slaughtered -- the remaining survivors forcibly rounded up and herded into concentration camps euphemistically called "reservations") Washington has also slaughtered millions abroad in its forever wars waged over one pretext or another in its pursuit to steal other's natural resources.

Another Brazilian here, and it´s the best description I´ve ever seen. Especially so balanced in terms of security, that´s exactly it.

I’m Vietnamese visited family in the US twice. I’m quite surprised that my relatives there (upper middle income ) hardly go to any pampering experiences like massage, spa/facial. Only go to nice diner once every few months, vacation to different states (Miami, Hawaii) maybe once every few years. Also find No time for yoga, gym, tennis etc or even the daily brunch / coffee. Since its creation in 1776 America has been at war 93% of its existence, with only seventeen years of peace.

How has America helped the world's women when at home there exists a huge pay gap between the sexes (i.e., no equal pay for equal work in our patriarchal society governed by male Caucasians) and the glass ceiling in academia, the field of medicine, and the corporate world that bars women from positions of power? What is the tax bracket in Serbia

Everyone is trashing South Africa but I think they'll get it together eventually so I'll be looking to get a passport there
Come and stay for a month or 2. Then you will change your mind. I am talking about living in a area that is not a tourist destination. We fight crime daily, the police take bribes from the criminals, we are constantly fighting a lost battle. Our electricity and rates, etc go up and our life value down. Our biggest fight and expense is security. We lost more people in crime than countries in war. Welcome to the new reality.
@annamarialouisamorsner4571 guess you made thrashing home a sport
Crime is terrible in MOSTof these places. In Most of these places, more people due from crime than in war....because most places arent at war@annamarialouisamorsner4571

Hi Andrew, Are you open to commenting on some of the secession movements which are taking place and your opinion on which of those secession movements have the potential of a being a successful sovereign country?

Nigeria especially
if a country becomes independent it will probably be poor for the first few years but they tend to happen in waves in 1991 a lot of countries got independent and in 1975 and 1960 .since the 2000s only 3 or 4 countries got independent east Timor south Sudan Montenegro and maybe Kosovo. i don't know much about east Timor i heard a few bad things but i am not sure. south Sudan is bad monteegro is good but tiny Kosovo is only semi independent .it seems that one of the countries that may exist soon is Bougainville a pacific island controlled by Papua new guinea its small yet it has a lot of languages it seems bad right now maybe it will develop. there is also Somaliland that is basically independent right now. apart from that we can only speculate maybe the independence movements in Europe like in Scotland and Catalonia Flanders will grow again as things go downhill .but maybe the opposite will happen and there is a lot going on in Burma and Ethiopia but thiese guys have been trying for a long time
im from brazil and tax and laws here are a complete mess, i would avoid at all costs... here is a nice place to live, not make (or KEEP) money

There are some countries that do not allow dual citizenship. Is the possibility of dual citizenship possible, because countries with strict rules cannot know about other citizenship, or how is that achievable?
