    I think these videos are great easpcailly as master Yang translates the Chinese alongside the English. It's a great learning tool for Chinese as well. Never knew that about "冷"。。。 👏👍

    Thank you for the clarification. It makes sense and changes the single metal whip military intention in the form from transferring energy right to left. Excellent!

    thank you for the answer. that leng jin story was mentioned briefly long ago, and i never see anyone practicing it or even demonstrating it so i forgot about it until i watched your video :)
    and that picture of general on a horse striking with the steel whip is very helpful. i always thought the whip is on the right hand, like jockey whipping the horse, but the whip as secondary weapon is more logical.

    Hello and thank you for this interesting content.
    Should the single whip position be used less formally when we practice taolu?
    What could be the best way to practice single whip in taolu and applications?
    Thanks

      @@HaiYangChannel ive recently come to the conclusion, that the two main directions of force are extracting and contracting. We all as martial artists are bound by the laws of mechanichs, but there are "layers" and concepts, that are nt been taught in the west...

    Dear Hay Yng from what I've beeen studying dan bien can also be realede to an ancient cinese device to carry big baskets on shoulders. it is that pole across sholders a d sinfle whip posture is just tht inonic figure!

    • @outerlast
      @outerlast 2 дня назад +2

      i think that story about the pole to carry baskets on shoulder is more related to bajiquan, not taijiquan. some said bajiquan's elbow technique is a reminiscence of that baskets carrying pole.
      and it's not really ancient, because people still use that kind of pole to carry baskets in some countries :)

      Thank you Master Yang. I tried to search for the proverb to find out where it comes from, but couldn’t find the source. What text is the proverb from?

      @@ziqiantransforms: I created all of those proverbs.
